I wouldn't want it any other way...and i met a guy who was fine with the browns possibly getting better and steelers possibly getting worse, that got me heated
You can say that now, but no one thought we were beating Indy after the way they beat us earlier in the season. It was after that game that I knew we were golden.
I remember this game like it was yesterday. As the only Steeler fan in a family of die hard Browns fans in NE Ohio, I was in 9th grade. Everyone was depressed for the rest of our Christmas eve, and extended family didnt want to talk to me hahahaha. I didnt gloat, but had the biggest smirt on my face for the rest of the holiday celebration
No kidding. I'm still mad that they didn't start him in that game against (either it was Tennessee or Jacksonville) early in the season after Ben had his appendictemy. Steelers lost to Jags 9-0, and Tennessee 13-10 (I think)... Batch would have 0wned in either game and Ben would have had more time to heal
Yeah...they were 7-5 and they were faced with the fact that they had to win 8 games in a row, including the Superbowl, of course they just took it one game at a time!
@@jamescardiff6481 Well, since the Browns returned to the NFL in 1999, they are 7-35-1 vs Pittsburgh. Cleveland is 2-20 in Pittsburgh, and have lost 16 straight in Pittsburgh. Cleveland is 5-15-1 at home against Pittsburgh. Pittsburgh has shutout the Browns 4 times: 1999 43-0 2000 22-0 2005 41-0 2008 31-0
A great football year for Steeler fans. My friends and I would gather at my place for Steeler games that season. We lost to the Bungles, resulting in a 7-5 record A few of my pals were becoming negative and giving up on the season. After a quick calculation in my alchohol soaked brain I exclaimed, " 8 GAME WINNING STREAK AND THE STEELERS ARE WORLD CHAMPIONS !!!!!!" I then pointed to the wall , where I had proudly taped 7 WASHINGTON OBSERVER REPORTER sports section headlines from the wins. Need I say more ? 🏈
That's awesome!! I have a story kind of similar to that. I remember saying after the end of the season before that that what the Steelers needed to do was sneak in as a wild card. They needed to have a back against the wall, us against the world everyone is doubting us mentality. If that happened we would win the Superbowl because we had the talent and finally had a QB and it always felt like in the past with our teams when we were favored to win or had home-field we tended to get beat in the championship or before. They cut it a lot closer than I thought they would but after it all unfolded my friends thought I was like Nostradamus because it all happened the way I thought it needed to lol. Was also fortunate enough to be at the Monday night game that season when the colts thrashed us. And again at the playoff game with the immaculate tackle to bask in the glory of the revenge!! What a ride that year was!!
Seeing games like this should remind people that Big Ben is a top 10 - 15 QB of all time. I hate that he keeps getting disrespected by people blaming his success only because he had Antonio Brown and Hines Ward. Honorable mentions to Plaxico Burress, Santonio Holmes, JuJu, and Martavis Bryant. All the rest of the WRs Ben threw to were average at best. Look at that TD throw that he threw to Santonio Holmes in the 2009 Super Bowl. There are about 5 QBs that could make that throw. And he actually made that throw twice to different sides of the field. The first one @ 1st and goal :49 seconds on the game clock was a perfect pass to the left corner of the endzone that Santonio didn't catch which is why I was pissed that they gave the MVP to him instead of Big Ben. That was a perfect pass that should have been caught. Though Santonio Holmes had a great game and was a factor in winning the Super Bowl, it was all Big Ben on that final drive. So the very next play @ 2nd and goal :43 seconds on the clock, Big Ben still make the same throw but to the opposite side of the field where only Santonio Holmes could catch it which was the TD catch by Santonio Holmes. Holmes' name would have been mud if he had missed that pass too if that Super Bowl would have been lost. This is an example of how Big Ben gets no credit for how great he is. I'm not saying he's a Peyton Manning or Drew Brees but stop putting Philip Rivers and Eli Manning in the conversation with him. Hell, if you don't remember the play and drive I'm talking about watch it for yourself... ua-cam.com/video/RgBYjtvuEGo/v-deo.html
