  • Hello everyone..
    This is my very first rod tip repair on my saltiga. If it wasn't so costly I would just gotten another one then again I dun fink they make this model anymore too.
    I will try to restore it anyway I can and if the tip dose not hold out under the punishment of our reef fish ill just use it without the tip.🤞🤞

    Mate I was up your way on Saturday so on our way to Port Douglas we dropped in to have a look a Palm Cove and have a look at the jetty and sure enough they where getting into the large herring was great to see they are quite large ones would have been a great day out the reef until the next on stay safe.

    Looks like an excellent repair job Buzzy. Certainly worth the effort to save an $800 rod and a favourite for many years.
    Hope you will get many more years of enjoyment out of it now .

    Looks good! I’d be a little worried about the steel insert causing another fracture. We’ve done a similar repair, but used a piece from the tip of an old fibreglass kids rod as the insert

      Hi and yes i agree i have a good feeling it wont hold too. The fish i we catch here are to savage its not like bream n whiting

    Hey buzzy what boat ramp do you go out on I am from cairns but never seen it

      Hi i go out on all the ramps from Daintree all the way down lucinda near Townsville. There is no primary ramp i go out from it all depends on were i want to fish wonkys, deepwater or near the shelf ect
