This would definitely be on my top 10 wishlist. Like what about ship salvaging? Haunted ships? Inhabited by space bugs and fight through? I’d like the garden worlds also to be able to be landed on and explored.
Would need ship interiors for derelict ships for that to happen. And we know Fdev's stance on that. But that would be something on my list as well. Would make exploration worthwhile rather than scan the same rocks and patches of stuff.
Like loads of others, I was on a break… kept in touch though with your content, so thanks to you all in the Burr Pit. I know it is not on the cards but I would love to see some work done on planets, they are very samey…
Last weekend I joined the 1 million LY travelled club - a decade in the making. I hope the recent news brings many players back. May many more join the 1 million LY travelled club.
This new communication has finally inspired me to dive back in. All the patches have really improved performance for me across the board. Very refreshing to be back once more. I am so very excited to see the new ships in future.
Same for me. I’ve barely played since void opals became less profitable. Odyssey 100% did it in for me and I uninstalled the game. I played in VR last night and was surprised with some of the improvements since the DLC came out. I’m still skeptical but it would be nice to see Frontier actually communicate with us.
I feel it is promising on this possible new turn for Fdev. If they can keep this pace of news/communication and development - it would be huge. I am hoping for base building. Not so much because I am a big base builder, Im mediocre at best, but I think that implementing this feature would bring more of players to the game. Both old and new. Great overlook and theorizing video. o7 o7 o7
Python Mark 2 Features? Interiors!! What an opportunity to give the new ships interiors. I understand the logistical issues with doing it to current ships, but seems an ideal time to do it to new ships!
This really sounds so much more optimistic than anything I have heard about Elite Dangerous during past 4-5 years ! ED has such huge, almost unbelievable potential and now maybe they are on the right track.... I CERTAINLY HOPE SO !!!
Informative, thoughtful and concise as ever - thank you Commanders o7. Fingers crossed that FDev listens to your accurate assessment of long term player sentiment and what is required to maintain the current positive response (which investment will be rewarded with ongoing player engagement - a truly virtuous cycle).
What's the point of atmospheric landings if you don't have very diversified plants (not the same species all over the galaxy with a stubble difference of colour), fauna, climate and... base building!
@@Desirsar I'm more about factions and BGS than powerplay as I'm part of a faction present in the game, the LOSP (allied to Burr Pit's, but the way 😉).
Brilliantly done, CMDR! It's like you were reading my mind and posts on the topic. I, too, hope this is a new Frontier that interacts more often with the community. Long live Elite Dangerous!!
Logged in for the first time in over a year.... Setting up my HOTAS as we speak. As for what features are on my wishlist? Customisable ship interiors, home built bases, atmospheric planets... pretty please.
I come from the year 2055, Elite is still being updated, ship interiors are almost ready, it will only take a couple more years, we just need to wait through this maintenance period I swear, the single developer is working very hard and is busy with the thargoid war
This is the one feature I truly hope will be added. I hope they're all different, and not just reskinned like all small ships having the same rooms. Seeing with just how big even a sidewinder's interior is I would love to be able to walk around in my Cutter.
@@OverlordSpartan The size of the ships is exactly the problem. They'd need to map interiors for all the ships in the game. And though I'd love to have interiors too, I am absolutely sure more than half of the players will not walk around in their ships much after some time, because there's not much to do in there. And if they would add things to do, I could only imagine that's repairs or similar thing. Holding effort versus actual content it wouldn't pay off. Just walking around in an environment gets old very quickly, even if it's a very beautiful and awesome environment. Otherwise I would never stop playing my very awesomely modded Skyrim or Kingdome Come Deliverance. So I get why it didn't come and I don't think it will. Ever. People screamed for spacelegs since forever, until they got them. And see what happened.
@@valorin5762 They don't have to map out the whole of the larger ships. They will likely have to fully map out the small and medium ships as they are so small though. But the larger ships won't need that. They just take a turbo style lift to different sections of the ship.
I come from the year 2056, Elite is still being updated, ship interiors are almost ready, it will only take a couple more years, we just need to wait through this maintenance period I swear, the AI developer is working very hard and is busy with the thargoid war
I've dusted off the warthog, rudder pedals, and Akai MPKmini controlller, and am well and truly back in Elite Dangerous. Excited about the future! The feature I'd love to see is the seamless switch between on-foot and being in the ship. Namely, walking into the ship, to the cockpit, and sitting down. That'll just make the game feel so much more immersive and alive!
