The knob is superior. It’s so much easier than leaning forward and trying to tap small icons while you’re driving. Once you get used to it there’s no going back. It’s my favorite feature honestly
You are 10000000% correct. Not only that, but everyone I know that doesn't have a commander knob, always has gross fingerprints all over their screen. My screen totally clean.
It feels very familiar to me already because I'm coming from a BMW 330i. It's way easier and safer to navigate compared to touching a big tablet like in the Subaru's. Saying goodbye to the F30 tomorrow 😢but picking up my new 2025 Meridian w/ Apex package tomorrow 😍
💯!! Just got mine a month ago and LOVE it! I’ve been sleeping on Mazda for years and ever since I got one, now I see it everywhere. Don’t know how I missed it for so long.
Just passed 5k miles on our '25 CX-50 Turbo Premium in wind chill pearl. You said it right, its not too high... Not too low... And really fun to drive around town.
This is a really nice looking SUV inside and out, some say the CX-5 is the better way to go but I think either one of them would be a really nice daily driver SUV.
Joe, you and Lori are the best in the business, my man. BTW - I've owned pretty much this exact CX-50 (even the color of mine is the same) for about a year and a half and I have to say it does everything well. I've been extremely happy with it.
Once Mazda has hybrid models for most of their vehicles they’re going to be the best economical brand. They just need to go ahead and bring their trucks to the US too.
The hybrid version of this has the engine and drive train pulled right out of the RAV4, meaning you also get the CVT. A Mazda with a CVT. What the fuck.
Thanks for the great in-depth review Joe. I love your style and presentation with a little humour thrown into the mix. I have a 2024 CX50 turbo in the windchill pearl and terracotta interior. I love everything about it but I am tempted to trade it in on the CX50 with the Toyota hybrid system for its great MPG. I also considered the NX350h. I know you reviewed both the CX50 hybrid and the NX350h and would like to know if you think the NX350h is worth the extra money over the CX50 turbo or CX50 hybrid ? TIA
Joe, I'm not sure how tall you are, but it would be really cool to see you actually getting in and out of the vehicles and making that a part of your videos. That's especially important for vehicles like this CX50 that is 4-5 inches lower than other SUVs/ crossovers. Love your videos.....keep up the good work!
You don’t have the top trim so no zonk on the camera. The turbo premium plus (top trim) does have it. I’ll also add that even though the interior “looks” premium the materials are not premium. Mazda did a great job creating that illusion, and that’s not a dig. The CX50 is awesome!
A buddy of mine picked up a 2024 Premium version, and he keeps telling me how fun and good this car his. I might upgrade to an hybrid Mazda myself in coming years coming from a 2021 Trailblazer activ.
Mazdas are very elegant but simple cars yes they are stubborn with no touch screen while all the other cars out there in 2024-5 have dual screens and touch. I wish most cars will add ambient lighting in lower trims more then stitching
2025 Mazda CX-50 Select trim is the best value. I just bought one and already drove it up to the national forest for a weekend getaway and it was flawless. I don’t need all the added options on the higher tier trims.
I do love this Mazda cx30 and I feel like this is one dandy of a car. I want to wish you and Lori a merry Christmas and I hope you guys do a lot more reviews in this upcoming year
@@JacobDecker-u4i for 2025 it’s either the Meridian, premium or premium plus on the turbo models. And they’ve added features that the premium plus had to the Meridian and the premium version.
We personally passed on this a couple months ago for my wife’s new cx5 Carbon addition. she nor i liked the cx50 it was just too squatty and flared out looking with too much clatting. We did like the center console better but that was about it. After living with it for 2 months we hate the knob only controls for the infotainment screen we use apple CarPlay and touch works about half the time for some reason we have tried her phone and mine same problem. I’d prefer a full time touchscreen.
Yeah I'm a big Zoom Zoom fan myself, I graduated from highschool in 2000, so I think that might've been right before they started it. I don't think we still had the car when it was going on, but yeah I really enjoyed those commercials. The RX-8 in the X Men movie was also pretty inspirational too though.😕🙂🤓😎🤠😏👍✌️👋👏💪🌾🍀🌿🍃🇺🇸
Joe, don't worry about the confession.rubix cubes were difficult for most people anyways.we don't hold it against you😅😅😅 Whenever you get a chance try and see if you can review a Buick Regal Tour X. It's a car i have driven before, considering buying right now. Nice thing about it it's an AWD WAGON and the 2.0L turbo four is very responsive to tuning
Joe, when it comes time to replace my tires on my CX 50, I think I’m gonna go for a Michelin brand as opposed to the current Goodyear Eagles that are on it. I used to have the Michelin brand on my Lexus RX 350.
I prefer the direct drive to touch screen myself. Have owned Mazdas for the past 10 years as well as BMWs the last 15. So much easier to use without taking your eyes off the road.
@@Emadjazem this one does have the heads up display, Joe said it earlier in the video. I’m not sure about the 360 camera because they have added things to the Meridian and the premium trim that were only available on the premium plus trim for 2025.
9:46 3 months in to my CX50 TPP, and after a recent 4500 mile road trip, I also love the control knob. The muscle memory develops quickly. You can also use Siri and Alexa voice commands. It’s a great car.
Someone on here on the comment section said that the premium trim which Joe is driving does have a front camera so I’m not sure why it would not have a 360 camera. You might want to check Mazda‘s website because they did add some features to the Meridian and premium trims that the premium plus trim has for 2025.
To me, and this is a personal opinion, the RDX technology package is missing things that you get on the Mazda that’s almost on their base level Mazda trims, such as rain sensing wipers. That’s just an example.
Maybe the build quality will be better for the 3rd yr of production. So disappointing the turbo has awful stop/start.(don’t care that u can turn it off) The non turbo doesn’t have that garbage.

Unfortunately a year or so after I graduated, someone car jacked me at a gas station. Joe reviewing a cx50 is a Christmas present to me
My wife just got the same one same color and she loves it two weeks ago.
The 25’ Mazda CX50 hybrid, shares the same power plant and drivetrain as the Toyota rav 4 hybrid. I had one as a loaner, it was great.
Everywhere I look these days it's a CX-5 or CX-50. Crazy how popular Mazda has become
2024 CX-5 Signature here. Spot on lol. I didn’t realize how many CX-5s were out there until I got mine then started spotting them EVERYWHERE.

Yes, they are doing great job!!I used to have mazda 3 2012, now cx5 2018, and looking to upgrate to cx90.hopefully soon !! They're amazing!!!
