not to mention the fact that itachi can easily control what happens in the tsukuyomi world, including how much time passes in there, to literally put anyone under that genjutsu and tell them straight up all the information in a split second.
He did the tsukyomi to Kakashi, who he had no reason not to trust. That would have been a great time to divulge all of the secrets he had instead of torturing Kakashi.
I have a strong belief that Itachi was retconned when Kishimeto was writing Shipudden. I don’t think Kishimeto intended for Itachi to be a spy when he first wrote his character

"I don’t think Kishimeto intended for Itachi to be a spy when he first wrote his character" I doubt , he is shown to be an Anbu - the anbu special militia used for purposes like this only , although he is a pathetic spy who got to the anbu position simply because he provided valuable info. on the uchiha ( for which i dont think he had much work to do since he was the chiefs son and future heir and probably got first row seats in meetings ) and he is so comically bad at it that he almost blows his own cover by hitting the uchiha cops who came to enquire him .lulz . since the anbu are handpicked by the hokage his pathetic skills dont bar him from joining the anbu . and gosh i hate his retconning bs soooo much its so infuriating first wankers' worhsip the ground itachi walks on and then when itachi comes out as incosistent from their POV they start blaming the author who created the charehcter himself !!

It actually surprises me that like every single shinobi in every village and their children didn't know about Samehada and it's abilities. Those are the same swords that all notorious 7 best swordsmen of the Mist have wielded. Why only Kakashi knew? And yeah, I would have to imagine that at the very minimum Itachi would've reported who are the members of Akatsuki, since nearly all of them were listed in bingo book and were legendary level.
@@atklm1most of the 7 ninja swordsmen were killed by Might Dai and all of their abilities were recorded, and sometime after the Mist recovered all the fallen swordsmen's blades. Maybe the Samehada user survived and escaped thus his abilities weren't recorded. But This Is All Headcanon.
It would be interesting if it was revealed that the Akatsuki rings were given to the individual members to act as a sealing jutsu to restrict the wearer from letting non-Akatsuki members know information about the Akatsuki, their inner workings and their plans. That would be a legitimate and clever way to give Itachi an out about not giving Konoha any information about the literal only reason why he joined the Akatsuki. If the rings were made out of Pains Chakra Rods and was a sealing jutsu, it would be linked to the ring bearers Chakra network and connected to Pain. So Nagato would be able to tell if it was a clone wearing the ring, their whereabouts at all times and if it is the legitimate Akatsuki member wearing the ring. But nope, the Akatsuki rings were just forgotten and didn't result in anything. Just a cool little accessory like a class ring. Smh.
All true bro, except for one main fact. The only thing Itachi helps out with is preventing the Ataksuki from destroying Konoha. When he dies first thing Óbito does is send Nagato to destroy Konoha. “Our little eye sore is gone” - Tobi to Zetsu
Oh... Whatever day that is should be an international day of mourning. We lost 2 of the most wholesome ninja from the leaf that day ;-; (feel free to debate me on Itachi being wholesome)
Nick.... This is my favorite video yet ... It really made me think about Itachi's actual role. These are all crazy fails in communication....WOW. still one of the best characters in the show
There is a good possibility that Obito might have had Sasuke's head over Itachi - To the point where he implanted amateratsu on Sasuke's eye, as a precaution If konoha got information about akatsuki member's it would be extremely easy to deduce that Itachi, a Konoha's ex-member, would be the one to leak the information - And Sasuke's head is always on the pyke, since it was common knowledge that he kept his brother alive (Kisame knowledge) and broadly known about the Uchiha Massacre This still makes him not a good spy, since he isn't able to relay any information and his ability to sabotage Akatsuki is also very limited.
I would say the main reason no one else could be given the information because Itachi wanted the truth about him to stay secret especially from Sasuke. He didn’t even trust Obito to not tell Sasuke and tried to kill him. He wouldn’t want Jiraiya who is close to Naruto who is close to Sasuke to know the truth about the Uchiha.
Lol, so maybe he only ever gave any details to the third so when the third died all of his spy work died with him and because the third didn't tell anyone for some dumb reason Konoha was left totally unprepared as if they never even had a spy in the Akatsuki 😂
The thing is he could have just gave them information from while being anonymous. He doesnt have to say its him. He is a master of genjutsu he could figure out a way to to tell them without giving up its him. Doesnt even have to be anything about the Uchiha just give info on other members powers at least.
