Fun fact: the guy who makes Stardew Valley Expanded was working on the 1.6 update together with Eric "Concernet Ape " Barone. So the mod was ready and updated for the launch of 1.6
@@luvdiarvie Saw this with no response. I play with Expanded, Scarp, and Ridgeside. It works fine, and I enjoy having lots of stuff to do over time. Though I would turn off the Ridgeside people from being included in the introduction quest. I forgot to turn it off, and had 77 people to meet across the three towns. It was a pain.
@@luvdiarvie I have all of them in my game and its so nice! it gives the valley more life, it makes it more full and happy. I defenitely recommend all of them, expecially together, the only ''bad thing'' in it is that you need to meet 77 people at the start of the game but the rest i defenitely love together
I like the "seasonal outfits - slight cuter aesthetic" mod bc it's extremely vanilla friendly, only slightly chances the character models, and just gives more portraits in the sense that the new outfits go on the vanilla portraits. It's super well done!
So excited for the new update! It's awesome that Concerned Ape is so proud of his baby that not only is he still giving us treats in the form of content, but that he loves and respects the community he cultivated enough to pass the torch to the modding community with this final update. (Watch it not be the final update. I feel like he has no self control when it comes to loving and working on Stardew)
yeah, thats why I also enjoy having vanilla aesthethics, it's cute and is less work, blending well with most mod....as for portrait mods I gotta reccomend Nyapu's Portraits, it coves all characters in base game + SV expanded + Ridgeside + Adventuretes guild + a buttload of other popular expansion mods I haven't tried yet, its kinda insane how much there is here. They go for a cute harvestmoon/storyofseasons look and it looks amazing
Dude i FEEEL that with SVE, it seems overwhelmingly large! Also the "progression mode" of the gift helper just seems like whats already available in the vanilla game lol
Ridgeside Village, East Scarp are both great expaison mods. Though if I remember right the dev auther of East Scarp will be doing a remastered version as alater update. But it will like ridgeside village and stardew expanded have 1.6 version close after the update.
As for the 1.6 update - there's currently alpha testing ongoing, various content creators and the biggest/best mod creators have access to it and are already creating content and updating the important mods like SMAPI, Pathoschild's mods, alternate textures and such. So the mod "fallout" should be minimal once the update actually drops, at least for gameplay mods ☺ I really love watching Stardew mods videos and this one was so well done, I even found some new favorites! Also please, I beg you Liss... drop your haircare routine 😅
i absolutely love how picky you are with the portraits, i love love love monoSDE's portraits because it only tweaks them a little bit and they all look so good
@@Ylurple I did the same, got the game first on Switch and played till I got perfection started other saves and discovered mods. Let me tell you this game will never get old for me with all these mods and mod expansions, SV expanded is really like a whole new game

A bit late but I would like to say that the interface mod mentioned in the video (Vintage Interface V2) has been abandoned by the creator and become outdated. If you want to look for an alternative I would reccommend 'DaisyNiko's Earthy Interface' - it hasn't been updated for 1.6 as of yet, but the creator has confirmed that they are working on it. Hope this helps! :)
I've tried so many visual styles and different farm building styles to transform my game to something cool. I could never really figure out what I wanted and I ended up with so many mods that it stressed me out. And then I saw this video and how you choose a more Vanilla friendly style, I thought of how much more relaxing the game will be if I don't have to obsess over making it the coolest looking thing in my mind, visually. I imagined my old non-Vanilla mods, and how frustrating it would be if I create the coolest farm ever, but one day those mods might not be compatible anymore and I'd loose all the cool building styles and decoration that I did. At least with a more Vanilla style I won't loose all that much if the mods should oneday not be compatible with the game anymore and the creator don't update them anymore. After playing it your way for a little bit I too prefer it this way more. These vanilla mods are pretty awesome too 😄
