My curiosity is burning to know what type of career you have. Your job seems to devour your life! I hope you can carve out time to read the things you love. 🤔😊
Appreciate Michael that you wear a shirt and tie. You're always well-dressed and I truly appreciate it, much respect to you showing respect to your subscribers. Love your videos!
Heads Up: Roger was making faces behind your back. I think he wants to give some book reviews of his own ?(Tibetan Book of the Dead perhaps ?). Anyhow , appreciation to you both for your channel !
I binge read all 10 amber books last fall because I was ill and couldn't do anything else. I like both cycles. I didn't expect the Merlin cycle to be the same as the Corwin one and that probably helped. I find it admirable how you're able to participate in all the challenges whilst being on the no buy challenge. Keep up the good work 💪
A good list. On my bookpile are also the amber books (im 2 volumes) and Tim Powers the Anubis Gates. Meybe I start to read The Book of Amber in February, after I finished the last book of Taran by Lloyd Alexander
Just started "The Return of Tarzan" and ended up buying the whole series in old, mismatched paperbacks after one of your videos convinced me it's something I'm going to really enjoy reading -- and sharing with my son!
Since I ended up doing two rereads this month, 'Cujo' and 'Dune Messiah'. I am going to try get to some first reads by getting back to Dresden Files and reading the first book in 'Shogun'. Since that won't be a complete book will get ahead of my high school students and finish 'The Hobbit' so can keep up with my two books a month for 2024.
I am absolutely going to get that The Infinite Moment! I just read the Chrysalids and enjoyed it so was planning to try more Wyndham. This sounds right up my alley…. love those tropes! Thanks!
That is an ambitious February. I miggt try out the Books of Amber. You do make them sound interesting. Im still trying to get through At The Mountains of Madness. Work has also been all consuming for me too and ive had almost no time to read. I really dont know how you manage to get up at 4am. You must teach me your ways oh wise one! If I can get through Lovecraft this weekend I'm going to try and participate in Holmes is where the Heart is with the second Holmes novel by Doyle and some of his early short stories. I might jump into another Elric after that. Or possibly another of the Mars series. I finished A Princess of Mars and really enjoying it.
I am currently reading "The Turn of the Screw", by Henry James. By the way, you should get some merch going, perhaps a tee-shirt with Roger's picture on it.
Just finished the infinite moment a week ago. Quite enjoyed it. Reading leviathan wakes by James a Corey. Then maybe a David feinuch thing. Oh and Trigan empire vol 1… graphic novel..romans in space… so much to do…so little time.
I am getting more and more curious what kind of work you do 🙈🙈 Pretty long tbr!. I don't really make a tbr for the month. I have it more in my head a bit like... what books i want to read next and that's it. Although i am planning to participate with one book in the Sherlock Holmes month. That will be my first Sherlock book! :D
Oh man, you've got a busy reading month in February! But I'm glad you'll be able to join in on Holmes is Where the Heart is in some way anyway, Michael! That Starrett book is chock-ful of awesome stuff, and I look forward to hearing what you think. Thanks for the mention! Greg at @anotherbibliophilereads and Randy @theliteratetexan are also co-hosting along with myself and Mark. I'm pretty excited about it!
Heh, I almost put a comment in last week about TRUMPS OF DOOM being pretty good. It's a solid setup book. The main thing about the second chronicles is that they sort of trail off.
So do you count volumes or books in your 500 book challenge? Would a multi book volume of an author count as one book or does each work count separately?
How much input do you get from Roger on these critical decisions? He strikes me as a steady, dispassionate advisor with an obvious wealth of experience. On video he is very quiet, but I imagine when the tape isn’t rolling he could be animated. Roger must read some other books, perhaps you could have him give us his recommendations! I imagine his voice is kind of croaky but I’m curious to hear it.
I believe 2024 is a leap year so you get one extra day this February!
You are right! This year has 29 February days!

"And a few others..." I'm one of them. This is going to be the best February of Sherlock Holmes ever!

I thought you killed the TBR monster a year-and-a-half ago? Great list of books! I hope you do have that awesome reading month for February!
Like all great monsters, it seems the Monthly TBR Monster somehow survived his own demise!
awesome TBR
Here's hoping for a great February! ..... so we can watch a bunch of awesome MKV book reviews!
"It's not about a bunch of crazy cultists who get together and like to pee on books"
Well, that made me snort my coffee

So, I have another month at least before I have to make a BookTube video. Phew! 😜
Hap and Leonard! They’re the best!

Michael have you read The Son by phillip meyer?
So y’all are the reason my friend only gets a birthday every 4 years! 😮good luck getting through your tbr during such a short month!
I am currently reading "The Turn of the Screw", by Henry James. By the way, you should get some merch going, perhaps a tee-shirt with Roger's picture on it.
Maybe "Roger Rags" for Halloween? OH, wait! I may go as Roger and dress my husband as Michael. He has all the accouterments.
Just finished the infinite moment a week ago. Quite enjoyed it. Reading leviathan wakes by James a Corey. Then maybe a David feinuch thing. Oh and Trigan empire vol 1… graphic novel..romans in space… so much to do…so little time.
Begun reading Stephen King in publication order :)
I don’t have that fancy golden shower edition of King in Yellow, but I look forward to hearing your thoughts on it. Of One Blood sounds intriguing.
Errr heheheheh...errr hehehehehe you said golden shower (channelling Beavis and Butthead)

I'm looking forward to it as well!
Great! @danieltenney1896 Should be a lot of fun!
29 days this year!
"The King In Yellow" is one of those extraordinary books that really has no equal; another such book is William Hope Hodgson's "The Night Land".
The Night Land is really something.
So many things going on, no wonder Roger runs amok when your back is turned .. it might be a cry for attention.
Heh, I almost put a comment in last week about TRUMPS OF DOOM being pretty good. It's a solid setup book. The main thing about the second chronicles is that they sort of trail off.
Stupid real life is always spoiling our reading fun!
February was yesterday. Sorry to be the one to tell you.
😺✌️
Michael did you ever read the Nic Meyer Holmes books?
If i never hear the words "Anubis Gates" again it will be too soon! 😂
So do you count volumes or books in your 500 book challenge? Would a multi book volume of an author count as one book or does each work count separately?
didn't you have some Astounding magazines to read
That is a really amazing profile avatar. 🤩
*coughs* GarbAugust
That’s right! The Wasted Weekend! Now I’m going to have to make another video!
Did you forget that you just said it’s a short month 😆
Anubis Gates loses again 😱🤭

Would you ever consider reading manga? I’d love to hear your perspective on manga vs comic books.
So do you think any of these will be any good ? 🤭
Damn, Michael, you go into work early. Can we do three guesses? I'll provide the first: I think you work in a donut shop.
He’s obviously a surgeon.
😺✌️
February has 21 days.
29 days ;)
Ok
Now look what you did...cheated yourself out of a day or two or three (whatever year) to get through y our February TBR lists.
