I agree I was waiting for Maggie to comment on Rick. For God's sake they have a statue of him in the comics. It's his legacy they're all living. So it's shit that they don't talk about him. It's bullshit because they'd all talk about Michonne and Rick. They were king and queen of Alexandria. If it wasn't for Rick's attitude and so on Eugene wouldn't have done what he did to save them.

Honestly I feel like it made sense for them to not mention Rick if you ask me. I don’t think they’re all out avoiding mentioning him as him and Carl were a big focus with the handprints and Judith in 1105. I just don’t think Maggie or Aaron felt like they needed to explain how Rick took over after Deanna and he then as far as they know died too. Deanna was someone pamela seemed to think positively of and mentioning Rick would only make it seem like our communities lose their leaders and are less formidable to Pamela. Rick is significant to us as to our characters but it wasn’t necessary here. As long as the show remembers it’s past that’s what matters to me and they did that here great with Deanna.
They need to bring back “how many walkers have you killed “ .. imagine if Rick appears with a mask and says to one of the group “how many people /walkers have you killed and why” then they realise it’s Rick . Would be well cool

Eugene has been through a lot recently and he was slowly going crazy. He literally was the reason they communities beat the saviors and he deserves to be happy now.
Deanna fought with her people, she got bit because she didn't put herself above them. Pamela has armed guards everywhere she goes. She places herself above everyone else because others dont have that luxury.
Agree josh about them not mentioning Rick. Daryl could’ve when they were talking about Deanna and Maggie could’ve when she said Deanna and Georgie showed her how to lead. They both could’ve mentioned his name at least! He came in and made Deannas Alexandria better, stronger, and safer
There's a reason why Rick is so sparingly talked about. The moment they name-drop him he immediately becomes the dominating presence over everything else. We even see that without any prodding you both thought of Rick ahead of the current story. You need to allow the story to breathe before dropping the Rick atom bomb. Also, as much as you want to hate Pamela Milton and Lance Hornsby, if you actually process what they're saying outside of only trying to figure out their angle then you might find there's actually a lot of truth to what they're saying.
great reaction, Yeah that was the only thing I didn't like about this episode was that there should have been a mention of Rick, I personally think Maggie made the wrong decision, getting help from the commonwealth just makes sense, at the time she turned it down she was basically saying screw you to Aaron and everyone at Alexandria because the no meant they wouldn't get help either, plus Maggie has a kid and you'd think she would want her kid to know what not starving and not having to fight everyday just to barely live would feel like, also Josh Hamilton is killing it as Lance, I kept going back and forth to him being a good guy or a bad guy, but I feel that last shot seems like he's a bad guy but i'm still not sure
They were trying to put more focus on Dianna because she was someone that Pam was familiar with before the world fell apart. She was Pam's equal from a social class perspective and that has largely been the driving narrative of this season because its been focused on class structure and the struggle between out-of-touch politicians and the working class that lives a mediocre life in comparison to the Elites of the commonwealth. Dianna is largely responsible for the continued survival of our heroes in the show. She provided them a relatively safe home with large walls, she rebuilt their faith and trust in humanity. She saved Rick from completely losing himself. She showed Maggie that she has leadership qualities and restored her confidence. Dianna wasn't perfect by any means, but she did provide them all with hope and purpose and if she hadn't put her trust in Ricks group, it likely would have resulted in Alexandria eventually being taken over and killed by The Wolves or Saviors and the longer Ricks group was out on the road, the higher the chance they'd continue dying off or losing their minds and going down darker paths. None of this is to downplay Ricks role within the community and continued survival because without him, they'd all be dead by now with the exception of Darryl, maybe. lol But it was Dianna that planted all the seeds that kept the communities growing even long after her death.
I just rewatched no way out today, and Sasha and Abraham came in with machine guns and saved Glen with moving their arms like cartoons. no crossfire. Glen was unscathed. My daughter watched with me for the first time and asked “so does it not matter if the walker blood gets I the mouth and eyes?”. I said “ we just have to look past some things.”
without rick i dont think alexandria would exist no? the dam where all the walkers were trapped and would have broken through and mowed them down completly without their knowledge.. i feel like the writers really need to take some notes from marvel and how they drop teasers and fan service into their content because it really feels they do a disservice to the fans with what they do currently.
I think when Lance and Maggie were talking on the steps of the house he almost had her convinced to say yes then that herd came and she saw the military precision of the stormtroopers and it made her say no. And is anyone else wondering if that herd was brought in by the stormtroopers so that they could take them out and Lance and Pamela could be like "see you need us, you can't take care of this on our own".
When they were talking in the tent Pamela mentioned that Lance has been this way "all our lives". Are they brother and sister? Also his "remake the world" comment is very CRM-ish.

