Bold of yall to watch this, keep in mind this show stands along breaking bad and game of thrones with 5 episodes in the top 10 imdb (really). Questions are natural especially if you arent used to anime. I actually just double checked it is 4 now but anywho the top hundred is littered with Attack on titan episodes. My favorite fiction ever hope at least 1 more fan was born from this.
I showed my dad (around the same age as this panel) Attack on Titan and I asked when he was fully hooked on the show. Without spoiling, he said it was the episode "Warrior" that really got him invested in the show.
@@reapimuhs It's not really a spoiler but kind of is because now they'll be anticpating the episode rather than going in "blind." That's of course if they even saw the comment. But like you said, they also dont know the context. And they'll probably forget lol
@@Tony_The_Laser_GuyGlad you enjoyed it. Perhaps you might be more invested if the audio was in English? I personally feel that most newer folks having to both get into a new kind of show (in this case anime) + having to read subtitles due to the audio being in a foreign language can make it difficult to get accustomed too. You can honestly enjoy everything about the show more if it's in a language you understand. Commentators will argue because in their opinion Japanese is superior, but don't mind them as long as *you* can enjoy the show the way *you* find it most suitable.

Please keep an open mind continuing the show. All those questions will be answered. This was only episode 1. And there is a reason why we waited years and years for the ending. There are many twists and hidden messages that only become clear leater in the show
Some of the comments make it blatantly obvious that y’all missed the “anime haters” in the title. What other kind of reaction would you expect from someone who hates anime? At least they are giving it a shot and actually watching it. 99% of anime “haters” don’t even make it to watching one episode so it’s already a big step in the right direction. I have no doubts that as the show goes on their appreciation for the show starts showing. Also, I know they are already pretty far into the season at this point, but if there are still hesitations about getting into it then maybe watching in dub would help (assuming they haven’t switched to dub already). But can’t wait to subscribe and follow them along on this journey of watching the greatest piece of fiction OAT.
This show seems like one thing but the more question it answer the story truly unfolds into a masterpiece that has many similarities to our society today
Your son is correct this is the greatest show. You wont see how great it is untill half of s1. It will start capturing you during s2. It will have a grip on you at s3 and youll be yet another group of humans to repeat the belief this is the greatest show by s4
I appreciate you guys watching this show. Now this show is loved by a lot of people and has a interesting fan base so that's probably why you're getting some opinionated individuals. but alas, enjoy the journey :)
This anime is fairly unique, as the story deals with very deep themes that most don't even touch. Every scene is chosen with intent and has meaning; there's a ton of small arcs and quite a few major ones that have very interesting meaning behind them. I hope I can watch you guys to the end. I never get tired of seeing people experience this show for the first time.
All those questions are answered later on during all the seasons... The first season leaves so many unanswered questions. This anime is one of the best I have ever seen. Not only the artwork but the story evolves really well through the seasons.
No offense to anyone, for real. But the third guy seems like he is really, really fun to be around. He has "cool uncle" written all over him. He even made the "Mikasa, Sukasa" joke.
Make sure they know that anime is merely a medium and there are all sorts of stories for all ages including sports, romance, horror, and crime dramas. It’s not all for kids and edgy teenager
So many people miss out on incredible stories because of its form of media. Animated films, anime, video games. If you’re kids say it’s the best show try and keep an open mind going forward
Comment section hasn't really been it here. Sorry you guys have had the responses you have. A lot of us really like the show and some people get kind of offended if people think it's anything less than perfect. At any rate, it's a VERY well written story that I hope you all genuinely enjoy. If not, that's ok. Anime isn't for everyone. It's as much of a mystery show as it is any other genre, so having tons of questions is very natural. The entire world is a mystery when you start, and you join the protagonists in learning about the world. So if things feel a bit off or hard to follow, it's expected. All questions will be answered eventually. Enjoy the show, yall!
Exactly. If you feel confused, then you’re paying attention lol. We all felt confused our first watch. But the twists and turns make this show so worth while.
