We are in a bit of a confused state with our setup in two conference rooms at our client's office. Here's what we have - Samsung TV for the monitor - Rally Bar for audio (speaker boost mode)/video - Mic Pods for microphones - Dell Optiplex Ultra Desktop sitting behind the TV (Client wants to be able to access files/PC experience) setup as ConfA@... and ConfB@... - Tap IP - Main driver is Teams, but we have Zoom installed on the PC for any needed Zoom meetings We can't get for the life of us get it to all stay connected. It's either the TAP IP works with the Rally Bar when the input is set to just pull from the Rally Bar and forget the PC... or when we switch the input on the TV to the PC it forgets that the Rally Bar is even an audio device. We changed wiring around and were able to get the Rally Bar to be an optional device for the PC, but then the Tap IP just sits in "can't find device" mode. Can they all not live together in harmony, or are we just missing a step. How would you connect it all together? Thank you!!
Well I would say your doing it wrong. A PC in a meeting room just to access files is fine. But don't connect it to the room system. Connect it to another source on the screen and switch to it when you need to. The issue you are facing is that the second you connect the Rally Bar to a PC over usb it switches to byod mode. The Tap IP then loses the MTR because it's no longer active. The RB is basically a USB soundbar at that point If you connect to hdmi it's available for content ingest only. If you need files in the room bring a laptop. If you really really need to have a PC in there and you really really need it to be available on the Rally Bar. And in Teams meetings. Use HDMI connected to the RB. Or better yet. Use the Swytch. That works as content ingest during a Teams meeting. Or byod mode when not in a meeting. I'm byod mode you can use the PC or a laptop to join Zoom meetings. Then disconnect and use it as an MTR again. But the Tap IP will probably lose connection to the MTR while it is in byod mode. If yiu need to control the RB during byod you use the remote. Or if I were you I'd move to Tap Cat5. Then in byod mode the Tap becomes the controller.
Hi, Thank you for the videos and explanations on how to use Rally Bar and TAP IP. We are facing an issue with the login part. installed Logitech rally bar and TAP IP. Registered the device with a Mac address on Teams admin. We log in with the meeting room email address on TAP IP then it says: couldn't enroll in Intune. Try again, or contact your admin. We could not find a way to pass this stage. Have you ever faced with similar issue like we had? Also, I'm not sure why Logitech does not specify the specs of the NUC mini PC of someone who is gonna use Rally bar and TAP IP with PC. Thanks for your time.
Can you connect single HDMI cable to laptop to display over screen? -I noticed I have to connect usb cable as well for it to display? -it was working before and now it’s asking to connect usb cable for it to work.
The hdmi to the bar can be used for content ingest to the front of room display outside a meeting or for sharing content to the Teams meeting while in a meeting. The usb-c to usb-a is used for connecting to a compute. In MTRoA mode the usb can be used to flip the bar to byod mode. The usb only connects the camera and audio to the laptop. To present the screen you also need the hdmi. In mtrow mode the C to A cable connects to the Teams Room compute.
Hi, Im wondering what is that straight stand youve used there, where you put the tv mount? Is that a tripod or something else? And where can i find it?. It looks to me that you can move around with this set up, and can I remove those vesa mount arms to make it clean in case i wont put a tv on those.
Hi. The stand is from Amazon. Quite heavy but it will take a much bigger screen. The vesa mount is the Logi TV mount for video bars www.logitech.com/en-gb/products/video-conferencing/accessories/tv-mount-video-bar.html
@@UCStatus Thanks for the reply. we already have the accessories, I think you got exactly what we want to set up, where the rally bar is mobile. But for us, we use a projector, so the mount for the TV is not needed actually. I think we can use the wall mount since its vesa, but the stand (or heavy duty tripod), that thing is where i am lost, cant seem to know where to find one (that is readily available and compatible).
I had a look on Amazon for the stand I bought and the link doesn't work. So I think it was possibly discontinued. This is similar, although mine doesn't have casters (I wish it did though). www.amazon.co.uk/1home-Bracket-Display-Trolley-Non-Marking-TV-Cart-23-55-max-load-25-kg/dp/B074TB5MG5/ref=sr_1_16?keywords=allsortsoutlet%2Bstand&qid=1636705502&sr=8-16&th=1 There are tons like this on Amazon. It needs to be sized to your screen of course. And the bigger the screen, the wider the base or feet should be. Hope this helps
Hey Nice video I have question about the Rally Bar, I cannot find an answer at Logitechs Webpage When you are in the Teams Mode, can you plugin a PC via HDMI and USB and it automatically switches into BYOD-Mode? Or if not, how many steps are needed to switch between Teams-Mode and BYOD and back again. Thanks a lot
No you can’t unfortunately. To switch to BYOD mode you have two options. The simplest would be to plug in a Swytch at extra cost. The unsimple version requires admin access and a mode change and reboot. But this wipes the Teams creds. So when you change back you need to sign in again.
@@UCStatus Superb review on this product! Today I noticed that Teams Mode & BYOD mode can be combined ( by plugging in both USB-A & HDMI cable to a laptop ) ( wait for 5 seconds to have the BYOD mode start ) ( after disconnecting USB-A & HDMI cable the Rally Bar goes back to Teams mode ) ( this was also mentioned in this review : ua-cam.com/video/o46Stw9kcEw/v-deo.html )
Thanks for the kind words and thanks for watching. Thanks for the link. I just tested it and it works a treat. Surprised Logi haven’t mentioned that. I’ll do another short video on that because it’s really useful for those that need it.
@@UCStatus do you reckon if a tap ( although it's not yet certified to control a Teams room setup )'s HDMI input could be used to add content to the call or is the Rally Bar setup only for "camera" conferencing ? I don't see anything pop up during a call when i connect a laptop to the HDMI input ( both on the TAP and on the Bar unit ) to enable screensharing ... I didn't find any definitive answer to that in the documentation on the Logi website.
@pasiutrial you can change the device name that appears in the Teams Admin Centre which appears in the Pro management portal as Host name. For Logitech CollabOS devices you can. Change the host name of the device in Sync

Check for failures in Intune / Endpoint manager. It's most likely a setting like personal devices or number of logins
thank you @@UCStatus We have checked with the Service Delivery Manager but we could not find any issue. I created a ticket with Logitech let's see.

Great video - worth doing an update now that it's been certified?
You mean the Tap console? Yes. I already did. As you’ve found already 😉

What about the hdmi ingest to share local content in Teams?
See other comment. Not yet
I can't move the camera when I'm in a meeting
You need the remote for that. Or just let the camera provide the best view
Do you know hot to change Tap hostname?
Yes. Same way as any Windows PC