The show looks different also in the comic when the commonwealth is in, but trust me it's gonna be good. Our heroes will be busy not only killing walkers or fighting others groups. I love this part of the show 😉
Listen, that episode was a clear indication that they don't want the fans focusing on Rick. They said it: "there is a lot of story to tell" and its obvious that they are focusing on the other characters. They don't want us focusing on Rick.

The episodes keep on getting more interesting it’s a pretty different feeling in a nice way! I’d love to see a few more battles before peace comes though. I’m glad we had one Great War with the reapers! I feel like we fans need more though.
I know it's not true but I keep thinking NO mention of Rick bc they want us to forget. In WB Jadis said "someone valuable" which left the door open for really anyone. As far as we know there isn't even a script for the movies. I keep thinking all these spinoffs are to see what the viewers like more and to see exactly what direction they want to take? Hence different stories and different people different locations. I hope this isn't true but it's a thought in the back of my mind.
*in my opinion* I think Maggie’s leadership role is slipping away from her. She isn’t in a position to be a leader right now because of all the trauma she has recently gone through. She isn’t making very good decisions, at least not ones that will help her community. Hilltop is obviously barely scraping by. She needed to make that alliance, at for now, to help her community. She shouldn’t be surprised that people walked. She let her paranoia cloud her judgement. Also, I really think Aaron needs to be careful. I love Aaron and I don’t like how closely he is working with Lance. Lance was giving me creepy Governor-esque vibes and that scares me for Aaron’s sake.

Not mentioning Rick to Pamela is a measured omission, with other groups knowing the relationships and leadership structure has lead to targeted conflict in the past. Daryl isn’t the only person trying to protect and care for Judith, RJ, Hershel, and Gracie. It would be a failure on the part of everyone if Hornsby or Milton were to manipulate and abuse the children of the OG’s like Negan did with Carl and Judith, and that was while their parents were still around.

A stalker admires or even adores their victim but that doesn’t negate the fact that their behavior is abusive. First time Negan meets Carl he kills two role models, then tries to get his own father to chop off his hand, when Carl tries to take him out he makes him walk around for more than a day without his eyepatch regardless of the obvious discomfort Carl is enduring. Look at the entire spaghetti dinner scene and watch Carl and the inventory lady’s expressions, he may not be beating them but it’s still abusive.

Alexandria has been around for 12 years. Rick was there less than 2 years.

But still they appear to be about the same age...he would have been at least 18 when he started working for her family...and then she couldn't really say he's been any kind of way their "whole lives". I haven't read the comic this far, so I don't know if it's ever something that's important, just caught my attention when she said it.

Listen, that episode was a clear indication that they don't want the fans focusing on Rick. They said it: "there is a lot of story to tell" and its obvious that they are focusing on the other characters. They don't want us focusing on Rick.

He spent all this time falling in love with his woman who didn’t know anything about what they shared. He didn’t notice that her voice was different or anything. It must have seemed like what they shared wasn’t really special to Eugene. I’m just glad that now that everything is out in the open, they can have another chance at it.

