  • “The Turns of The Wheel” is an award-winning experimental film written, directed, shot and produced by C. K. Neubert between 1995 and 1997. Inspired by the Japanese art of 'renku' - a form of chain poetry - this film weaves together 18 vignettes, each as evocative as a haiku. The vignettes were directly created on storyboard, like a traditional movie, but are sequenced in a particular order that follows the rules and the rhythm of 'renku' poetry. creating a cinematic experience that is both unique and thought-provoking.
Through these vignettes, the film explores deep social conflicts: generational divides, workplace harassment, emasculation in a deteriorating society, and gender inequality. Themes like religion, human recklessness, and the complexity of love are subtly woven into the often ironical narrative, inviting viewers to discover new layers with every viewing. This is more than just a film; it's a mirror reflecting the complexities and flaws of humanity.