@@owlangel7234 Let's hope they fix VR on foot too! I play in VR and with Track-IR depending on the mood. It'd be sad to see VR die out considering how awesome it is!
@@another.worlder That would be great. It shouldn't be hard but I think onfoot frame rates could be a nausea issue as my PC often struggles in combat zones
I would hope its base building over ship interiors. with powerplay and the player factions being stopped I'm going to speculate its some sort of new type of "Player Factions" on a smaller scale.
I was itching to spend some time in elite just before the announcement of ships and the live stream and your reporting Burr sealed the deal. The up front communication IS to my mind a new Frontier in that regard. HOWEVER! Follow through is key here.
Until I see it (whatever 'IT' is), I am skeptical of anything FDev announces. If you don't have high expectations, you will not be disappointed. And I want to thank FDev for teaching me this.
A nice video as always! 😀🤘 . However dammit, you had my hopes up for s split second when i was reading the description, where it says "content updates", i thought it said "CONSOLE updates" - which we REALLY should have had by now! (Ideally the full live game on next consoles or even "whatever works" on last gen consoles!) 😯😂😀🤘🤞 .
I would like FDev to do a balance pass across all ships. Further, I would like them to retune a few ships, especially ships in the same style/class and either a) calibrate them for specific roles (i.e. Combat vs Trade vs Mining vs whatever) or b) put them in different size classes (like the Alliance ships: Chieftain-Sm, Crusader-Md, Challenger-Lg). The medium size class is overcrowded, small size is a bit useless in much of the game, and there aren't enough large ships. Since everything is already modular, if they could figure out how to add shipbuilding like Starfield they would never have to make another ship. Barring that, at least 1 new ship every 6 months (preferably quarter). Add in to that more alien ruins to explore and more alien enemies (left over Guardian AI robot ships, new evil race, etc). Finally, Raxxla.
I wonder if the graphics engine as such will get an overhaul. Cobra 2024 version - to allow for caves. Less light bleeding, render only things needed. Etc.
I would like to see the four ships have a dedicated role, combat, exploration, mining and space trucking. I would also like to see cargo on ships stay on that ship when transferring to another ship. No more selling items you want to keep just so you want to use a smaller ship. Bring the game up to date FGS.
I agree with the cargo, but I'll be disappointed if the new ships are too squarely only useful in one role - that severely limits the build diversity. Case in point, I use a corvette as my mining ship because it can be a decent one if outfitted for it, despite being a combat oriented ship. It's not 100% optimal, but the armour and maneuverability I very much enjoy over a type-9 or similar.
@@ambientimpact Precisely, there are enough ships that you can modify to do anything mostly poorly with a role exception for each. As far as mining goes, having tried nearly all of the current ships, in my opinion, not one of them are very good at being a mining ship.
@@thecaptain7119 What? I really like my 256t cargo mining Federal Corvette build with 17 active collectors. I usually do regular laser mining in overlapping Platinum hotsots and this one will be filled within 40 minutes. I also have a T9 if I want to be out longer in the asteroid field... with 15 active collectors and 512 cargo space. :)
This really is encouraging. I would like to see more direct engagement with users in the form of surveys or other interactions where FDev can learn more about what users want/need and use that to guide future development. The brand new feature and new ships are certainly a nod in that direction. I'm excited for EDs future more than I've been since before Odyssey's release. Thank you commander Buur! o7
Base Building, if it happens, could really expand the occupation of the Galaxy by humanity. That is supposing that it won't be as expensive as a Fleet Carrier currently is. One would expect that a station platform or planetary base would be self sufficient, or at least potentially so with a reasonable amount of work. I can see small bases springing up on the trail to Colonia first, then branching out to other parts of the so far undiscovered Galaxy as players set out to homestead a system, offering the things that new towns in any frontier have in the past: Food, Lodging, Supplies, and _Adventure._ Fingers crossed...
