    And with such great technicalities, Quintet and SM4 seem like a great options for people who want all rounder and are willing to perfect it by themselves with EQ. I do like the Quintet slightly more aesthetically but surely not 70$ more, its just a simple silver plate.

    Yes, I do own the Simgot Supermix 4 and truly love the toned down treble compared to another favourite of mine, the Aful Performer 5. Vocals on both are amazing, especially females. Example- Dreams by Fleetwood Mac and male- Hey Hey by Eric Clapton. I do like Harman tuned iems.

    i just got ordered those as my first ever iem's and i hope they wont disapoint. i've been using an shp9500 and wanted an upgrade and i wanted it to be an iem since i live in a hot place and summer is upon us. idk much about impedence and dac/amps but i ordered a dongle dac ( Graveaudio DA06 CX31993 ) and im gonna mainly use it on my pc and phone. can you please tell me if that dongle is enough to drive the supermix 4 ? or should i get a better amp/dac ?

    • @ReganCipher
      @ReganCipher  7 місяців тому +1

      I don't know much about that dongle but you might be ok. The SM4 are finicky - higher powered sources seem to be the ones it doesn't really play well with. I tried with a dongle dac (ikko lot) and it was fine, so you should hopefully be alright

      You should've started around $20, if you're just starting to use IEM.

    Would you like to tell me what kind of eartips you are using for the supermix 4 in this video?

      I checked AliExpress - they're no longer listed 😕 (I bought them in 2019)

    At 0:31 The supermix 4 Frequency Response was improperly placed on the graph. For proper understanding of how each IEM will compare, they MUST all be joined specifically at the 1k hz mark as "THE" REFERENCE POINT.. This will reveal how the supermix 4 has both less bass, lean mids, and noticably less overall trebles, in comparison to the others. This is a critical point to make.

    • @Maxx134a
      @Maxx134a 9 днів тому

      At 7:23 we see again the improper reference point, by trying to place both signatures close together. The reality is that we must use 1k hz as the reference point, as this point aligns is the peak point of human ear sensitivity, which means put ears will perceive this area first, and EVERYTHING else will be perceived in relation to this 1khz area.
      . It is very important to always set the reference points of these graphs at 1k or else we cannot "visually" compare.
      .. So, in this case, the supermix 4 actually has LESS (mid) BASS, and less upper range trebles area, creating a more lean image overall (shouty), in relation to the 500ML posted.

      Forgot to say thank you for review, as your clear descriptive presentations are better than most reviewers, and this helped me decide on the 500ml as an extra set.

      It's a good point. When I started measuring mostly people stuck to the IEC standard of normalising at 500Hz, so that's what I've always done. It's also the default on squiglink so I didn't want a situation where people went on squig and saw a discrepancy from what I was presenting. I guess you can't please everyone 🤣
      I will give normalising at 1kHz some consideration. I'm aware this has become the norm with most IEM reviewers. I'll probably do that on my next review and see if anyone notices!
      Thanks for the feedback and for watching! 👍

    Saw some UA-camr rant about how the sm4 has inverted polarity. Is this really that big of an issue?

    • @ReganCipher
      @ReganCipher  2 місяці тому +1

      I'm gonna guess that's Sharur..... Everything is terrible except whatever is flavour of the month, take it with a pinch of salt. If you hear the reversed polarity just invert the pins. It's annoying, but not a big deal IMO.

    Are Realme Buds Air6 (not the pro version) worth the price? I cannot increase my price range due to personal reasons so can't get the pro one.
    If possible, could you review them? It would mean a lot to me. Or just reply to this message

    Hello, have you already tested the Dunu Titan S? It looks amazing, I bought one very cheap, less than 50 dollars and with Eartips Candy, it seems to be a great competitor to the Simgot EA500.

      @@ReganCipherGood! I watch your videos using subtitles, sometimes something is cut. I have a set of Realme Buds Air 6 Pro and Dunu Titan S, for me it is more than excellent, both are about to arrive. I have a question, how does a good TWS compare to a cheaper wired IN Ear, or if the Realme Buds Air 6 Pro were wired which one would it be?

    • @ReganCipher
      @ReganCipher  7 місяців тому +1

      @luannx1_ even some of the cheaper IEMs give you a much better spatial presentation than TWS. You couldn't use a TWS for gaming in the way that you could an IEM, for example. You can test it out with some certain tracks (Google best tracks for testing sound stage). TWS, even well tuned, can just be a bit narrow by comparison.
      I don't think I have any IEMs that sound particularly like the Buds Air 6 Pro, I'll have a think about it though see if I can remember any.
      BTW - it's the Dunu Titan S2 I have here, the new version. Sounding pretty good so far!

    These sound so nice, just don’t like the cable otherwise it would be a near perfect set for me- the cable has microphonics and feels heavier than some others I’ve tried, also the chin slider is useless

    • @ReganCipher
      @ReganCipher  7 місяців тому

      Yeah I already switched it for a Dunu cable and it sounds better too. I wished SIMGOT would have included better accessories, I know they are trying to keep the cost down against the Quintet etc but lots of people are buying this as their first IEM and they don't always have better cables and tips lying around, so I'm in complete agreement there. Thanks for commenting! 🙌
