I just wrapped up this semester with my Master's. The hrs that were put in were hell. My thesis semester was hard on me physically, but was hard on me mentally! 💀 Whoever is reading this and is in Architecture school, I just want to give a little advise to you, ....whether you're beginning you career or wrapping up, just push through and don't stop. There will be many times that you feel like you should just stop and give up or you think your project isn't good or won't be good enough,... don't let that mindset take over. You never know what the professors and/or jurors will say. Just keep going on your work and don't focus on anyone else's project. The moment you stop working, start procrastinating or feel unmotivated is time that puts you behind more than you will think. (You find that out in the end). If you keep working on your project little by little, you're only gonna progress. If you don't do anything, you're never gonna get anywhere. Something is better than nothing. This program will challenge your mind, so please take care of it. Take breaks (but don't stop), talk to you studio mates for opinions (but don't waste time socializing), and this may sound simple or scary but talk to your Professor! They're their to help you (hopefully). They've been through it all, and they will tell you what to do and what not to prioritize,...that way you save time for your self to focus on bigger parts of your project and figure why you are stuck. Don't be scared to talk to your Professor, even if they intimidate you. You will progress much further than anyone and your project will be much more polished if you set a regular schedule updating your Professor. Plus, that will create a professional relationship that will help you to get jobs and other resources in your Architecture Career!
I love this profession! If you're in this field, you should love it too. If you don't think this is for you, please don't go through the stress for no reason! Good luck❤️

The struggle is real. I went abroad to study for cheaper tuition, but the all nighters start to pile up pretty quickly throughout the semester. Studio here is a bit different though. We don't live on campus so allnighters are at home.

For cutting all the pieces what my teacher taught me was to hand draft (parallel, set square that stuff) and cut all pieces. If there are prototypes that one wants to make just cut a few more pieces of the same thing....if there are extras, give it to classmates
That or get some multiple copies of the site plan, stick it (or don't) on the cardboard and start cutting the cardboard, becomes easy to cut, yes printing would become expensive so that's a drawback.....this I learned from my seniors....anyways it was a fantastic video
PS- From where i come, we are taught hand drafting and hand model making first AutoCAD and all bim softwares are taught in 3rd or 4 th year ....the whole idea is trying to be more creative on paper and model rather than on computer, it helps in understanding how to design in computer easily...

    Good luck!
I was in the program in 2007 but I dropped out and changed went into medicine. The one semester I was in the masters program was definitely tough but in the end it wasn't for me.