Elite currently sits at an interesting position. Even with the massive disappointment of Odyssey, today, people are looking more into space games due to the popularity (weather good or bad) of Starfield and Star Citizen. Elite has the potential of being something different than SC but offer an equal compelling experience. Elite needs, gameplay fixes (the grind), ship interiors (FDEV can suck it saying this feature doesn't have any gameplay value, it is simply a lie), planet atmospheres (enough with rocks, we need forests, snow, real atmospheric planets), new ships, EVA (at least to the level of X4 or StarTrucker). Again, Starfield introduced the general media into space games and those disappointed will look into Elite or Star Citizen. However, given how FDEV worked in the past and their minimum viable product approach, I sincerely doubt it'll reach its full potential. And whatever they are promising now will surely fall short of expectations like it always had these last years. I won't hold my breath, but I hope I get to be proven wrong
o7 I genuinely wish FDev all the best with their plans and I certainly hope it turns out well. That being said, FDev has a record of making exciting promises, but then fails to deliver. So I remain cautious for now. The announcements sound very promising indeed (FINALLY new ships! and I LOVE the looks of the Python Mk II). Powerplay overhaul sounds interesting. It's something I've only engaged with to get my filthy little fingers on Prismatic Shields and Packhounds. Considering there is zero information about the nature of the changes and we're free to throw some Arx into the wishing well at Sag A*: I'm rooting for EVE Online style player alliances/groups that compete with one another in powerplay. Rather than the old PMF system where you "adopt" a faction, it's player squadrons that can "control" space AND can actually get something out of this. This COULD fit neatly into the "base building" rumors. Bonus Arx if that's not limited to the bubble and players can build bases somewhere out in the black (my favorite retirement home is as far away from other human beings as possible. 40k+ LY should be a good start). But that being said, no need for any speculation and/or hype train until we know even remotely what the powerplay changes are going to look like. On Page 1 in the book "Wisdoms for the intrepid Commander" Rule #1 clearly states: "Manage your expectations".
Im guessing the new varients will be required for hauling and deploying the new modular mining bases. In the same way you need a fighter bay or SRV bay or a refinery/auto field maintenance. You will need a base factory unit and building schematics. Probably only one building schematic per factory and larger factories needed for bigger bases.
I wouldn't mind all of these, but what I really want is the planets. Going back to console support seems _very_ unlikely. I am absolutely sure they wouldn't have cut it, if they could somehow get it to run. That move hurt them too, I'm very sure.
I agree, except I play on PC and feel like console support is much more important than ship interiors. Ship interiors would be good only if they included a wide variety of activities within the ship. But just to walk around? Nah, not worth it to spend your resources on dead ship interiors, id prefer console support instead.
Until it all materializes i’m still a pessimist. Frontier has taken us through this same exact song and dance over the years. With a much smaller playerbase and budget i see little reason to keep hope.
There is nothing like Elite on the market, that's why I hope FDEV can let become that game that was promised in the beginning. I don't want to play another game, I want this one to work. I am looking forward to power play. I really hope they encourage open play gameplay with benefits to playing it in a wing. That way I could bring back my friends who stopped playing. Currently I am feeling the game designers prefer us playing alone. Playing a game together keeps people in the game. I hope FDEV thinks that too.
You know, we're going to need the T11 BargeMaster (T9 variant) to move base building materials to the surface from Fleet Carriers, or directly from sources across the galaxy. I'm going to start looking for a nice pretty planet with a beautiful view of a nebula.... o7!
I was hoping for base building and manufacturing since Odyssey came out. Supply your base with materials to build commodities and distribute them to profitable markets.
As someone who was enjoying doing refugee runs but isn't a combat pilot, I did indeed feel locked out by later developments in the Thargoid war, so I'm glad that some thought is now being put into what to do for players who simply don't want to engage with that kind of content. As for new ship capabilities... I'd love them to open up worlds with denser atmospheres, clouds, precipitation. Maybe throw in a new gas mining module, have us skimming gas giants for compounds that don't show up so much on terrestrial bodies. We often say ED is a game about space ships, but the secondary part is it's a game about spaceships visiting places, and I think sometimes FDev don't realise how much more fun it is to have more than just stars outside your canopy. (Side note, more signal sources near planets and less on the distant edges of systems!)
Logged in, doing some Robigo Passenger Missions for some cash, and ready to go for the end of this month. Hoping this means a lot of new stuff, and if they are listening, hoping this will eventually mean ship interiors.