But realistically, you don’t have to like anime to like this show. The show is phenomenal if you know what excellent writing and casting voice characters and everything about it , but yeah, we’ve been pretty rough. Im done here anyway
well, not if they didn't say *"anime looks dumb"* 💀 do you also think that's beyond insult, no? if the one who say it is 70yo people, I can understand, but a person in their 40s or 50s is just sound wrong. my biggest red flag is if they say it just because they hate Japan, for historical reason, or something else, cause IDGAF about that. aside from that, it's fine. appreciating other work is the key of success. if they can't even say "this is good" or "it's not bad", then they'll never be succed in this one.
@@YourAveragePredator TLDR. You need to grow up. They're literally here watching anime and you're finding a reason to hate. I get that you're young but you don't have to act like it.
okay fine ill watch people watch attack on titan again this show is absolutely wild y'all. buckle up. a lot of nuances that are easy to miss but it's so worth the watch
This is why I cant watch anyone over 30 watch a show. They only ever watched shows before they don't require attention. They make jokes during all serious parts and don't pay attention then say it wasn't that good afterwards like they even gave it a chance.
There are many great performances in this episode that convey the mother's feelings. She is relieved to be able to let go of her children, but fears that her own death is imminent. So when the children are far enough away from her, she involuntarily murmurs, ‘Don't leave me’. And in the face of death, she does not make eye contact with the children. The children will undoubtedly be looking at her. If she does not remove her gaze from the children, she will die with her eyes on them. She avoids it. There are quite a few adults in Japan who grew up watching anime as children and are still watching anime over the age of 60. There are many animated films in Japan that even adults can enjoy. This story is one of them. Please enjoy it to the end.
Ive wanted to do this to my parents for so long 😅 Oooo you guys have an awesome upload schedule im definitely subbing and binging some of these tonight
I feel like they should have watched the dubbed version. As someone who likes a couple shows but isn't super into anime, it's hard for me to get into the subbed versions even though I watch the dubs WITH the subtitles on 🤷🏾♀

Yea I know I wanted them to react a certain way, but still how they reacted was pretty fun to me. And thank you for the positive comments they look through these too.
Its so funny watching them haha. My Parents are exactly the same. Finding it funny when a Huge Titan kickes in a Wall and killing lots of people Laughing at parts where everybodey despairs :D
Watches one episode. "I don't get what's going on." and "It's about people being eaten and having heads ripped off. Why would people like this? " This is my parents' reaction when I try to get them to watch it. I 100% believe that if they just keep watching, they will eventually get hooked. I sincerely hope yall keep uploading these videos so i can see these people go from disliking or misunderstanding the show to being fully engrossed in the story and plot twists.
The key with getting your parents to watch and enjoy anime with you is starting them off with something soft and simple and building up to more gritty darker shows or ones that include fanservice. I started my mom off with MHA and soul eater and that later built to hellsing and ultimate as the first seinens (HxH was mixed in there somewhere but i dont recall if it came before or after) and of course vampire knight to introduce the weirder tropes. Not everything went off without a hitch the first go around (cough vampire knight cough...) but after watching other animes we would loop back to ones we dropped i.e. dorohedoro, devils line, VK, ect. ect. *TLDR if you want your parents to watch AOT with you, watch it with them IN ENGLISH and dont raw dawg heavy series or shows with weird subject matter. Engage them, theorize about what will happen next but dont spoil the show this will help keep interest! overall all you really need to say is "just give it three episodes before you say you hate it"*
You guys cannot go into such a beast and expect to understand what is going on in the first episode. It's a story that stretches out over almost 100 episodes, with certain key episodes and story revelations that change the whole show and its context to even this first episode back here. You need to actually pay attention because a lot of things will remain a big mystery and every answer you get will give you even more questions. And if you just don't then you'll completely miss the answers you're getting because you can't even remember what happened before. Like, did you handle live action shows the same way? Something like Game of Thrones for example?
