if you want to be a better friend than Mark come check out my movie reviews 🥲ua-cam.com/video/dzQmBOLjqnk/v-deo.html
A lot of people say the opening scene is fantastic but the final scene is brilliant. Mark does what we all do on any social media. In the end it’s heartbreaking.
and the music is another level
A heartbreaking youngest billionaire.
"You're not an asshole, Mark. You're just trying so hard to be." Legendary line
Shows he is genius but he disconnected from 98% humans and when they don’t likes him he turns nasty but i I think he deep inside hates how he can’t communicate with people without upsetting them. What he did to Edwardo was evil, the guy seemed to be the best friend he ever had
Dash DriverUK, Mark is me🥺🥺
Sorry but can't give mark any benefit of the doubt he betrayed his friend something I could never forgive.
@@greer91 at the beginning when his gf dumped him he never recovered it showed his true self the rest of the movie is just him trying to hide it but both Sean and Eduardo saw though him the big difference is one used it for person gain the other tried to help his best friend
@@greer91 I think Mark is a flawed human being. He's done some pretty shitty things like screwing over Eduardo, making that atrocious blog about Erica, deceiving the Wincolvi (I think) brothers and then outright spitting in their faces when they try to get justifiable legal action, etc., but he isn't a one-dimensional piece of shit. He has problems, and has his redeeming moments. I think that's what makes him such an interesting character to think about
Eduardo was a good person.
This goes to show that you’re not a bad guy but rather a bad friend, which is way worse
Love how the film started and ended with Erica. Since it all started with her breaking up with him.
exactly. his only motivation that defines his character is his ego and how his ego is so large it pushes away everyone he cares about and instead of taking the time to learn how to be a better person he chose to pursue money and power in a futile attempt to fill the hole inside him but in the end it dosen't work and he's back where he started... with the one that got away
That was a coincidence but all those events just described mark what type of person he is. He cared more about social media because he knew someday he would have power to get users like a drug dealer who needs addicts to buy
“I’m not a bad guy”
Said just about every villain ever.
The man who changed the world. The man behind young people's frustration, depression and everything around social media people are not outgoing anymore. I wish Facebook and Instagram were never invented.
Instagram? Why?
Instagram was great before it was acquired by Facebook. Then they ruined it by adding further features like stories and reels, removing the photo map feature, adding functionality to allow businesses on there and everything that’s led to the mass content driven feed we see today.
😂😂😂 instagram is a platform for phony stupid people to thrive and evolve further into degenerative beings
Okay here it goes I just hope you mean your words I think meta x definitely tiktok(I am surprised to see a social media internet service to grow with speech and other important right obliterated) maybe alphabet Inc 🤣 I am clueless about twitch and snap Inc can handle online harrasment and online terrorism with a better effect
That statement means nothing cause even if he never existed someone else could have created the same type of social media sight and the world would still be the way it is regardless
She's the one friend everybody needs in life. Someone who's honest and approachable.
I like the fact she says I could get a jury to believe you planted that story about Eduardo and the chicken. She basically telling him you maybe smart but you have no social skills ,you are terrible at lying which is why you let yourself get manipulated by Sean so easily cause he acted like he knew everything when I'm reality it was all an illusion and it cost you a lot but most of all your best friend
In the end it’s like citizen Kane
He get’s exactly what he wants but not what he needs
The Citizen Kane of John Hughes movies.
All Mark wanted was to be loved :(
The numbers were already unbelievable when the movie came out in 2010 hence making one
But watching now in 2022 it just mind blowing how insignificant the numbers are then compared to now
Hilarious juxtaposition of the describing Mark as the youngest billionaire, achieving far beyond what he had ever hoped, while showing his face of longing.
Notice that throughout the movie the gorgeous Marilyn tries to connect with Mark, and even expresses her admiration for him (for example, there's a previous scene where Mark clarifies that Facemash got 22k clics), but he keeps ignoring her. At the end of the film, when he is alone, all by himself, Marilyn appears again and this time he invites her to dinner, but now she dismisses him. That "I can´t" is a polite way to say "I have learned everything that you have done, the way you act, your arrogance and coldness, I have met the real you. And now you are asking me to have dinner with you? Honest, I can't". And then Mark's sad expression that communicates "yeah, I know. You don't like me." Crushing.
Bro maybe she already found multiple sugar daddies to take care of her already so she was settled for good
To an extent, I think she was just being polite when offering him some her lunch. It's more of Mark here sees it as an opportunity to progress, but see's the reality of it. Guys (myself included when I was younger) tend to takes things like politeness, casual interest from women as signs of possible romantic interest (and sometimes it is), that's just how we're wired. Her character here likely knows better than to get interpersonally involved with a client. But it's no accident that she has a resemblance to Erika.