The episodes keep on getting more interesting it’s a pretty different feeling in a nice way! I’d love to see a few more battles before peace comes though. I’m glad we had one Great War with the reapers! I feel like we fans need more though.
I know it's not true but I keep thinking NO mention of Rick bc they want us to forget. In WB Jadis said "someone valuable" which left the door open for really anyone. As far as we know there isn't even a script for the movies. I keep thinking all these spinoffs are to see what the viewers like more and to see exactly what direction they want to take? Hence different stories and different people different locations. I hope this isn't true but it's a thought in the back of my mind.
*in my opinion* I think Maggie’s leadership role is slipping away from her. She isn’t in a position to be a leader right now because of all the trauma she has recently gone through. She isn’t making very good decisions, at least not ones that will help her community. Hilltop is obviously barely scraping by. She needed to make that alliance, at for now, to help her community. She shouldn’t be surprised that people walked. She let her paranoia cloud her judgement.
Also, I really think Aaron needs to be careful. I love Aaron and I don’t like how closely he is working with Lance. Lance was giving me creepy Governor-esque vibes and that scares me for Aaron’s sake.

I agree that it was a missed opportunity to mention Rick. Daryl could have at least referenced “his brother” while talking with Pamela.
It seems improbable that Eugene never once brought up any of the topics he discussed with Stephanie/Max on the radio, while speaking with Stephanie/Shira, so maybe Stephanie/Shira was filled in on what they discussed. If so, that’s a terrible violation of privacy but would explain things.

Not mentioning Rick to Pamela is a measured omission, with other groups knowing the relationships and leadership structure has lead to targeted conflict in the past. Daryl isn’t the only person trying to protect and care for Judith, RJ, Hershel, and Gracie. It would be a failure on the part of everyone if Hornsby or Milton were to manipulate and abuse the children of the OG’s like Negan did with Carl and Judith, and that was while their parents were still around.

A stalker admires or even adores their victim but that doesn’t negate the fact that their behavior is abusive. First time Negan meets Carl he kills two role models, then tries to get his own father to chop off his hand, when Carl tries to take him out he makes him walk around for more than a day without his eyepatch regardless of the obvious discomfort Carl is enduring. Look at the entire spaghetti dinner scene and watch Carl and the inventory lady’s expressions, he may not be beating them but it’s still abusive.

Why they make it seem as if this situation was Eugene's fault? They're the ones that pulled this rules on him but now they're making it seem like it was on him and now she angry at him they playing Eugene as a simp and he need to wake up and leave the whole place!
She is mad at Eugene because he didn’t know the fake Stephanie wasn’t her. I wonder what him and Shira talked about because she wouldn’t have known about all the stuff he talked about with Max.
Just like Eugene was hurt, Max was hurt by Eugene not realizing the other chick was fake.
Max wasn’t at fault either and couldn’t step forward out of fear Lance would discover she was on the radio. Then she felt hurt, that Eugene was happy with this fake chick who was nothing like the woman he got to know over the radio.
They are both slowly moving past their hurts, so I think they’ll be fine.
Becuase she feels after months of talking and sharing everything, he should've known the difference between the two women. Especially after spending weeks with the other woman.
They’re taking the show on this “girl power” trip right now. It’s kinda getting ridiculous at this point. There aren’t THAT many dr. Quinn medicine women left out there. I think they’re keep rick out of the spotlight, if at least only for now. I’m not saying I don’t like each character or story line on their own, it’s just there are so many going on at the same time that it’s kinda obvious. Btw, i did the same thing with that stupid “crossfire” scene. I already suspend my disbelief in general with the show, but that scene was so ridiculously bad. Also include all of the locations that have been mentioned in all series? I think this would be very interesting and it would be great to be able to find that info (when and where) in one place. Right now I have to move around everywhere to find pieces of that info. I think major fans would really appreciate it & like a video like that. And if not, just do it for me LOL.
