I'm sorry to hear about it - if you are in the tropical region, I'm pretty sure it will slowly will find its place in some nurseries any time soon as this is considered a popular trending plant.
Hi, your garden is so lovely! Truly a labour of love😍👍 . My Mum has this S. Wallichii in a shaded area of her porch in Seremban. Just to share...I noticed that it's rather prone to mealy bugs. Treated it with a solution of liquid hand soap and water for a few days. Then, sprayed it down with Mr Ganick Super Margosa several times. Its thriving now, really hope it stays that way. Do try that if you do encounter a similar issue.
Thank you so much for sharing your thoughts and experience. Yes, occasionally I get pest underneath the leaves hence I use neem oil mix with neem soap on all my plants on weekly basis to deter them.
Sharmini, Do check in the Indian sundry shop whether they sell these items - I use the neem bathing soap n the neem oil both are very affordable n safe for plants n home use as no side effects.
Hello! Would you say this care applies to most Schismatoglottis species? I have a young Schisma sp. Sumatera barat that I'm having trouble finding info on. It looks similar to the Sarawak
If it is Schismatoglottis - then in most cases, its the same plant care and cultivation needs. However do check and see how they respond in your garden condition as they do fair differently even between plant species.
