Demonstration of Chemistry experiments on the last day of lessons (2016-17) at N. Alikarnassos Highschool, Greece.
Eight trained students (grades 10-11) conducted the sheer joy of Chemistry to their peers! I am grateful to my students for their enthusiasm and commitment!

Οκτώ μαθήτριες και μαθητές της Α’ και Β΄ Λυκείου μετέδωσαν στους συμμαθητές τους τον ενθουσιασμό τους για τη Χημεία! Ευχαριστώ τους μαθητές μου για το ζήλο που επέδειξαν κατά την προετοιμασία και εκτέλεση των πειραμάτων!

The ph cabbage experiment, which products did you use for the strong base?
All basic solutions were made by diluting a 1 M NaOH solution (which has pH=14)

What can be used in place of KI in elephant toothpaste experiment??
Other catalysts for H2O2 decomposition are MnO2, KMnO4 and the enzyme catalase, however they do not produce the exact seme result. KMnO4 makes a similar foam but is toxic.
For catalase you can use yast or even an animal's blood.

One of them experienment is use in firework it is called in marathi 'naga gooli
7:20 so that's how those commercially available fireworks of that type work!

Anyone else notice that in the elephant toothpaste experiment the red and blue turned into orange and green?
That's true! Some oxidation of iodide to iodine takes place as well. Iodine in low concentrations appears yellow and when it mixes with blue or red it gives out green or orange color respectively.
