Reviewers seem to always forget to mention that. That is a huge point. All that extra horsepower and torque, especially if you want to tow something. They also always seem to forget to mention the adoptive headlights.
Thanks, great review, although would have really liked to see it perform on the snow since you already have snow. Few mentions, the front definitely has fakeness, the inner "headlights" are just plastic lenses that are empty, don't recall if the inner halos light up, I thought those are fake too. The 256hp you mentioned is from the same engine when you use 93 octane fuel, nice that it gives a choice of regular or premium. The big 'elephant in the cabin' is Mazda's decision to reverse the phone and cup holder places, the phone isn't where it should be and you cannot put anything but a coffee cup in the cup holders, forget the water bottle. It's as if they went different for the sake of different, still trying to understand the reason behind it.
I think you sold me. Many reviewers complain about the infotainment system, but I think I would like it. I currently drive a 2017 Countryman which has BMW iDrive (it’s called something different on Mini, but it’s the same thing) and once you’re used to it, I think the Center knob is better. People say it’s distracting, but I find you can use it without taking your eyes of the road, which I don’t find with touch screens. Not a fan of touch screens, have had many rental cars with them including a Tesla 3 where EVERYTHING is on the touch screen. I wanted to light the thing on fire after driving it a week. Love that physical volume knob and the physical ventilation controls. These are things I don’t want to have to go into menus and and submenus to operate. Love the styling and the premium interior. In the market for a new car and I don’t like the new minis and the bimmers are too expensive and they both have gotten a little to “techy” for my tastes. I want a car, not an iPhone on wheels and this seems like it would scratch me right where I itch.
I guess this model didn’t have the head up display and the wireless charger. Because the model before EV suppose to include those items as standard. Also ventilation option too.
Love Mazda... My 2 has been a reliable friend for 11 years... The wife wants to get an Audi Q3, im trying to change her mind...I really don't care about luxury brands. This is the shit!
CX-70 vs CX-90. I agree with you about the sportier styling of the CX-70. I would like to have that on a CX-90. Just fold the third row down and bob's yer uncle. Because Mazda didn't change the location of the 2nd row, you don't get the benefit of the CX-70 being a "2 row MIDSIZE SUV", i.e. you don't get more room for the 2nd row passengers. Which, aside from styling, makes the CX-90 a better deal because it will have better resale.
Just bought a Preferred for 12,000 less and it is great. If you pay 43,000 you are not concerned with gas milage. Stay away from the 20" wheels on these they ride terribly.
Please think twice prior to choosing red color. It chips so easily. I own 2023 cx50 turbo red for 16 month and 24k miles. I have couple complains about fragile paint, bumpy ride off paved roads, …. But the handling and right amount of power of this car/suv is simply superb.
It is, although you can probably get more off MSRP with the CX-90 than the CX-50. The CX-50 Turbo has better power to weight than the CX-90 Turbo. The CX-90 Turbo S has better power to weight than either. Basically, smaller more active package vs bigger and a bit more luxurious.
@johnsanford3596 I own a CX90 preferred plus; bought it at the request of my daughter last year whom I'm giving the car to this weekend. I liked it although it is a bit big for my needs. I liked the CX50 Turbo. Bought a Crown Signia to replace the Mazda mostly because I'm likely to give it to a different daughter maybe next year.
I'm perplexed why Mazda can't offer more power out of a 2.5 turbo four cylinder with regular fuel 🤷🏽♂️ Ford offers a 2.0 turbo 4 cylinder for years with 250hp and 275lbs of torque on regular gas. The 2.3 offers 300hp and 310lbs of torque on regular fuel. So why wouldn't a turbo 2.5 four cylinder make more power like 350hp and 370lb of torque or more 🤦♂️
Most likely longevity of the engine. I'm sure they could squeeze more power and shorten the life of the engine parts. Plus, this model and its target buyer doesn't need more. A bigger first gear would be more welcome
I agreed on this issue. I understand that Mazda wants their infotainment screens to work like an old school Mercedes-Benz or BMW. But Mercedes-Benz and BMW moved beyond those type of infotainment screams and buttons in most of their models, and they use more modern and touchscreen. Mazda is stuck in the past when it comes to the infotainment buttons. They claim it’s for safety reasons and style, but it saves them money instead of a more modern advance touch screen. Most Americans 15 years ago would be okay with this set up, but today almost every other car manufacturer has advanced touchscreen infotainment screens and the consumer wants that. I still like the touch screen for physical buttons on the air condition system and other key features. But Mazda is lacking a modern infotainment screens system.
Their infotainment system is the most stupid one on the market-the non-touch system is dumb. Mazda makes nice-looking vehicles, and they are nice to drive-it feels sold. We owned the CZX5 and sold it because of the stupid non-touch screen with the stupid wheel "thing" you have to turn to select what you want. My wife loved everything else about her Mazda, but we ended up trading the Mazda for an F-Pace, which has touch-screen functions.
Completely agree, the Mazda line up is amazing. It shows they put their heart and soul into the design.
Pretty car. Looks muscular but still has good curves.
Also that red is just the best red.
I own a 2023 CX-50 TPP and its really fun to drive
227 hp with regular gas, 256 hp with premium.

it takes regular gas with the turbo also? 🤔
@@cire06.yes it does, as he stated, just less power with regular gas.
@cire06. Yes
Your review is amazing. Your excitement shows and it makes the video awesome. Not sure if you had courses in how to do this but it shows.
7:30 nerdy fact - the pulsation is based on human heartbeat
Inflation is crazy that car isn't work 43k
I own a mazda as does my daughter. The round controller dial is way better than a touchscreen.
Agree 100%.Faster and much safer.
@@ChicagoRob2 and cleaner! no greasy finger prints.
Agree
Majority of people don't like it.

Having owned two Miatas and a 3, I’m a fan of Mazda. When I get out of this Ford Mustang Mach-E GT, I’m going for the CX-50 Turbo or Hybrid.
I just went to settings and changed mine to enable touch screen. There are several UA-cams on how to do this on a CX 50.
Mazda cx50 all the way simply love the look😊

Could you share more on the wheels please? Is it the tires that are not great or an issue with rims?
How comfortable are the seats? Does the middle of the seat stitching bother you?
That’s my next vehicle.

Or 256 hp!!! Huge selling point! Sad you didn't mention that.
Hyper accurate title
For US$43,000 you are pretty close to a CX90 Preferred Plus

This is the cx-50 that has 256 horse power all you have to do is go to the gas station and fill up on premium
The engine and transmission are made in Japan, while everything else is assembled in the US.

It's a great video try to make one of Honda Odyssey
256 hp not 237
👍🏻
I watched comments about the sits are hard as a rock, very uncomfortable 😣
What about next generation CX-5
Look it's a Ferrari SUV
For me every Mazda looks the same
Too bad Mazda just refuses to put in proper infotainment screens instead of that tiny slab of a screen.