He should and could have told Kakashi at least some. Kakashi kept Naruto’s secret, Itachi knew him well, and all he had to do was tell him while under a genjutsu
Omg I been saying this, something else that make absolutely no sense. He hit Kakashi with Tsukiyomi, a realm where he has complete control of, why didn’t at any point he didn’t just tell Kakashi what was going on? Kakashi knows how to keep a secret and he should trust him as well seeing that they were in the ROOT together… bruh
Because it was a personal secret. He wanted to die with the secret without only him and Obito knowing. His only reason for living was for Sasuke to kill him thinking he’s a villain so why tell Kakashi who is one of the closest people to Sasuke. He wanted to die a villain more than anything he even put Amaterasu in Sasukes eye because he knew Obito knew his secret and might tell Sasuke.
@Beanz356 You saying that makes Itachi sound like a selfish, manipulative sociopath. He severely underestimated Sasuke's intelligence and ability to find out what really happened. So he didn't even achieve his goal. Naruto fixed everything for him.
@@She_namedme_DJ yes, Itachi admits that he treated Sasuke as a kid all the way up to his death during the war arc when he goes after Kabuto and Sasuke pursues him

I've always liked to believe that Itachi was controlling the woman under genjutsu to pass Jiraiya information. But, you would think a spy would be able to pass on information more than just that one time.
But wait a minute, the akatsuki didn’t even really begin kidnapping jinchuriki until 3 years later when shippudden started so it’s actually smart and prudent of itachi to reveal that to Jiraiya before any of the jinchuriki had even been captured.
This is perfectly in character for Itachi though as he told Naruto, he tried to do everything himself so he probably didn't take the responsibility of informing Konoha of what he knows seriously.

Pretty sure Itachi keeping obito from attacking konoha and getting the 9 tails went alot further than you're giving it credit for. Kisame joined the Akatsuki because he valued loyalty to a degree that his village was too deeply corrupted to appreciate, and you mention here he was more loyal to Itachi than the Akatsuki as a whole... I bet if Itachi had been an effective spy and Kisame discovered him and confronted him about it, he'd have massive respect for Itachi's backstory and probably even help keep his secret.
Hirozen while dying: *reaches up and grabs Tsunade* "We have a little boy. He's very sick, and he can't write letters." Tsunade leaning over him: *let's him back down* (under her breath) "Its so sad. He's delirious as he's dying."
His ‘awful spy-work’ is explained in such a manner : he relayed info only to Hiruzen , whom might’ve informed Danzo. The latter would’ve been thrilled by Akatsuki’s plan since it would mean other nations’ Jinchuriki being neutralized whilst their being left out for last and even then Konoha could just give Naruto away without risking a conflict ; and the former kept all that he knows for himself regardless of the information’s fashion.
I talked about this before. I think he had no real way to do more than he did. After joining the Akatsuki, he probably didnt expect how isolated from his only allies he would be. Obito knew everything about him and his intentions and danzo was still probably so adamant about using anything he could against Itachi. It's not like he could free roam very much and it didnt help that he had to be in a two man team at all times, so he had very few ways to do anything without being outed. I dont think he knew how difficult it would be. On top of this, itachi may have just recently recieved this info about the plan for the Akatsuki in full and before this, they were still just doing jobs for money and status. He may have told hiruzen everything he could about the Akatsuki, but mostly it was just the mercenary work, so it may not have been that bad at first and hiruzen may nit have thought much of it until maybe a few months before he died. I dont know. Just spit balling.
I''d like to imagine at the very start of Itachi & Kisame being on the same team etc, they had no trust. But, after really diving into Kisame's character, I always thought he really didn't belong with them. I mean, sure, at the very beginning, yes. Just rogue ninja's doing mercenary work, and posing as a threat to the villages etc etc., but when the plans were fully revealed about capturing the Bijuu and stuff like that, I could imagine he was just there because well... there was really no place for him. So with this thinking, in my own headcanon (because we see how loyal he is with Itachi and how close they really were), he was probably the only person that Itachi could truly relay anything to. Honestly wish this was true though, lol. Imagine. Like, Kisame could just send sharks to relay intel etc.
@@ryanbarber6481 well kisame was Itachi's partner to observe him and kill him in case he betried them. Kisame was loyal to Obito and it was Obito who recruited kisame. Ofc I believe he considers himself Itachi's friend. Nevertheless still his mission was to observe Itachi.
