I just love how castle gets quieter as he pleads with the guy. Then quiet. Eyes close as he realizes what he has to do to get the info from the guy. then silence. then screaming and pleading.
Beckett can‘t blame Castle for what he did to the driver of the men who kidnapped Castle‘s daughter and a friend of hers. How would Beckett feel if she saw Castle torture the man who drove the van for the men who kidnapped Alexis and her friend?
Nathan Fillion is brilliant in this scene. What I am about to tell you, is what I saw take place in this scene, and is what I and any father should do for their child. If my daughter was kidnapped and I was in the same situation as Castle. My children are my soul made corporeal. If anybody did anything to hurt them. It is like a switch turns off. Any sense of humanity, my very soul is gone until I can hold them in my arms and know they are safe.
When Rick closes his eyes, I can just imagine he is hearing his Daughter as a little girl saying "Daddy". And that was the tipping point. Not one thing, not one person was going to get in the way. The whimsical side of him turned off. Years of writing murder mysteries flooding his head with ideas. The rage of a fathers love took over.
“If you touch me, I’ll press charges.” Heh. Heh heh. Hahahaha!! In what universe would the jury EVER side with the kidnapper? Oh I’m sure they’d find the distraught father guilty. Probably make castle pay a $1.00 fine and a whole hour of community service.
How would Ryan,Esposito,Lanie,Captain Gates & everyone at the 12th precinct feel if they heard that Castle tortured a suspect in the kidnapping of Castle's daughter and her friend, even though the guy was just a driver? Good thing that Beckett didn't have the heart to give Castle away after what happened to Alexis & her friend.
I'm pretty sure Ryan and Espo would have helped if it meant Alexis came home quicker. And Lanie was Alexis' friend, she would have probably given Castle tips on what parts to target.
I doubt they would have blamed Castle. Hell, If anything they might have a whole new viewpoint about him. While he acts clownish in general, he's not man to be trifled with if his family is threatened. The van driver learned this lesson the hard way. You could tell he was in a tough spot. If he talked, his bosses would kill him. If he didn't talk, Castle would probably separate his head bone from his neck bone. Talk about a rock and a hard place.

You know what scared me when I first saw this? When Castle closed and then opened his eyes, revealing there was no light in them. It was like his soul took a backseat to his rage and fury.
Castle sure wasn't afraid to torture a suspect who kidnapped Alexis & her friend after seeing that the suspect had shown no remorse for kidnapping those 2 girls knowing that they didn't do anything to him to deserve being kidnapped in the first place, and that Castle didn't care if he was going to be sued by the suspect or not for torturing him to get information about where the kidnapper took the girls.

Even if Beckett or Castle told the kidnapper of Alexis & her friend that they didn't do a thing to him to deserve to be kidnapped, he would still show remorse until Castle had to get rough on him to make him give him an answer.
Bad men who do bad things need to be reminded that a lot of times the cops are there to protect them from the good men who have had enough and are not going to care about "justice" or the rights of the accused
At 2:34 the old Castle just died within himself. When his eyes opened again, the new Castle had emerged. To me, it seemed as if he had to kill a part of himself so that he could do what he had to do in order to save his daughter.

We don't get any kind of video of them at all during that short period when the perp is screaming. We just let our imagination run and assume that Castle is torturing him somehow. We don't see the perp afterwards.
@@rickhudson9900 Castle wouldn't have needed to get very creative. Pushing a few knuckles into the guy's chest wound would probably be enough to make him talk.
adding to the "don't show it; let the audience imagination fill the gaps in" is that it is just before the commercial break. We just get screaming, Beckett's reaction, and then smash to ads about dinner at Chili's and insurance ads for a couple of minutes. We have no idea what he did to the man or for how long. And his cold "I appealed to his humanity" answer to Beckett asking what he did made the audience imagination bit wilder because a) the police legit left them alone for however long it took for Richard to get answers about his little girl, and b) any other time, Castle would be _super_ eager to share how he did something, said a thing, or came to some sort of conclusion. Here, he didn't want to explain anything. Likely one half plausible deniability and the other half "If I tell you, you'll think differently of me after." It's similar to one of my favorite moments from Justice League Unlimited, where there was a time alteration plot point where "current day" Batman meets Old Bruce from Batman Beyond. The younger Batman interrogates one of the members of The Jokerz unsuccessfully, which causes Old Bruce to reply: "I can't believe I was ever this green! *THIS* is how you interrogate someone...!!" :commercial break: Then when the ads end, the goon is spilling his entire life story to Old Bruce with fear on his face. We never see what happened, and we are left to wonder what the older version was capable of even doing in that time that the younger version apparently wasn't.

I go to war, you'll see something new!
The guest actor is good too.
Even if Beckett or Castle told the kidnapper of Alexis & her friend that they didn't do a thing to him to deserve to be kidnapped, he would still show remorse until Castle had to get rough on him to make him give him an answer.
Castle, eyes shut, Captain Mal emerges....you FAFO boy
Whatever it takes.
Bad men who do bad things need to be reminded that a lot of times the cops are there to protect them from the good men who have had enough and are not going to care about "justice" or the rights of the accused
At 2:34 the old Castle just died within himself. When his eyes opened again, the new Castle had emerged. To me, it seemed as if he had to kill a part of himself so that he could do what he had to do in order to save his daughter.
all i learned here is: dont kidnap his daughter if you dont want a grown man penetrating your hole with his finger :D
I didn't see the episode. What did Castle do to him?
We don't get any kind of video of them at all during that short period when the perp is screaming. We just let our imagination run and assume that Castle is torturing him somehow. We don't see the perp afterwards.
@@rickhudson9900Interesting.
@@rickhudson9900 Castle wouldn't have needed to get very creative. Pushing a few knuckles into the guy's chest wound would probably be enough to make him talk.
@@flyboy152 That's very true, but not seeing it allows our imaginations run wild with the possibilities, and they are terrifying.
adding to the "don't show it; let the audience imagination fill the gaps in" is that it is just before the commercial break.
Likely one half plausible deniability and the other half "If I tell you, you'll think differently of me after."
It's similar to one of my favorite moments from Justice League Unlimited, where there was a time alteration plot point where "current day" Batman meets Old Bruce from Batman Beyond.
Nathan Fillion for Batman?
Tell castle what he wants to know
The best actor of ABC, sir Nathan Fillion !
“If you touch me, I’ll press charges.”
Heh. Heh heh. Hahahaha!! In what universe would the jury EVER side with the kidnapper? Oh I’m sure they’d find the distraught father guilty. Probably make castle pay a $1.00 fine and a whole hour of community service.