I'm still on my ED break, but I know, I will return. ED is still my number 1 game since 2016; two accounts, both on Odyssey, and way over 1.000 hours in game. But those news make me very excited :D Hope I'll soon find the motivation to get back in the pilot seat. There are materials to gather - new ships require new engineering
Wishlist - PP should be mission driven, not shipping pamphlets, etc. - Impact of activity more visible. - logic, when you are with one of the three big ones, you get a bonus/penalty when supporting/undermining a power faction - faction specific, pre-modded ships you can’t buy, but are lended to you
I'm pretty sure it will be based building, although I'm guessing it will be modular prefab blocks rather than true custom building like NMS. I really hope it includes a new mining ground vehicle too. I hope also that the base building allows human colonisation outside the already inhabited systems, even if it's tiered so that you can only build science or mining outposts until the system is adopted by a Faction and more advanced bases can be built. I don't want it to be easy, but also I don't want it to require factions or squadrons like they nearly did with Fleet carriers.
@@TheBuurPit I think also we have to be prepared for a limited number of player created bases per system as in Fleet Carrier limits. Possibly one per planet :( which would be sad but understandable.
Well as always would love to have even limited ship interiors, as in cockpit. But would also like to be able to use multi-crew with wing/team. Wouldn't mind some deep space search and rescue, like 20,000 lyrs or more one way. But above all they keep the lines of communication open!
02:06 This exactly. I'd played Elite since launch (21W) and am a very cautious solo player. I have more ships then rebuys and have only allowed myself one of each type of ship. When I jumped into the Thargoid war, I was looking forward to some new content. I spent many hours (and a few rebuys) fighting outside stations, running passengers, etc...in the name of humanity. I even made it to the point of filling the bar all the way across on one such conflict only to be dismayed at the arrival of two Hydra class vessels as if to say "only the best of the best are allowed in here solo, and you are not them" The arrival of the hunter class vessels (and probably Starfield...if only for a while) convinced me to play other things for now. I updated and played a bit of on-foot exploration the other day. I would love to do some more and even participate in the war if they were willing to make the experience a bit more solo player friendly. Here are a few suggestions: - Random interdictions/hyperdictions in and between Incursion and controlled systems should include a few non-replenishing scouts followed by a Cyclops interceptor. Sometimes that Cyclops, if killed, can bring in a Basilisk or larger. Glaves should only appear in the Maelstrom systems themselves and a single Scythe may instead appear if you are carrying passengers or pods. This means people can outfit passenger vessels to fight just the Scythe and can run from all else. Again, cargo ships will only encounter the initial interdiction/hyperdiction of scouts and can run. - Low-intensity AX conflict zones within an Incursion or controlled system should be scouts bringing in a single Cyclops. The scouts + Cyclops combination (with friendly ships around) should continue to replenish until the bar is complete and the conflict will be over. - Medium-intensity AX conflict zones should be the same as low but with a single Basilisk added to the mix. Once the Basilisk is killed, it should not respawn. Stations should also be of the Medium variety - High-intensity AX conflict zones should be wing-friendly with replenishing Basilisk interceptors culminating in the appearance of a Hydra once the bar is full. - For the on-foot missions, there should not be more than a few waves of Revenants in reactivation sites - maybe with a rare occurrence of a single Banshee. One wave should appear after you reactivate power so that you cannot just wax them all with rockets from your ship. Otherwise, Banshee drones should only consistently appear at Spire sites on the ground as they do. The goal here would be to hike into settlements and hide or take out the defenders so you can recall your ship closer while no more drones are around. These are my recommendations for making Thargoid content challenging but possible for different player groups.
I am very excited they are going to update this game! I just started and still learning so this is amazing news for me. I think ED is a very cool game, I normally play Star Citizen and always wanted to try ED and I am glad I did! Bring this gem back to life!
Hopefully power play will become worth doing. The current version is a money sink you grind for the ability to buy a few ship parts then switch factions and repeat until you own everything of interest.
Finally seems like frontier are making steps on their promise to actually yano... develop their game and communicate properly. I quit after a while due to how the game was handled development wise but I just reinstalled after their recent behaviour.
Bah, I just wish they hadn't abandoned console development. Ain't got a PC, and I see no point in playing a truly abandoned port. They claimed it was for performance reasons, but the PS5 version of no mans sky has features the PS4 version doesn't - I see no reason why they can't just make odyssey exclusive to current gen consoles
I think it is time to give the game another chance ❤ If I could build my little cottage in a far far gala…. planet, hidden from everyone, then I would deffo consider buying some arx to decorate it
Base-building is one of the big things offered by other space games like Starfield and No Man's Sky. It's also a great way to incorporate their expertise at managements sims. They could take steps toward it using fleet carriers, which really need a refresh. Also, if FDev wants to keep the ball rolling, adding smaller updates to fix stuff like on-foot engineering, arena/CQC, racing, and more would keep the ball rolling. In gridiron football, sometimes you can score just by keeping up a steady string of first downs - even if they aren't spectacular, you still keep moving.