@@adamkowalski6061I think so. Your Mission is more Important than Your Comrades. So, He wouldn't be hesitating to kill Itachi. Also, the fact that Obito never trusted Itachi and had his eye over him, does explain his inability to leak Infos.
@@FactClipZ its revealed in the Manga that Kisame does indeed value mission priority over comrades, in a flashback, Kisame when he was still a Mist Ninja did in fact kill his entire team off before Leaf shinobi caught up to them in a battle the Leaf and Mist were in, and also, Kisame technically wasn't a Rogue Shinobi, since he viewed Obito as the Mizukage of the Mist
This would be true if Itachi didn't have his Tsukuyomi, he can use that to relay any info he wants to his target and since he can fully control everything there no one could suspect him of anything.
According to my theory, Itachi was providing information to Hiruzen, who kept it to himself because he couldn't tell anybody else as Itachi is considered a criminal by the Hidden Leaf. Following his passing, Itachi considered it dangerous to relay information to someone he didn't trust. Itachi is also surprised with how kakashi got to know about the akutski and its objectives thus he wanted to take kakashi with him, I think he was avoid a situation like these where he will be regarded as a spy.
your theory is so absurd that i dont even know where to begain 😷 1. "Itachi was providing information to Hiruzen, who kept it to himself because he couldn't tell anybody else as Itachi is considered a criminal by the Hidden Leaf." why , why couldnt hiruzen tell inofrmation to anybody else ? what does this habe to do with itachi being a spy , i mean hiruzen is not getting any plagiarism warrants for not naming the shinobi who passed the info. to him , he a hokage he is absolutely not obliged to tell anyone who passed certain info. to him . i mean i understand hiruzen is an extremely incompetent hokage but the thing with hiruzen is that he formed the council and he consults things with the council and that has nothing to do with his reluctance for taking action , i mean he shares matters of grave bulnerability like the uchiha situation w danzo even though danzo attempted to kill him, if hiruzen knew something about the aktauski definately the council would and the info. wouldve been passed to the next hokage i.e Tsunade and guess what ! - Jiraiya would be alive 2. " Itachi considered it dangerous to relay information to someone he didn't trust." wtf but why though what is so dangerous about conveying information about aktauski i mean the worst a person can do about the "dangerous info." on aktauski mebers is to kill them (all the akautski meebers are S ranked criminals who have distrubed the shinobi system ) so what is so dangrous about informing anyone anything about the aktasuki , i dont think itachi knew anything about the akautsaki himsekf he is a pretty shit spy nothing compared to kabuto i mean we got. a glimpse of how shit a spy he was when he almost blows his cover of being a double agent BY HIMSELF when the uchiha cops come to interrogate him , the only spyign business he had done succesful prior is the uchiha one (in which he probably would have gotten first hand seats to council meetings since his father was a chief and as the heri to clan not to mention the uchiha had a goodwill for itachi and trusted him the uchiha granny calling him "the pride of the clan". 4. "Itachi is also surprised with how kakashi got to know about the akutski and its objectives thus he wanted to take kakashi with him, I think he was avoid a situation like these where he will be regarded as a spy." yeah and asked kisame to "finish off" the rest 2 jonin😬who thanks to gai survived , but anyways i dont get the big deal w him wanting to take kakashi w him and what does that have to do w him not wanted to be regarded as a spy i mean say he takes kakahshi as a hostage of sorts what does that have to do w his level as a spy or reluctance of people finding out he is one . i mean kakshi unlikely knows that itachi is behind this its evident in the manner he talks and heck he is even playing his speculation game-he asks itachi if he has come for sasuke ? but then its he is the who says hes after the legacy of the 4th hokage
I mean... if people receiving information from spies couldn't tell anybody because their spies are "bad people", well... there's no reason to have spies in the first place. The point of a spy is to lie and hide their true identity to transfer information, they HAVE to keep their identity a secret - so of course Hiruzen wouldn't tell anyone the identity of his spy.
I wouldn't say Itachi was reporting to Danzo, I'd say Danzo was intercepting the reports from Itachi. I think you even mentioned that in another video, giving precedence, for Danzo hiding information meant for Hiruzen.