It caught my attention because they didn't pay attention, the blonde lady (Jill I think it was...) underestimates just because it is a drawing, but there is a long difference between a cartoon for children and one for teenagers/adults. It also caught my attention how they paid more attention to the fact that there were no penises and I think they looked too much at the Colossal Titan's butt. I turn my little eyes towards you e.e. I'll see the next reaction while I clean :D
It’s crazy that in the firts episode future eren it’s in there in the crowd watching the soldiers come back I just love this story so much to be able to create a story like this one is magnificent
I don't know if Studio Gek is the first ones to come up with this sub-genre "haters" of UA-cam reactions -- but regardless I'm guessing this channel was inspired by them? They also started with AoT as their first videos and called themselves "Anime Haters" so I couldn't help to compare you guys.
These people aren't capable of watching anime. Just stop here. They see everything as a joke and this story has way too much depth. I would LOVE to be proven wrong, for the record.
Nice reaction, I think you will understand why were the children like this anime by watching it until the last season. Maybe you can try react on other anime too. Keep it going 💪🔥🔥
Anime community can be quite toxic, likely due to its demographic of teenagers and young adults, so it’s best not to take their negative comments personally.
I'm pretty sure if you make fun of anything that people love you're going to get negative comments. If anything anime fans are soft. Too many weak children. These people seem like the boomers who think AI is real on Facebook.
Anime was "invented" by Osamu Tezuka back in the 1950s, inspired by early Disney films such as Snow White, which is why their eyes are so big. He felt it made their faces look more expressive. So, anime (which is just short for "animation") is really just Japanese Disney that is often intended for teens and adults. Attack on Titan's not one of my favorites either, but it looks good and it's got some good ideas. It's just a bit convoluted and extremely trauma heavy.
I think they would at first but subbed is the better product (to me) and if the problem is "they aren't used to it" then this is the only way to get used to it. Which they've been really good as of now
Please like and subscribe! For those not enjoying their reaction yet, it does get better later on. Hopefully, you will stick around and watch as they become more invested in this great show.

It's actually supposed to be 6 9.9
It also has a higher average episode rating than breaking bad.

I showed my dad (around the same age as this panel) Attack on Titan and I asked when he was fully hooked on the show. Without spoiling, he said it was the episode "Warrior" that really got him invested in the show.
That's a spoil
@@tx6723 you only think it's a spoiler because you understand the context behind the episode name.
@@reapimuhs It's not really a spoiler but kind of is because now they'll be anticpating the episode rather than going in "blind." That's of course if they even saw the comment. But like you said, they also dont know the context. And they'll probably forget lol
@@SlyferXV They don't know when the episode is gonna happen, so not really.
That's actually when I got really hooked too haha
Unexpectedly good and raw reactions lol I have a feeling they will get more serious as the story evolves.. lol I hope 😂
SPOILER ALERT! (we do). 😆
Lol, its not just kids that watch this show. In fact this isnt targeted for kids at all. Its young adult and adults. Im a grown ass man, and I love this show lol.
11:32 if you continue watching the whole thing, you will understand why our entire generation, worldwide like it.
@ Yes, excuse my wording. By “our” I meant the “cross generational” generation (united in loving AOT) if that makes sense 😄
I absolutely LOVE this reaction. It's not like some other reactors who seem to go all in and seem overly interested. This isa truly honest reaction.
wow i imagine it was so hard to arrange for all those different people to attend ,, much respect for the effort .. the reaction is great
Thank you. We love to have fun and laugh together. Now we watch anime together too!😊
"Those are pretty flowers"
BLOOD SPLAAASH!!
Another gold recommendation by UA-cam.