Basebuilding would make sense because in the end it offers a great opportunity to sell cosmetics for our bases. Same goes for Fleet Carriers. If there was cosmetics for it's interiors, I'd definitely buy, though I'm very rarely there. :D I hope though, that new feature will be something that gets me back into the cockpit, which would be mostly exploration stuff, but well, we'll see. I'm glad those who like it get their Powerplay update, though I couldn't care less, to be honest. :D
If they actually choose Base Building over Ship Interiors ... Well that would be rather weird to say the least. Especially since we already have gigantic Fleet Carriers that act as full bases.
I Hope these extraordinary news relife an extraordinary game, for this purpose i'm decided to help new players with my recently Elite Explorer grade recently aquired. The truth is Elite never has gone...
Been back now 3 weeks, been a hoot in amongst the positive news. Trying fast to get up to date with engineers guardian modules and other content as well as having a crack at the Thargoid war. Looking forward to the future now that I know Elite has one. Also all of the performance tweaks have greatly improved my experience with the game. I can turn everything up to full and no frame rate drops!
What I will be doing; waiting to see what what they’ve done once they release it. What I won’t be doing; assuming it’ll be based on guess work or speculation.
Let the flame wars about ship interiors commence 🤣 I was right about elite feet being an update no one would enjoy and I'll die on the hill that ship interiors will be the same mis-use of dev resources.
o7 CMDR Burr! Reading between the lines, trying to put the pieces of the puzzle together I am wondering, whether the ultimate goal is to offer the capability to start your own settlements on planets ran by your own (new version of the ) player faction. If my conclusions are anywhere near FDEV's desired plans, then boy, oh boy, we ARE in for a huge treat.
I'm happy to see what Frontier does this year with Elite, I really hope we get ship interiors, I'd love to walk around inside my anaconda as that thing is huge. Maybe even do a bit more with Odyssey, I like Odyssey now now that it's actually more optimized than it was, and base building sounds fun, kinda similar to starfield but more fleshed out would be cool.
Been checking in with the game once a month or so for the past half year after some of the initial momentum of the Thargoid War died down (I respect the AX teams, though after they stopped planetary port invasions, the combat wasn't as fun for me). Came back in a bigger way in the past few days and been having a great time. The simple fact there's a garunteed future of some kind has really helped cure the burnout!
I've just been perplexed by Frontier's treatment of Elite. Such a huge IP to have been left to go stale. It's good they are providing some updates but is it too little too late?
I think internally they didn't think it was stale. They really put massive effort into Thargoid war, beautiful assets, some huge ones like the Titans, just a shame that I like many others just didn't have the time for the Xeno grind. I think it's a case of being out of touch, with your customers and wondering why your move to become a vegan restaurant resulted in a collapse of your regulars.
@@owlangel7234 I disagree. I think Frontier Developments were looking for reasons to let Elite go. It had it's heyday and it's no doubt full of technological debt that isn't hugely appealing to untangle. But it's nearly 10 years old. Also, the timing. The end of the Thargoid War, whatever outcome: "Thank you for playing. Game is maintenance only while we surf on IP money." - It's even funnier to think about this since we got the rumoured Scam 🤡Citizen release date. F1 and Warhammer are such huge IPs, to have them just not meet expectations, I'm not terribly surprised that they fell back on a sensible path of supporting already existing games. The way I see it, the main difficulty with supporting Elite at this point is to get fresh eyes (and fresh wallets, I bought into the premium beta in 2014, so it probably doesn't matter to them whether I play or not) on it and not have them immediately turned away by the complexity. Hopefully FDEV have a plan for this. Even if we get cool new features, or a modern graphics engine, or walking ships or atmospheric flight, they still need to find income.
2024's roadmap looks interesting, what would be excellent is if they addressed the major / annoying bugs (SRV exit/board is Russian roulette) and, ideally, get rid of the historic 32 button controller limit!
Would a new role/activity be EVA capabilities? I.e. which requires new suit types and maybe new flora that exists just floating in deep space.......... It really might not be that difficult to add that to the game! Was that suggested ever before and what are your thoughts on that?