He stopped the reanimation tho. Could’ve just sat and watch Nagato rape Naruto and killer bee. He gave Naruto the ultimate defense against sasuke and possibly Tobi too. Could’ve killed kakashi. Kakashi literally asks himself in the anime and manga as he lays on the ground after surviving tsukoyomi why doesn’t itachi just kill him now
@@dman5849He almost did kill Kakashi. Kakashi only survived because Tsunade was there. And for that last part is because he was evil and enjoyed doing evil things before he was retconed.
@@dman5849 I get that by the end of the series, he’s written to be “heroic,” I’m talking about how many things he did earlier on that make no sense with how we’re expected to believe he always was. Things like abducting the Three-Tails and torturing his kid brother.
@@MothsAudioandVideos I’m saying it makes no sense that he didn’t kill kakashi. It made no sense to kakashi himself. If he were truly evil he would’ve killed him asuma and kurenai. Asuma and kureani were literally standing there with their eyes closed. He was acting evil but wasn’t cold blooded at all
I always subscribed to Itachi not being a good guy spy and just using that as an excuse to get out of the village without being chased down by Hiruzen and the Anbu, and actually only caring about Sasuke and literally nobody else from the leaf. He didn't share any information because he hated what the leaf became. He executed his missions for the Akatsuki because he wanted to be cast under infinite tsukiomi, he just wanted to protect his brother and see his brother become stronger than him more than that, so he did stuff for his brother and didn't care what risk that'd leave the rest of Konoha at. He wanted his brother to be safe and strong, and he wanted to otherwise fulfill his missions as an Akatsuki member
Pretty sure Itachi mentioned how he tried to basically shoulder everything himself and how that was a mistake. Also, can't really pretend the Leaf is all that competent in dealing with major issues going off Naruto's childhood.
A thought occurred to me. Itachi could have relayed information to Kakashi when he used the Tsukiyomi. Untraceable, and with a high time ratio to the outside world.
@@xxxtimeghostxxx how would it? If the information is given under Tsukiyomi, it’s Undetectable, and he could still torture Kakashi to make it seem believable to Kisame. Itachi had the perfect opportunity to hand over information without compromising his cover and he didn't take it.
You make a lot of good points. Kishimoto just slapped the word "spy" on Itachi and we all just accepted the obvious retcon without realizing that it made little to no sense. When it comes to Naruto's plot it's best not to think about it too hard I realized xD For example: the whole Uchiha massacre. Itachi is still somehow shown as the tragic good guy at the end of it. The second Hokage, who's philosophy was the root cause of it, and Danzo's philosophical predecessor, still shown as a good guy.
You give the guy who wrote the Naruto franchise way too much credit for clearly planning all of that out. Some of the village plans looked sewn together at the last second while others seemed to be based on how different events occurred which is why the story has so many weird storylines. If Itachi was only supposed to answer to Hiruzen then there would be no reason to report to the others after that hokage died.
Itachi was supposed to report to Hiruzen not only because he was the Hokage but because he trusted him. I assume he doesn't want to report to others without knowing their true colors. He also might have given information to Hiruzen but Hiruzen didn't tell anybody because he died before the Akatsuki was a problem to konoha. Giving information about the Akatsuki to Jonins would make the Akatsuki realize they have a spy and that would obviously be Itachi. Also, why would he sabotage the Akatsuki? If he didn't do his part he would get jumped by Nagato and Obito
If Itachi had enough leverage to say that Jiraya is too much for his team, why it wouldn't work for spying? Just say hey its Jiraya, the legendary sanin, he has his ways of spying.
@@will_1470 I'm not Hiruzen so I don't know if he did or not. Either way Jiraya lost to Nagato and I don't think Itachi knew how the six paths worked, at least we never saw him with anyone other than the Deva path, both in canon and filler and other than Nagato and Itachi he fought Konan and Kisame and he obviously knew konan's attacks. Regarding Kisame he seemed pretty confident of his own ability and nothing caught him of guard. I don't know if that happened because he had that information already or because he was just stronger than Kisame so he didn't even need to worry about him

Theory time, Itachi acts strangely because he was under Kotoamatsukami to "protect Konowa" the same way he programed the eye to do to Sasuke. This would explain his crazy level of self sacrifice for most of his life that doesnt seem to make rational sense. Also explained why he didnt just use Kotoamatsukami to deal with the Coup. Performing sabotage vs every other village would fit "protect Konowa" programming. Also more crazy idea the women who he uses to "seduce" Jiraiya had all the information to tell Jiraiya just Jiraiya knocked her out because she was under genjutsu and didnt listen to the info hence the Oh shit he might actually kill us running away.
