@@Icetea-2000 Keep in mind though that tanks were also incredibly basic. Plus there's no replacement for a bunch of plucky infantrymen ambushing the tank and throwing a few grenades down the hatches. It's one of the reasons I think the FT was so copied and iterated upon as its rotatable turret made it easier to deal with infantry and it's small sized reduced hit probability for all those methods. Still even an early tank would've been a tough nut to crack, just not an impossible one seeing as the war went on for another 2 years after it's introduction without the western front, where they were all deployed, ever changing much.

And also implying that they upgraded the armor enough to at least sustain machine gun and non-AP field gun fire, they could’ve made great bunker busters out of them (in those specific conditions of WW1). Not really that long ago, people were fighting with muskets, swords, and cannons. You can clearly see the landship/mobile bunker inspiration in several models, particularly 2:53, 5:49 and basically all others beyond that point on the video. Wow, that Hetherington would've been the death star of the front if it could have worked. I like how both Russian and American engineers thought up the super heavy tank as a "box with gun". Outstanding music, especially the first song.
Lol it would be a sitting duck. Oh, you just got hit by a shell because you are such a huge and slow target? Now you are fucked. Oh, you just rolled over a mine and now the wheel is damaged? Ha, now the thing will collapse under its own weight.
@@WhatIsLove170 To add on to that, theres nothing protecting the crew on that thing, so even if it could withstand artillery fire, the crew would be a fine red mist.
When Mark IVs appeared for the first time. "GUNTHER." "Yes Ludwig?" "EXPLAIN, WHY ARE THERE ARMOURED PARALLELOGRAMS COMING TOWARDS US?" "Huh what? Are you high or something?"
7:23 "Sir, what shape should we make this tank?" "A shoe box. With a BIIIIIIG gun." "A..... Shoe box.... With a big gun....?" *Raises eyebrow* "Yes." "Oooookay." Lol
One more reason why to love WW1 .... those vehicles and tanks are so unique and crazy... it reminds me carmaggedon. So many different types, so many different ideas and designs.. its interesting to see so many models before they acknowledged and realized what would be the best one and after that this variability kinda disappeared.
It's honestly insane how WW1 weapon designers wanted giant fortresses or dozens of guns on a tank. It really was a more = better mentality. Even small arms had rediculous concepts. I'm sure if you'd shown them the more recent duel barrel m1911 they'd call you a genius and ask if it came in full auto and had 100 round drum mags.
The Austrian made their M1912 pistol to a machine pistol with extended stock and magazine. They made the machine pistol a double barrel. Search doppelpistole m1912 in google
Tbh it was a time when no one knew how a tank should look like until the war broke out, so the designers just went with what they saw best and came up with these things, so now we know how a tank would look and we know what kind of roles and armament it should carry therefore nowadays a new tank takes a lot of time and excruciating planning while back then they took designs very quickly and picked some of the best and went with imagination
Maybe we still don't know what a tank should look like and future generations will laugh at us for never adopting the one true configuration, oversized bike wheels like the tsar tank.
We need a franchise of a world based on a fictional chaotic "aftermath" of the Great "Endless" War (where almost no war participant wishes to sign notoriously lasting peace treaties), where war profiteers and ambitious factions wage great battles worldwide, comprising of most of the armored vehicles shown in this video, being freshly produced and their designs acquired by the surviving armored forces, desperate for the far fetched final victories.
You could tell the designers were having a lot of fun

however a really beautiful video! Complimenti!!!
Wow, great presentation!
some say, the most powerful weapon of ww1 were not any of the tanks, but an italian man called stefano with a pizza and his deadly accuracy in cooking.
Imagine an RTS video game with these vehicles infantery trenches etc. it would be an insta buy for me, cause god damn do these look cool

A tank game just filled with these wacky tanks would be an interesting game for sure
Wait no FT-17, the tank with the most revolutionary and influential tank designs in history, that defined the standard layout modern tanks still uses nowadays ? That's some serious oversight
The video is about "crazy" tanks.
Nobody can say that about ft-17.
@@maximnasurdinov5276 well what's the mark IV doing in here then
Many of the designs aren't crazy and a few were built and used successfully. I think strange looking tanks of ww1 would have been a better title.

Very good. Still needs the FT17 and Char 2c though.
Imagine being the most revolutionary tank in hystory but being forget: Renault FT 17. Just kidding ik after searching all of those something always passes unknown. Good work, anyway!
Thought I might have just missed it but seems it wasn’t actually in there huh.
It seems its one of the only few ww1 tanks who isnt there thats why i missed him, got it?
The Renault ft was the first real tank not the Russian one if it never maid it into production it does not count, leanardo designed tanks but I wouldn't count them also loads of other medieval designs as well some with cannons but the Renault ft is the original gangster.
@@camokoy The Renault ft was the first tank with modern layout however the british mark tanks were the first.

"Roller skate."

"Oh, you'll get it in about 70 years."

Amazing work in there bro!!!! 😃😃😃
Thanks 😁
4:25 this man really did just search up 3D models on sketchup without realising one of them was from an Anime lmao
He obviously did it on purpose, read the description.
@@zedmercury2605 Yep, the thing may look cool, but its completely impractical.

Great video like all the others, also for me especially interesting
4:28 o man thx for this i like Girls und Panzer
Nice video,

@@TjtheSquishyLegomanic Looks like a t-28
Designers: "We'll build a UNSTOPPABLE tank!"
Rain, mud and uneven terrain: *Laughing in natural force*

This exist, and we Call it Warhammer 4k