"they didn't show it" dad is dark 🤣🤣
I just can’t wait to see you guys overtime starting to enjoy anime. It’s super great been since I was a kid just subscribed. Keep up the great work do not be phased by the negative comments.
oh DANG, cannot wait to saw you watch all the way through to the end!!!
gonna be the cool older gen if u watch it through the end and understand the whole beauty of it
Showing your mom AOT is a war crime 😂
Lmao
rewatching aot currently with my ma first time i watched the show was on adult swim when i was prolly 8 so its quite the ride seeing how things were hinted at 😭but for context my mom loves the seinens i've shown her and always asks when the next ep of dandadan will be out and is still waiting for more chainsaw man🤣
@codpastcorner1055 oh that is so awesome!
Please keep an open mind continuing the show. All those questions will be answered. This was only episode 1.
And there is a reason why we waited years and years for the ending. There are many twists and hidden messages that only become clear leater in the show
I watched all the seasons with my mom and she loves the show so much
5:41 I was waiting for the "Mikasa su casa" joke. It was subtle but perfect
Yea they probably should have started with dub . Or he should have let them pick if they wanted to watch dub or read sub titles.
This show seems like one thing but the more question it answer the story truly unfolds into a masterpiece that has many similarities to our society today
I'm really envious that you can watching with the whole family 🥲
5:42 hahahahahahaha
as mexican I always have thought in that sentence when I hear "Mikasa".
Your son is correct this is the greatest show. You wont see how great it is untill half of s1. It will start capturing you during s2. It will have a grip on you at s3 and youll be yet another group of humans to repeat the belief this is the greatest show by s4
I appreciate you guys watching this show. Now this show is loved by a lot of people and has a interesting fan base so that's probably why you're getting some opinionated individuals. but alas, enjoy the journey :)
loves the video, loved the fact you watch sub, loved the openness to anime. What a great channel so farn😁😊
Bro im 22 now and i use to say anime is just a cartoon until i wactch it i understand why people like it
Aot is the best anime I've ever seen in my life!!!!!!!!!
All those questions are answered later on during all the seasons... The first season leaves so many unanswered questions. This anime is one of the best I have ever seen. Not only the artwork but the story evolves really well through the seasons.
And the music is top tier!
No offense to anyone, for real.
But the third guy seems like he is really, really fun to be around.
He has "cool uncle" written all over him.
He even made the "Mikasa, Sukasa" joke.
Mikasa Tsukasa is my favorite character lol
The Dad in the orange gets it. =D
"Where is the town located, is it Japan?"
😂😂😂
Wow I can't believe you were able to bring your family to watch aot
A minimum level of intelligence is required to enjoy this anime.
room temp, sure
Hey, keep asking question thats the whole best part . we didint know eaither when we watch it.
just here for the yawn counter 🤣
7:50 the smiling before disaster is killing me 😂
Make sure they know that anime is merely a medium and there are all sorts of stories for all ages including sports, romance, horror, and crime dramas.
Im done here anyway
well, not if they didn't say *"anime looks dumb"* 💀
do you also think that's beyond insult, no?
if the one who say it is 70yo people, I can understand, but a person in their 40s or 50s is just sound wrong.
my biggest red flag is if they say it just because they hate Japan, for historical reason, or something else, cause IDGAF about that.
aside from that, it's fine.
appreciating other work is the key of success.
if they can't even say "this is good" or "it's not bad", then they'll never be succed in this one.
@@YourAveragePredator TLDR. You need to grow up. They're literally here watching anime and you're finding a reason to hate. I get that you're young but you don't have to act like it.
If you think animes are "dumb"
try to see the animated film titled
"COLORFUL" and "GRAVE OF THE FIREFLIES"
giving a old head whos new to anime sub is crazy work🤣
Please pause the videos when it gives information on a still picture. The information is important world building.
okay fine ill watch people watch attack on titan again
this show is absolutely wild y'all. buckle up. a lot of nuances that are easy to miss but it's so worth the watch
私は女性ですが、このアニメはこの先色々と考える深い内容でした。本当に素晴らしいアニメです😊
Are you rockin Kytin Parasole's?! I'm wearing the exact ones right now lol
Yes! I bought them for my hubby who loves to wear shoes in the house.
Anime isn't for everyone and I'm grateful for that fact.