3:15 I just remembered something... he can give info through genjutsu 😂 He could have given information to idk *Kakashi* and ex-Ambu member who probably had a lot of experience with that kind of work, and keeping secrets, acting, etc.
my theory is Itachi just choose the most unreliable crow to deliver the message, and the crow just buried it somewhere and pretended to deliver it so they could just take a nap. Casting illusions for him constantly in battle is rough 😂
To be fair, the partner system is a decent anti spy policy. And we see in the show that pairs going off and doing their own thing is fairly rare. Kisame would most likely find out if Itachi was writing letters and sending em off. The method of relaying orders through the Akatski is done via Jutsu. And itachi is supposed to be a super edgy cold clan killer with no family left besides Sauske. So who would he be writing letters to? Kisame would likely report this or confront Itachi directly. Both Scenario's would likely end with Itachi being considered a traitor. Even if he did hide it or Kisame didn't care. Obito would pretty quickly put together that the leaf is the only village that somehow has Akatski intel. Wonder who's Responsible for that?

I always thought the itachi stuff in part 2 was fan service. I figured because of his popularity part way through part 2 he changed itachis roll and literally forgot what he wrote previously. It’s like a lot of other things he did in the manga. He just changed his mind on what he wanted and just went in a completely different direction and didn’t care if it contradicted anything before it
“He wasn’t criminally insane he was actually just method acting” is such a fucking stupid idea. If itachi decided to kill Danzo not only would there be less trouble for Naruto later but it would also increase his reputation with the Akatsuki
I think it makes sense when you consider white zestsu I don’t think itachi knew about him when he said he was gonna be a spy, and he does present quote the obstacle for giving information to others, he could pop up at any time
My theory is that Itachi was the spy in akatsuki Juriya refers to, and either Jiriya never knew his spy's identity has this connection was made to him by Hiruzen. And the reason for the lack of info was partially Jiriya's fault. When Jiriya was discovered roaming the village by some Jounin, it was mentioned to him that "lord third has been trying to locate you" or get ahold of him, something to that effect, and Jiriya was avoiding meeting the third for reasons... Jiriya was hyper focused on Orochimaru and only returned to the village because he was there. From that perspective many theories could come up, like hiruzen may have been aware he was approaching the end of his life and wanted to make him the next hokage candidate. And with that reveal to Jiriya his network of spys as the hokage. And maybe information hes received as hokage that he has yet to release as it was on a need to know basis. Or another possibility is Jiriya did onow itachi was a spy, and that was the reason he tried to capture them, or at least made it seem like he was attempting to, as he still needed itachi to maintain his post. I dony know, maybe when i have time i will type out this elaborate theory on the reasons for the apparent lack of information, and the seemingly abundant info released about itachi to other villages that seem farfetched for a kid who let the village in his early to mid teens
I have a weird theory, probably not possible. We know that Hiruzen was VERY sad about the massacre happening in the first place almost right under his nose, and we know he felt guilty that Danzo made Itachi do it. What if Hiruzen, in all his emotionally charged thinking, told Itachi not to report to the village so Itachi wouldn't have to be reminded of that night... Which is countered easily by simply sending letters instead of reporting in person, but it seems like spies in the Naruto verse tend to approach reporting as making a physical appearance.
I mean it's a plot hole regardless. Itachi basically didn't do anything until the war, besides cause problems. He literally would have been better off just abandoning the lead with Sasuke than what he chose.
@@jacobhayes8324 a guy already wrote this. People forget Itachi was always in a 2 Man team so never alone to leak info. If they received knews probably Zetsu and Obito would go for Sasuke... and on the other hand his presence at the ataktsuki alone prevented Konoha from being attacked
Remember. Itachi and Kisame fled from Jiraiya, not because they were scared. It was because Jiraiya wasn't ready for the smoke Itachi and Kisame was packing.

IMO the main reason is if the leaf village specifically knew too much about members & abilities, the newest member that happens to share a village with the only other shinobi that betrayed you would’ve been extremely suspicious. Even if it lead to the death of whatever duo the leaf came across it’s not far fetched that obito or BZ would’ve been watching battles and able to sus it out
Itachi was able to retreat without battle against Jiraya duo to his legendary status, just play on that, hey its a legendary sanin spying, no wonder he knows stuff...
