    "Her visual imagery was pretty grim"
    Yes. That's the point. That's what war *is*. She wanted these dumb college student revolutionaries to realize that. All they saw was the glories of victory. They never stopped to think about all the collateral damage along the way. Collateral damage that both Handler AND Twilight know personally, because war is what they grew up in.

    Technically we had another meeting between Loid and Yuri in this episode :P
    Yuri just didn't knew that he was talking to Loid.

    This scene with Handler's speech on what actual war is like and her saying, "you utter children" was probably my top 5 scenes of any anime till now. The fact that "war" is such a common word on some people's lips as an answer and their pride for their nation makes me so sick. Relations between countries are bad? "oh we should go to war and take everything, we're so strong, our military is strong blah blah blah". Talking as actual people who have families don't get injured or die in those wars. Whether it's the soldiers or the people who become refugees, who have their whole life turned upside down just like that. War isn't something to hype up in those video games or movies. And I'm so glad that SpyXFamily as an anime continues to shed light on this particular thing, about how war should be avoided at any cost. Twilight and Handler and almost everyone in the Westalis agent team are children who came out of the war and survived through those tough times.
    There's a song called "Ugh" by BTS and the theme is about "anger" that reaches it's peak. It talks about how "hate" and "anger" are such important emotions that could be used for the betterment of society and bring change (through protests and big movements to overthrow the bad) and yet in this society (especially the internet) you see those important emotions being wasted by people just like that. And for what? for fighting people on the internet about entertainment industry, picking over someone's life and basically things that have no productive result. For people who can just choose to ignore something small, they end up extending it into something big, especially when they don't even know the whole story.
    Also, I'd like to recommend you an anime called "eighty six". It's theme is dark too but the plot is really thought provoking. I've read its light novel and it's going in a great direction.

    • @TalasDD
      @TalasDD Рік тому

      this arc is actualy based on 3 historical events so having it play out fully would become boring. Minister Branzs visit to Ostanis (Franz Ferdinands visit to East Germany), the Students actions (Rote Armee Fraktion a pro cummunist west German terrorist group), and the dogs actualy existet an where a Problem in the 60s.

    • @vailingbow1068

      It's not a mini arc in the least. This is basically the first big arc compared to other arcs and the succeeding arcs this season.

    The terrorists' names all start with K because there's nine of them. K-9. And just a reminder, Anya is not six years old, she lied about her age because she knew Loid needed a six-year old.

    6:07 Well it might not be _that_ big of an issue if the secret police found out since it would also be their job to deal with the terrorists.
    They may be from the same country, but even the secret police still wants to maintain peace and avoid an all out war for the sake of Ostania, where as Keith and his comrades _want_ a war so that Ostania can wipe out Westalis and "be restored to their former glory." When we meet Yuri and see him at work for the first time, he says that he will "Remove any threats in this country where my sister lives." That would include extremists and domestic terrorists like Keith.

    I really don't think Anya is 6 yet. She just said that cause Twilight was looking for a 6 year old back in episode 1

    • @Mis7erSeven
      @Mis7erSeven Рік тому

      She has to be six, otherwise her situation in school makes no sense.
      If she was a younger kid with average intelligence, she wouldn't be able to stay on a high level school at all.
      And if she was a younger kid with very high intelligence, her learning abilities would be better as well and she wouldn't have such big problems with studying.
      So she has to be a six-year-old with average intelligence, which makes her able to keep up with her classmates but she has to try very hard for it. She is one of the weaker students because the other children in this school either are very intelligent or (more likely) have advantages because of their families financial situation. Private teachers, extra help and studying under the best possible conditions are all things that rich kids have access to which makes them better in school without being actually smarter. Anya is in a disadvantage here because she is not from a rich family.

    • @yadiracamacho499
      @yadiracamacho499 Рік тому +13

      @@Mis7erSeven But, she's failing. She's not keeping up. It's possible her disadvantage is just because she's not rich, but it could also be that's she's a bit younger. I don't think she's a younger kid with high intelligence, but that she's a younger kid with average intelligence and psychic powers that do give her an edge sometimes

      @@Mis7erSeven Even the guy at the foster home was like "wait you're 6?" and with Anya trying to appear tall in ep1 and Twilight appearing surprised (I think he even said she's gotta be 4-5 at most or something), though the show hasn't explicitly said it, there' a more than 50% chance that Anya is less than 6.

    • @steve_yu
      @steve_yu Рік тому +7

      @@Mis7erSeven She is cheating on exams by reading the minds of her classmates, and even then is barely keeping up. Anya is also shorter than everyone else, including Becky. She is definitely less than six. Probably 4 or 5 with above-average intelligence.

    "NO" might be translated in english for viewers comprehension and maybe it was badly written hiragana. "no" is comprehensive no matter how bad it is written i guess, hiragana on the other hand not so much. but i did not read manga so its just my theory. We do know Anya is bad at drawing and its safe to assume her writting is not excellent either plus she was using ketchup to do the writing :)