And last year he didnt make the top 10 QBs of the 2010s. That was pure BS!. Ben is all 2010s. But yet Brady and Manning, the NFL golden boys made it and Manning only played 5 years of the whole decade 🙄
Issue I have is games like the Jags in 2017...they lose 30 to 9 or something but it was closer until he decided to throw 2 pick-sixes He's had games he has led the steelers to a loss based on his decision making but obviously he's won A LOT of games for the same reason The ones they lose just stick with me and make me question him
His best attribute is escaping tackles, running to the sideline, and throwing it up. Usually with success. I cant tell you how many mini heart attacks that guy gave me on 3rd and long plays.
I was at this game as a Steelers fan in Cleveland! Sat in the Dawg Pound and everything! It's my favorite football memory of all time. Some people tried to start some shit but luckily I was with my dad and we're both big dudes who didn't act (too much) like assholes so we only got heckled, not stabbed. Well, until all the Brownies left at halftime because they were getting dumped on.
I remember this game. Such a close game... Steelers were just a few plays from losing it too. My Steelers ... always giving the other team a good close tight "edge of your seat" game. So glad the Browns missed those six touchdowns that they would have needed. Whew!
To think the Browns could've had Roethlisberger in the draft but instead chose... Kellen Winslow II. And who was their starter that year? Kelly Holcomb. Oy.
Watched a good portion of this one at Hartsfield-Jackson waiting for my flight home. Fortunately, this one wasn't a nail-biter. Incidentally, since both sides of my family moved east from Pittsburgh to help establish a new US Steel plant in southeastern Pennsylvania in the early-'50s, I grew up hearing of all of the lore and history of the Pittsburgh area. As far as I could figure it, "Yinz" comes from the indication, "You ones".
After this game, I was like they are gonna go to the bowl. It was 41-0 and the Steelers had two fumbles inside Cleveland’s 20. It could have been worse. The Xmas eve massacre
Hey Yinzburgh! Idea for another video: All the times Quarterbacks punted. (You've got some Kordell and some Big Ben... I wonder if Brad ever did?) 😜😜😜😜😜 Or it could be -- times that players played out of position. Didn't Harrison long snap once?? haha
The fact the Browns cut him in 06 or 07 RIGHT after losing to the Steelers in the season opener is harsh. Of course, only the Browns would do something like that
I remember this game, I am actually glad to see Cleveland finally figuring things out. I have always desired for a competitive Steelers/Browns rivalry.
Among other things, I remember how some Cleveland fan ran onto the field and, for some reason, ran in front of James Harrison. Harrison did a back suplex into a rock-bottom and held the guy down until security got there.
The browns always hoping for a redraw of divisions. Browns goin "I know we are right next to Pittsburgh but can we be the afc west like dallas is nfc east... please god" 🙏 😂😂😂
I have my reservations about that too. I try to tell myself Ben is a once and a generation type QB. Gonna be hard to pull it of back to back. It's not often you get a Montana to Young, favre to Rodgers transition
This is as complete a game as you can get. Jerome, Verron, and Willie all running loose, big chunk plays through the air, Ben and Hines clutch, O-line holding out everything, D-line clogging up everything, blitz packages from every angle with Porter feasting, db's put the clamp on every receiver...fumbles, sacks, tfl's, a blocked punt..even a few fgs from Reed. Domination in every facet...and in THEIR stadium.
Definitely a game where you can tell, one team is hungry and is ready for a title push and one team already made their off-season vacation plans. Game was over before it even started. The Browns even in many defeats, usually play Pittsburgh well....but, this was just sad.
THIS WAS AWESOME BIG BEN LOVE HIM I FIND IT EXTRA EXCITING WHEN WE WHIP BROWNS JUST THINK IN BENS CAREER HE BEAT THE BROWNS 23 TIMES AND I LOVE THEM ALL I HAVE WATCHED EVERY GAME BEN PLAYED IN BEN WAS THE GREATEST QB THE STEELERS EVER HAD WONDERFUL PUMP FAKE AND WHEN BEN HAD THE BALL YOU NEVER SAY NEVER THE PLAY WAS NEVER OVER UNTIL THE BALL LEFT BENS HANDS GO STEELERS AND LOVE YOU BEN HOF QB FOR SURE