Wait Jiraiya wasn't surprised when Konan had the dance of the shikigami, he saw it back when she was a child and he was raising them in the rain village. They had a whole sparring match and she threw paper shurikens at him
Well... Itachi was retconned. In Naruto, Itachi was a bad guy. In Shippuden, he was retconned to be a more nuanced and sympathetic character. Kishimoto didn't originally intend on making Itachi a spy for Konoha.
Absolute facts, I can’t understand how so many can say that Itachi did his best when he so very much did. Hell, Kakazu was a better asset against the Akatsuki since at least he killed a partner! Itachi even has the perfect backstabbing kit. Genjutsu and Amaturasu, he could so easily have killed any partner or teammate even without Zetsu knowing! he does say he is a failure - and thats because he is
but the "failure" is about him not being able to turn sasuke into a konoha bootlicker , he says "you ended up a terrorist"

2. "I don’t think Kishimeto intended for Itachi to be a spy when he first wrote his character"
I doubt , he is shown to be an Anbu - the anbu special militia used for purposes like this only , although he is a pathetic spy who got to the anbu position simply because he provided valuable info. on the uchiha ( for which i dont think he had much work to do since he was the chiefs son and future heir and probably got first row seats in meetings ) and he is so comically bad at it that he almost blows his own cover by hitting the uchiha cops who came to enquire him .lulz . since the anbu are handpicked by the hokage his pathetic skills dont bar him from joining the anbu .

Nick.... This is my favorite video yet ... It really made me think about Itachi's actual role. These are all crazy fails in communication....WOW. still one of the best characters in the show
There is a good possibility that Obito might have had Sasuke's head over Itachi - To the point where he implanted amateratsu on Sasuke's eye, as a precaution
If konoha got information about akatsuki member's it would be extremely easy to deduce that Itachi, a Konoha's ex-member, would be the one to leak the information - And Sasuke's head is always on the pyke, since it was common knowledge that he kept his brother alive (Kisame knowledge) and broadly known about the Uchiha Massacre
This still makes him not a good spy, since he isn't able to relay any information and his ability to sabotage Akatsuki is also very limited.

Because it was a personal secret. He wanted to die with the secret without only him and Obito knowing. He wanted to die a villain more than anything he even put Amaterasu in Sasukes eye because he knew Obito knew his secret and might tell Sasuke.

Itachi did not know that Jiraiya was gonna go to the Rain Village.
Really that changes little over what he should have still been saying. Someone was almost certainly going to the Rain at some point
Jiraya would not have needed to go to the rain or he would have gone with plenty of info if Itachi did his job.
Thank you, Nick! Thank you! I've been debating this point to my boys for the longest while.

This would be true if Itachi didn't have his Tsukuyomi, he can use that to relay any info he wants to his target and since he can fully control everything there no one could suspect him of anything.

why , why couldnt hiruzen tell inofrmation to anybody else ? what does this habe to do with itachi being a spy , i mean hiruzen is not getting any plagiarism warrants for not naming the shinobi who passed the info. to him , he a hokage he is absolutely not obliged to tell anyone who passed certain info. to him .
i mean i understand hiruzen is an extremely incompetent hokage but the thing with hiruzen is that he formed the council and he consults things with the council and that has nothing to do with his reluctance for taking action , i mean he shares matters of grave bulnerability like the uchiha situation w danzo even though danzo attempted to kill him, if hiruzen knew something about the aktauski definately the council would and the info. wouldve been passed to the next hokage i.e Tsunade and guess what ! - Jiraiya would be alive
2. " Itachi considered it dangerous to relay information to someone he didn't trust."
wtf but why though what is so dangerous about conveying information about aktauski i mean the worst a person can do about the "dangerous info." on aktauski mebers is to kill them (all the akautski meebers are S ranked criminals who have distrubed the shinobi system ) so what is so dangrous about informing anyone anything about the aktasuki , i dont think itachi knew anything about the akautsaki himsekf he is a pretty shit spy nothing compared to kabuto i mean we got. a glimpse of how shit a spy he was when he almost blows his cover of being a double agent BY HIMSELF when the uchiha cops come to interrogate him , the only spyign business he had done succesful prior is the uchiha one (in which he probably would have gotten first hand seats to council meetings since his father was a chief and as the heri to clan not to mention the uchiha had a goodwill for itachi and trusted him the uchiha granny calling him "the pride of the clan".