I am so prepared for this!! Some of the more 'helpful' mods I have used or plan to use in my next save are MARGO (an incredible overhaul for skills mastery and professions), automate (which works like minecraft hoppers and redstone), Fishing Made Easy Suite (highly customizable fishing options for making it any percent easier or harder, plus other random stuff), Skull Cavern Elevator (which adds an elevator just like the mines), Help Wanted (which adds multiple 'help wanted' postings outside Pierre's every day instead of just one) and To-Dew (which adds a to-do list). Some of my favorite nonsense and cosmetic mods are Wickedy's holiday outfits mod (as well as her 'flamingo flipping' mod which purely lets you flip the lawn flamingos), Animated Festive Winter Tree (for decorating your trees in winter just like in Animal Crossing), Dynamic Reflections (adds NPC and farmer reflections in water, plus a gorgeous night sky effect in the water), Happy Birthday (which gives the player a birthday and adds gifts and dialogue from NPCs), Terrarium Obelisk (which lets you repaint the obelisks to look like very aesthetic terrariums), Cuter Pigs (which does as it says but still looks vanilla), Portraited Changing Skies (which changes the portrait backgrounds to be dynamic to the weather and season), and Female Farmer Overhaul Continued (which is very customizable and lets you toggle a slightly cuter farmer body type, longer sleeves, and a new look for shoes, accessories, hats, shirts, and hairstyles. I personally only use the longer sleeves and accessories, I still like the more vanilla look).
i'm trying to move away from heavy modding and go for something more vanilla on my next playthrough so this was very helpful!! elle's mods are fantastic and they were exactly what i was looking for ;D
Heyy, amazing video liss definitely gonna check out the mods I haven't seen before! Also u look so so so beautiful WOW I love playing modded and I've been dabbling with mods for a few years, so here are a couple of my faves! Romanceable Rasmodius mod by PaintedParrot makes the wizard a marriage candidate. With the portrait + model change BBR's Seasonal Younger Wizard, he's my magical pookie and the dialog lines make me feel like I'm in a fantasy rp game haha. Date Night by SUPERT is a fun mod to add more cutscenes with your spouse and if you like the og portrait style (as i do) the Seasonal Villager Outfits Slightly Cuter Aesthetic by Poltergeister is a fun way to spruce up each season, also makes more sense when its winter and characters arent running around in dresses.
I used to be such a cottagecore player, I would want to get a mod for EVERYTHING to match. Then it got too overwhelming and I didn’t feel like I was a cottagecore person anymore. It’s not like I ever really was but so many people were pushing out these kinds of mods so I decided to make a cottagecore mod folder but now I’m realizing how much more I like vanilla.
Others mods I have use in my last run and I recomend were East Scarp (another expansion like SVE), Love of Cooking (about expanding cooking), Lookup Anything (the power of the wiki within your game), NPC Map Locations (show the npcs in the map), Pokefy (which makes many animals, pokemon), To-Dew (you can do a to-do list) and the Stardew Aquarium, for which you would need Bus Locations I am waiting for the update tho, since I don't know how many of these mods will update and when
liss!! would love to see you do a chill vid on this channel (or a main one if you feel like it!) when 1.6 comes out of just you playing lowkey and vibing with the new content ❤❤
YES THE DIFFERENT PIXEL ARTS DRIVE ME NUTS TOO! Oh my gosh that has been brewing inside of me for so long and I hadn't seen anyone else mention that specific problem
Definitely got some new mods from this list. For the portraits though since Anime portraits doesn't currently work with 1.6 yet (dev says they're working on it). I HIGHLY recommend Nyapu's Portraits. Super cute Harvest Moon inspired, covers all vanilla characters and a bunch of expansion characters.
i agree wholeheartedly about the aesthetic mods, whenever i see one of those cottage or fairycore farms where it's modded like crazy and it looks like a completely different game i'm like ... why
hi i never comment on youtube videos but your videos are awesome and after a day of stressing out your channels are a calm place where everything feels okay and chill and i really appreciate that so thanks for being you and being awesome 😎👊💥
For Portraits, I personally really like Nyapu's portraits, they're really cute and the mod has portraits for SVE, Ridgeside village, East Scarp and many of the NPC's that you can put in East Scarp! They even have the Romanceable Rasmodia portraits!