I miss that stingy Defense we handled things and with Big Ben in rare form we had alot of Teams afraid to face us. 6 seed didnt matter we did the damn thang
"The Steelers Demolish The Browns" could be the title of 95% of steelers/browns game highlights over the last 20 years.
Beat me to it.
Alexander Evanoski bruh he said 95% so that falls into the 5%
I wouldn't want it any other way...and i met a guy who was fine with the browns possibly getting better and steelers possibly getting worse, that got me heated
kamdaddypurp the Steelers played there backups in that game
So true 👍
Loved cowhers smile of approval at the end. He knew it was their year, so did steel nation!
You can say that now, but no one thought we were beating Indy after the way they beat us earlier in the season. It was after that game that I knew we were golden.
@@pathutchison9866 I disagree. Maybe not the national media, but I remember my Steelers circle being very optimistic

Why’d Footy have to put that poor man to sleep right at the very end? 😂😂😂 ☠️
That was before the Hines Ward rule lol
Rumor has it, the guy is still laying on the turf.
The Foote hit at the end killed a relative
I hope they called the police to report a murder
Lol great finish
I’m pretty sure that TE has no memory of Xmas the next day lol.
Loved it! And love it more when the game is played physical...the way it was intended
That would be a penalty and a fine in today's game. Sad
That high pitched "WOOO HOOOO HOO" is always Hines Ward XD
Batch was the best backup quarterback Pittsburgh has ever had. Damn I wished we had him last year lol
No kidding.
I'm still mad that they didn't start him in that game against (either it was Tennessee or Jacksonville) early in the season after Ben had his appendictemy.

Best back up wb ever in general!!!
I love these condensed games with the scoring and splash plays. Good job!
This was that six seed team huh?! Miss this squad!!! Defense was stingy
Yeah...they were 7-5 and they were faced with the fact that they had to win 8 games in a row, including the Superbowl, of course they just took it one game at a time!
Advanced metrics place the Steelers as the 4th best team overall in 2005. Played in a very difficult AFC at the time.
Looks like Charlie French Fry has nightmares of Joey Porter sacking him still🤣
We had to win this to make the playoffs. But 41-0? Jeesus
Pure domination 😭😭
@Baba Ganush I was at that game, wasn't it Christmas Eve?
A win is a win, whether 41-0 or 41-40
@@keithclark7266 Except one you have pride of being competitive and the other you might as well call pittsburgh big daddy.

That Foote hit at the end would be a 15 yard penalty today, good god! Things sure were better when Paul tagliabue was commissioner
I think the Steelers had more fans there then the Browns did ... Beast mode over-drive! Great vid Itz ... again.
This was a special team......Charlie Frye had a long day #ohwell #sameolebrownies
At some point during this game, the Browns front office probably realized they fucked up by passing on Ben in the draft the year before

Jerome Bettis TD trucking!!! Lets go!!!!
7:35 man I miss Troy, HOW THE HELL YOU GET DELAYED BY A BLOCK AND STILL ABLE TO MAKE THE TACKLE? doing STOP, DROP, AND ROLL?? 🤣

Joey Porter dominated too

I really miss big snack.
The guy needs to brought into the conversation for hall of fame, that defense started with him
Wasn't this the game where the Cleveland fan got tackled by James Harrison?
Sure was
No I don't think it was
It was definitely this one. The jagoff Brown fan ran on the field and taunted Harrison. Mistake.
Ben....most wins by a QB in Cleveland Stadium history....that says it all.
That's typical Cleveland Browns right there.

The best game of the year during that season! It was fun to watch!! #GOSTEELERS!!
I remember telling my mom I thought we would win the Superbowl after this game!
Sure enough they did as a wild card!
That's putting our boot on the throat and not letting up !
Hell yeah!! They need to do that more. In today's NFL it's so much harder to put teams away due to rules and officiating
Almost makes you feel bad for browns fans...almost. What a dismantling
8:32 - The final punctuation mark to an absolutely demoralizing story for the Browns. Followed by Caaher looking particularly pleased.
8:33 that was... COLD BLOODED!!!
Quincy Morgan roasting Cleveland after his TD! Lol

Every player on this team was at the very least solid in their roles, from top to bottom, it was remarkable
The announcers sounded so tired of the browns bull shit 🤣
With a special guest appearance by Charlie Batch
We’ll get back there, STEELER NATION!!! #PS4L

He definitely did, his throwing mechanics improved quite a bit