4. "Itachi is also surprised with how kakashi got to know about the akutski and its objectives thus he wanted to take kakashi with him, I think he was avoid a situation like these where he will be regarded as a spy."
yeah and asked kisame to "finish off" the rest 2 jonin😬who thanks to gai survived , but anyways i dont get the big deal w him wanting to take kakashi w him and what does that have to do w him not wanted to be regarded as a spy i mean say he takes kakahshi as a hostage of sorts what does that have to do w his level as a spy or reluctance of people finding out he is one . i mean kakshi unlikely knows that itachi is behind this its evident in the manner he talks and heck he is even playing his speculation game-he asks itachi if he has come for sasuke ? but then its he is the who says hes after the legacy of the 4th hokage
I mean... if people receiving information from spies couldn't tell anybody because their spies are "bad people", well... there's no reason to have spies in the first place.

When it comes to Naruto's plot it's best not to think about it too hard I realized xD
For example: the whole Uchiha massacre.
I love your vids Nick! Please keep up the good work
Itachi was supposed to report to Hiruzen not only because he was the Hokage but because he trusted him. I assume he doesn't want to report to others without knowing their true colors. my theory is Itachi just choose the most unreliable crow to deliver the message, and the crow just buried it somewhere and pretended to deliver it so they could just take a nap. Casting illusions for him constantly in battle is rough 😂
you mean the crow casts illusions for him constantly?
That genjutsu didn't have a ten year cooldown it was just the crow slacking.
Today is my birthday, and Itachi is my favorite Naruto character. Thanks for the accidental gift Nick!
Problem is obito wasn’t capable of just outright killing Itachi . Obito was well aware Itachi was a spy
Obito with help will end itachi though. Itachi was either sick or on mission, the whole time. He is evil via complacency.
Hey Nick, Congrats on reaching 500K subscribers! Your consistency and quality paid off, it was just a matter of time, you're an inspiration. Great job...best wishes on the road to 1M subs🙌
What if itachi was sending intel but it was being intercepted by Danzo and his goons out of fear that the hokage and others will look into why itachi is helping
They say lying to yourself is the greatest deception to who you are.
This just confirms to me what I had suspected all along, that Itachi was suppposed to be full-on evil from the start, but Kishimoto changed his mind mid-Shippuden.
where tf was he retconned a retcon would be perhaps stating that itachi didn't commit the crimes or is extremely broken from the sins he has commited or something like that . but itachi remains a comically bad person to the end the guy killed Uchiha oldies and babies alike has "no regrets" and says that the fate was deserved until the uchiha didnt "change" - and how 8 y/o sasuke couldve changed them?
he does say he is a failure - and thats because he is
but the "failure" is about him not being able to turn sasuke into a konoha bootlicker , he says "you ended up a terrorist"
i mean for a second lets assume that itachi actually didnt regret killing uchiha babies but alteast had a soft spot for sasuke how tf could he not regret torturing his baby brother to the point where he goes into coma (at ages 8 and 13 ) and inflicting so puch pain on him , or think of brainwashing him.
gosh i hate his retconning BS soooo much its so infuriating to see wankers' worhsip the ground itachi walks on and then when itachi comes out as incosistent from their POV they start blaming the author who created the charehcter himself !!
@@rishisaaptacha well i think i said that all of the parts of his story make sense , and didnt comment on liking or disliking the charechter . this person says itachi was "full on evil" but then retconned i say he was "never retconned " he still the same bs he did but just w the villages approval this time. (goes to show how shitty the village is along with some shadow on the villages' shitness by naagato just prior to this )
What's really crazy is that he could've used Tsukiyomi to pass information.
He controls the time in his genjutsu, he couldve told Kakashi everything when he was stabbing him.
Both Jiraiya and Itachi got a lot more screentime than Tenten.
Keep up the great work and videos Nick
Nah it's Kishi's fault for being hyperbiased in favor of Uchihas. I bet he just made those up as he writes the story causing a lot of loopholes.