My absolute go-to gameplay QOL mod would have to be UI Info Suite 2 (successor to the original one on nexus but moved to github). Shows tiles for sprinklers/scarecrows, harvest time, pet animal indicator, birthdays, calendar/notice board on your menu, weather, daily luck, merchant visit, harvest price etc. You can customize it to show which ones you want to keep or not so it isn't too op. Not intrusive to one's HUD and an absolute game changer. For aesthetics, I like guxelbit's vanilla-ish alternative textures for chests and furniture. I prefer variety when it comes to decorating and like you, I prefer when they don't stray too far from the vanilla look so it has the same palette and touch. I don't wanna put 10 chests in a row and have it all look the same just in a different color lol.
Really appreciate the update, you could have easily kept the outdated ones up and not done this. It shows you care about the Stardew community and I will subscribe just for that! Keep being great liss pilled!
Several mods are already updated for the 1.6 update. I use stardrop mod manager and the 3 base mods that make a bunch of mods work have updates, smapi has an update, and a few others. I'd expect several other mods to release their updates when 1.6 comes out. Don't update the mods or smapi before 1.6 comes out, I accidentally did that and it broke all my mods until I reverted them lol.
I like toxnes and talkohlooey's portrait mods, it's a cute western animation style. At last count, they're not doing any further work on them, but there are also portraits (either by them or by someone else in the same style) for SVE, East Scarp, and I think Ridgeside is at least partly done or in the works.
guxelbit's furniture and too many swatches mod are a great furniture mod that keep the vanilla looks and im in love and its Alter Text! so you have so many choices from just one furniture
It's the opposite for me, I felt like SVE is too small. Therefore, I also added Ridgeside Village. Now I don't even have anything to do because I already maxed friendship everyone including SVE and RIdgeside village NPCs, lmao.
I also recommend as a general rule, to get CJB cheats menu and the noclip mod. I find CJB works really well for testing mods, and the noclip mod can be a lifesaver if you get stuck in a modded area with no way out
I löve how saturated and vibrant the vanilla colour looks. I don’t like how most mods make everything look like it’s grey and cloudy outside all the time.
omg ive been reading the channel name as "liss piss", and thought that a bit weird but ok but now i looked at it again and it makes sense that your channel is not that 😭😭
I never got into Stardew Valley because I'm a fan of Harvest Moon and I thought Stardew Valley was a rip off and I honestly never seen gameplay of Stardew Valley just screenshots. But seeing the gameplay here it looks like The Legacy of Goku 2/Buu's Fury/RPG graphics on the GBA. It looks interesting, I might play it one day ha.
i have several hundred hours into the game, i think im about 300 hours in each on 3 different playthroughs but i have never used any mod yet. it is partially because any time i have tried using mods in games in the past i either can not figure it out or in order to use this mod you have to also download these three mods and then these three mods also have other mods you have to download to use them and no. i also just do not like junking up my computer, just like i do not like having a bunch of apps on my phone. i have always wanted to try Stardew Valley Expanded though, and i LOVE big open world games where you can just explore forever. BUT one of the main game mechanics of Stardew Valley is the extremely limited amount of time you have before the day ends, which sort of defeats the point of having lots of space and places to go.
i still use old mods since i play on 1.5.6 since theres a nagito mod that the developer hasnt been active since 2020 and i love nagito so much staying on 1.5.6 is worth it
How to remove mods from specific save file?? I want to start a new save file with zero mods but I don’t want to ruin my other save files that depends heavily on mods
As long as you don’t try to play thru a day without those mods and save you should be good to take them out of the folder! Something I like to do is have folders dedicated to each save so I can just plop them in and play :) if it’s just recolors you’re good too
@@lisspilledSeconding the multiple-folders approach, I have over a dozen (I like to try lots of different things, but not all at once). Official wiki has instructions on how to do it.