Erica is right Mark is a successful computer person
And she use Facebook which her ex boyfriend who called her a bitch on the internet built 😂 😂
One of the greatest movies of all time
Thank you David Fincher, Jessie Einsenberg, Aronn Sorkin and all crew
It's hilarious that one of the points of Facebook's success is the fact that it didn't have ads back then. 🤣
Take the movie as entertainment value (without giving too much thought to the “accuracy” of the real story) and it is, still, a fabulous psychological study of a brilliant, but complicated, character…
3:56 As of December 31, 2021, the current value is 962 billion
That’s insane bro
Yeah I guess 65 million to those two twins was a speeding ticket. Hope they used it to improve themselves because they weren’t even trying in Beijing
@@Batou3 The twins are doing just fine. As of today they have a combined net worth of 6 Billion dollars. Them being mixed up in this Facebook fight isn't a coincidence. The best way for them to prove they were telling the truth was by doing the exact same thing again with another idea. In hindsight, most people believe THEIR story was somewhat credible.
And the membership count is now 3 billion (instead of 500 million). So let's think about this, the valuation of the company has increased by 40 times but the userbase has only increased by 6 times. Hmmm...
Masterpiece!
I miss the old facebook format. Its so clean
The ending is just truly Heart-breaking 💔
This is just smart, I like it when things are smart. Circle of life kind of thing. Am I right?!?
And we can't even enjoy The Beatles at the end!!!!!
The deep driving root of this story, and why it's such a relatable draw is because of its the quest for social status, everyone wants to be accepted (it's human nature) by their peers. The arc is Mark gets the status he desired, but does not have a single friend. The pursuit of elite social status is a lonely one.
How does it feel to be one of the beautiful people?
In reality this would just be Mark Zuckerberg reading the personal DM's of his ex. You are incredibly naïve to think he didn't do this.
Can’t wait for the sequel
Tiktok
I’m literally here for the “sound” what the actual fuck
They’re super strict when it comes to Beatles music
Good movie
Too bad he didn’t a chance with her.
Marylin or Erica?
Well the real-life Mark seems happy with Priscilla
Erica didn't exist
@@preciouspayne3188the beginning of the movie with Facemash, Erica existed but had a different name (I can’t remember was the girls name was). It was in his blog post that night when he made Facemash (those blog posts existed). After that, he was with his now wife, so the rest is a fabrication. He wasn’t pining after his ex.
Well, there might be a lot of things he did wrong. But the most important is, in the end he dared to connect.
I think Mark Zuckerberg kinda likes this movie.
Hahahahaha she said no to the dinner ask
I thought it was just to show that no matter how much money and success he achieved he was still just trying to get Erica's approval.
Im sorry, as brilliant as this movie is, you cant convince me that mark isnt an asshole
“Look you can’t take away peoples right to be assholes.” Wesley Snipes
So the fake Mark was never able to move on with his life and kept waiting for Erica's approval until the end of time, while the real Mark is married and has children.
Seconds
Are there 207 countries in the world? I thought there were 195.
It changes every year.
Not including the ones the UN doesn’t formally recognize
mark called the police on Sean?!
No. The police came, because a noise complaint was reported by the neighbors and they discovered the drug use while they were sending everyone home. Sean happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time and that’s what got him in trouble and Mark fired Sean when he found out what happened.
He didn't. All she said was to bring a possible idea to the jury. It didn't need to be true

Dude was so pathetic he hired lawyers who just wanted some money to help him get off the shit mess he caused and he actually thought he was going to get off the hook lol
Why was he obsessed with trying to get back into Erica’s good graces? I know this part of the movie is fictional but who cares? Dude was worth billions at this point. What did he care about his ex-girlfriend back in college? Was it because she rejected him?
Because even though he was worth billions she didn't reach out at all I think. Rejection hurts especially when you feel like you own the world but the one person you want won't give you the time.
This part was made for the movie. I believe he was already married when these events took place in real life.
The type of personality Zuckerberg and his ilk have doesn't think it should ever hear no for reasons that can't be mechanistically quantified. It's why he got so upset when she mentioned his complete lack of charisma; it reminds the narcissist autist that other people aren't the problem--*they* are
wow you missed the entire message of the film 😑
She was the only person who constantly looked down on him despite his achievements due to how he trashed her image. From the beginning, she wasn't willing to put up with Mark's bullshit and that stuck with him since everybody else around him constantly stroked his ego. Remember when he got sex from a groupie in the restroom of a restaurant just because he was the CEO of Facebook? He felt like he was on top of the world and yet in that same scene he approaches Erica and she won't even give him a minute to apologize. Then he immediately tells Eduardo they HAVE to expand and keep going, all because Erica made him feel like shit instead of groveling at his feet like other girls. I'm no therapist but Mark in this film shows classic signs of having a superiority complex, proven to me in the very first scene with Erica when he talks down to her because he's going to get somehow get into the Procellain Club.
Erica is the true villain
If it wasnt from Erica, the twins' friend wouldnt have introduced him to their website and stole the whole idea which is nicer.
Why did mark screw Edward over?
Sean's idea after Eduardo froze the company bank account
@@Cristian_Adejandro98 There was more to it. It was also because of his jealousy towards Eduardo when he made the Phoenix and he couldn't
Never, never question the brilliance of David Fincher
She is such a baddie in this film bro