"We have a little boy who's a spy in the Akatsuki and he's dying, but he doesn't know how to write letters" 💀
I think Nick may be the one stuck in a Genjutsu
NO HE WAS NOT
YES HE WAS
I think this is more of a kishimoto being kinda bad at continuity and less about the fact that itachi was a bad spy lol.
Remember. Itachi and Kisame fled from Jiraiya, not because they were scared. It was because Jiraiya wasn't ready for the smoke Itachi and Kisame was packing.
Yo congrats on 500k subs!
nice red socks drop, i literally laughed quite a few times from this video lol thank you
i think danzo intercepted all the letters from itachi to hiruzen
Hey Nick! Recently found your channel and have been going through your videos as I think you give a awesome perspective on a knowledge basis and try your best to give evidence to your claims/what if and generally walk us through your thought process. Two video ideas I wanted to throw out there was a video talking about character intellect and another where what if Naruto was smarter? Thank you keep up the awesome content!!
as a major fan of yours and a huge anime fan myself, i just wanted to suggest reading or listening to the harry potter books. you know better than most you dont want to judge a series by the movies when they were originally books. i know you werent bashing harry potter persay but i do think if you gave the books a chance you might like it, but then again that may not be your thing, if you dont like lord of the rings and stuff like that then you probably wouldnt like it and thats totally cool we all like different stuff. but i do enjoy your content about anime and would definitely enjoy hearing your take on some of the MANY harry potter theories. but ik you do anime and i respect that i just love your take on things cause your almost always right. love ya bro either way thanks for the awesome content!!!! oh i had to add this, you explain things in ways thats we all understand and you tie the nuances together that others usually look over, and you thoroughly research your content and i think thats what i love the most. if do a video on it your well versed in said subject. you dont just copy others material.
Can the Byakugan users read the Uchiha stone tablet? its something i wonder
Ngl Nick getting so fucking mad during this video was mad entertaining😂😂😂but the video itself was really good frfr
Nick I really appreciate the way you breakdown your work situation to us 😂😂😂
IMO the main reason is if the leaf village specifically knew too much about members & abilities, the newest member that happens to share a village with the only other shinobi that betrayed you would’ve been extremely suspicious.
Even if it lead to the death of whatever duo the leaf came across it’s not far fetched that obito or BZ would’ve been watching battles and able to sus it out
Itachi was able to retreat without battle against Jiraya duo to his legendary status, just play on that, hey its a legendary sanin spying, no wonder he knows stuff...
the akastsuki could be making sure itachi cant send a letter somehow
Couldn’t it be that danzo was intercepting all the letters which is how he had the information but he had no interest in sharing the information
Love the video
Wait Jiraiya wasn't surprised when Konan had the dance of the shikigami, he saw it back when she was a child and he was raising them in the rain village. They had a whole sparring match and she threw paper shurikens at him
Well... Itachi was retconned. In Naruto, Itachi was a bad guy. In Shippuden, he was retconned to be a more nuanced and sympathetic character. Kishimoto didn't originally intend on making Itachi a spy for Konoha.
Itachi being good was a retcon. Kishimoto did not plan everything from the beginning, and he changed or added things later.
I like the “Hiruzen Is batshit crazy theory”. He did let a baby raise himself with no care or teaching 😂
Like when he recruited Deidara: He could and should have used genjutsu to make sure he was the only one making it out
Good job. This is a really solid plot hole.
What if itachi was sending letters to the Leaf but Danzos solders intercepted them and Hiruzen & Jiraya never received the letters due to Danzo basically stealing them…. Didnt danxo have knowledge on the akatsuki? Like obitos abilities? Probably from itachis letters
500k coming soon bro❤
Love the videos keep it up! You make me weeks better. Thank you so much for the amazing videos you make for us ❤ nun but love going out
The actual reason: Plot. The reason he doesn’t write letters is the same reason vegito never gets any wins plot stops them. Like you said if Itachi tells them the abilities a bunch of people live and that doesn’t make a good story.
What if Itach WAS sending letters to hirozen but Danzo was INTERCEPTING them which would explain why no info got to hirozen and why he came back to remind danzo
Thanks!
Please do "Itachi vs Pain/Nagato"
It turns out that Itachi sent detailed letters regularly, he just had terrible handwriting and Hiruzen felt awkward about mentioning it after the whole Uchiha Massacre thing.
He only wrote about Akatsukis fashion sense.
love this editor
“Squid ink spaghetti man” is just crazy😂😂