Found out your channels just in time for the 1.6 update! It's been a while since I played Stardew so your videos have been very helpful, also the nostalgia of the Sims games hits hard.
I have both Stardew Valley Expanded and Ridgeside Village mods 😂 some days I get so many cutscenes I just skip over them if they include an NPC I don’t care about.
I have a suggestion please! I would LOVE to see you play Sun Haven and give your honest feedback :) :) I love watching you play games and Sun Haven is a wonderful farming game that is very similar Stardew Valley but with more magical features! :)

right im so scared for the 1.6 update bc i just started modding my game 😭 anyways u are looking so pretty here!!!!!!
god i'm itching for a co-op playthrough xD
omg ive been reading the channel name as "liss piss", and thought that a bit weird but ok but now i looked at it again and it makes sense that your channel is not that 😭😭
I never got into Stardew Valley because I'm a fan of Harvest Moon and I thought Stardew Valley was a rip off and I honestly never seen gameplay of Stardew Valley just screenshots. But seeing the gameplay here it looks like The Legacy of Goku 2/Buu's Fury/RPG graphics on the GBA. It looks interesting, I might play it one day ha.
stardew is a wonderful game. definitely check out some gameplay! :)
I thought the same thing when I played for the first time! But as you play you slowly realize how it’s better than HM in every conceivable way lol
You need a pfp because I keep thinking this is a re-uploading page
I do 🫠 I’m so indecisive
I'm sorry for asking, but does your haircut has a specific name? It looks stunning, and the color is so pretty as well 😮
it looks like a butterfly cut but with bangs
pause. how did i not know you had a second channel? im a phony.
i have several hundred hours into the game, i think im about 300 hours in each on 3 different playthroughs but i have never used any mod yet. it is partially because any time i have tried using mods in games in the past i either can not figure it out or in order to use this mod you have to also download these three mods and then these three mods also have other mods you have to download to use them and no. i also just do not like junking up my computer, just like i do not like having a bunch of apps on my phone.
i have always wanted to try Stardew Valley Expanded though, and i LOVE big open world games where you can just explore forever. BUT one of the main game mechanics of Stardew Valley is the extremely limited amount of time you have before the day ends, which sort of defeats the point of having lots of space and places to go.
My fave mods are just QOL mods, automate is sooo helpful in late game!
i still use old mods since i play on 1.5.6 since theres a nagito mod that the developer hasnt been active since 2020 and i love nagito so much staying on 1.5.6 is worth it
Your hair, god dang 😍
Haha thanks!
@@lisspilled Skipping stan and going straight to simp idc
How do you switch the buildings in the in game menu? (6:04) I have to go into a note pad and stuff?
liss did you dye your hair? loving that color on you
I didn’t!! lol tysm :) might be the lighting
Combination of Stardew valley expended, rigside village and xtardew valley was epic, well it no logner is in 1.6 😂
Have you tried the slight cuter character aesthetics mod? It’s such a good one.
absolutely eating up these second channel videos!!!
I love Stardew Valley and I loved your content!I
How to remove mods from specific save file?? I want to start a new save file with zero mods but I don’t want to ruin my other save files that depends heavily on mods
As long as you don’t try to play thru a day without those mods and save you should be good to take them out of the folder! Something I like to do is have folders dedicated to each save so I can just plop them in and play :) if it’s just recolors you’re good too
@@lisspilledSeconding the multiple-folders approach, I have over a dozen (I like to try lots of different things, but not all at once). Official wiki has instructions on how to do it.
You look like a live version of Penny, ngl.
graphics in this are soooooo cute
THANK UUU my friend Leo did the art @lollileopop on IG ❤️❤️
I wanna play a modded farm, but also 1.6 is coming out soon, so I'm waiting for that instead :P
yes vanilla-ish for life
Found out your channels just in time for the 1.6 update!