HAHAHA Loved the anime intro for everyone in the crew!
Thanks!😊
the way you say "attack on titanS" is like how my fiance says it and it hurts my soul
anyone over 35 should watch anime in dub
😂 damn
if this group continues to season 4
oh boy
Just finishing season 1. Three more seasons to go! 😊
This is why I cant watch anyone over 30 watch a show. They only ever watched shows before they don't require attention. They make jokes during all serious parts and don't pay attention then say it wasn't that good afterwards like they even gave it a chance.
With 13 reaction episodes published so far, we have definitely given it a chance. Keep watching. You'll see our progress.
Ive wanted to do this to my parents for so long 😅
Oooo you guys have an awesome upload schedule im definitely subbing and binging some of these tonight
You should have let them watch it in English Dub
It's kind of like they're not really watching here. They're hanging out and it's in the background. I'll check the next ep reaction
Keep watching us watching
I feel like they should have watched the dubbed version. As someone who likes a couple shows but isn't super into anime, it's hard for me to get into the subbed versions even though I watch the dubs WITH the subtitles on 🤷🏾♀
He just misunderstood haha that meme kill me 😂🤣
how nice of them all to agree to this! im tuned into this reaction 🎉 i hope they continue! (also, i get the passionate comments lol im also a diehard fan but give them some slack hahah)
Yea I know I wanted them to react a certain way, but still how they reacted was pretty fun to me. And thank you for the positive comments they look through these too.
Thanks for the slack. My kids and their friends have pretty good taste and judgement so i know there has to be something to this show.
Its so funny watching them haha. My Parents are exactly the same. Finding it funny when a Huge Titan kickes in a Wall and killing lots of people Laughing at parts where everybodey despairs :D
😮 sometimes it takes us parents a while to get it. We can be slow at times. We are trying to do better!
Be patient. You are about to have one hell of a ride coming
Engage them, theorize about what will happen next but dont spoil the show this will help keep interest! overall all you really need to say is "just give it three episodes before you say you hate it"*
I’m not into anime but I enjoyed Attack on Titan. Reminds me of the Bible and many biblical lessons.
I never want to hear a boomer say my attention span is ruined again...
Some of us sure have!😊
maybe you should watch the dubbed version .. the dubbed version is really good too and it'll keep your focus on the story
I would suggest watching it in dubs for you first timers that will make it more easily digestible ..... and maybe more Immersive.....
You should definitely watch it in dub, people who aren’t used to watching/reading at the same time will miss a lot!
They've watched a lot of subbed shows just no anime. They are used to it by episode 5
You group are so funny it's nice seeing a different take fuck the comments except mine😊
Carrie couldn't look away😂
I don't know if Studio Gek is the first ones to come up with this sub-genre "haters" of UA-cam reactions -- but regardless I'm guessing this channel was inspired by them?
They also started with AoT as their first videos and called themselves "Anime Haters" so I couldn't help to compare you guys.
That is what inspired me to get them to do it. I love those guys. Except they seemed to turn on episode 1 lol which makes sense.
These people aren't capable of watching anime. Just stop here. They see everything as a joke and this story has way too much depth.
I would LOVE to be proven wrong, for the record.
Keep watching. You'll see our evolution.
Switch to English dubbed so that they can understand better if they can't keep up on reading while watching
They don't understand. 70+ people what could we expect from them
These group of parents look more like they are in their mid to late 50s, not 70+.
11:42 "You've watched one episode"
"One episode too many"
😂
Can we take it back? 😊We werent being very open minded 1st eisode. We have changed our tune since then!
Its actually a fairly complex story, definitely wont grasp anything episode 1
i get the who sub vs dub war... but do you think they will like it better in english?
I think they would at first but subbed is the better product (to me) and if the problem is "they aren't used to it" then this is the only way to get used to it. Which they've been really good as of now
great idea to do video reactions with parents, it makes the younger generation curious about their reactions, keep it up......
This is cool man