@@RudolfKlusalmanually repairing small amount of hull damage and modules with hand tools? I think that would be enough reason. Good for deep space explorers. Good for combat, and high risk high reward if you're not out free of a combat zone. Silent mode > quick Eva to repair a damage module > Hurry back before overheat or detection by hostile.
Your estimate of base building is most likely correct. Personally, I would love ship interiors; afterall who needs a base if my Conda or Type 10 was my base. :) All these gorgeous ships but can't walk through them (despite what Braben has said in the past about interiors). Based on the recent financials, the changes to the game need to work for the survival of the game. Thanks for the updates!
Hopefully Fdev realizes that lack of communication will kill their game far more than missed deadlines, targets, and buggy featuresets.

It's good to be back
I got shocked by the new Thargoid Glaives and I got beaten up because im rusty af with the controls again
I'd worry that this would cause VR support to die for pilots. Unless of course they fix on foot VR
I'm fairly confident it's base building
@@suburbia2050 static fleet carriers?
I was itching to spend some time in elite just before the announcement of ships and the live stream and your reporting Burr sealed the deal.
The up front communication IS to my mind a new Frontier in that regard. HOWEVER! Follow through is key here.
It IS going to be a fascinating year... Of that, we have NO doubt :)
Until I see it (whatever 'IT' is), I am skeptical of anything FDev announces. If you don't have high expectations, you will not be disappointed. And I want to thank FDev for teaching me this.
yea 😊
Agree. I'm telling myself the new feature will be ordering drinks from the bar.
Etc.
imagen The Buur Pit as a powerplay faction with Buur as its president. I wonder what module, bonuses and such we could get from that 😄
Heavily engineered sandwiches ;) o7
@@TheBuurPit oh proper sandwitches, yes plz o7
I can see small bases springing up on the trail to Colonia first, then branching out to other parts of the so far undiscovered Galaxy as players set out to homestead a system, offering the things that new towns in any frontier have in the past: Food, Lodging, Supplies, and _Adventure._
Fingers crossed...
Players: WE. WANT. SHIP. INTERIORS.
FDEV: we hear you and we're giving you base building
Every single time. 🤦
I won't hold my breath, but I hope I get to be proven wrong
o7
I genuinely wish FDev all the best with their plans and I certainly hope it turns out well.
Finish the game, all planets unlocked, ship interiors, return to console support.
would love a supported console version i could play with my console buddies
As more time progresses I think it's more likely it will come back to future consoles. (FDEV strategy going forward post restructure)
Would love to see base building, more things to discover doing exploration, better ways for players to connect in game.
I'm going to start looking for a nice pretty planet with a beautiful view of a nebula.... o7!
Maybe the ship overhauls will include things like making the making the Type-6 & 7 a size smaller, and making the Asp Scott a little more useful
Even just being able to purchase pre-made surface and orbital habitats would be fantastic. Maybe one day Elite will have a real player economy.
I was hoping for base building and manufacturing since Odyssey came out. Supply your base with materials to build commodities and distribute them to profitable markets.
I will need an Elite refugee re-onboarding guide :D
I'm really happy that new things are happening, but you won't see me back out there until I can get my hands on the Boa.
A combat type 7 would be funny to see, it could be fitted with a battering ram like the old greek & Roman ships.
Full atmospheric flight is highly unlikely.
But wouldn’t be an amazing surprise?
Logged in, doing some Robigo Passenger Missions for some cash, and ready to go for the end of this month.
Hoping this means a lot of new stuff, and if they are listening, hoping this will eventually mean ship interiors.
I'm still on my ED break, but I know, I will return. ED is still my number 1 game since 2016; two accounts, both on Odyssey, and way over 1.000 hours in game. But those news make me very excited :D Hope I'll soon find the motivation to get back in the pilot seat. There are materials to gather - new ships require new engineering
I'm so hyped 😮
This is great news for Elite Dangerous. A craft with a double basic range of any current exploration vehicle would be welcomed.
Wishlist
- PP should be mission driven, not shipping pamphlets, etc.
- Impact of activity more visible.
- logic, when you are with one of the three big ones, you get a bonus/penalty when supporting/undermining a power faction
- faction specific, pre-modded ships you can’t buy, but are lended to you
I'm pretty sure it will be based building, although I'm guessing it will be modular prefab blocks rather than true custom building like NMS.
Yeah I think modular blocks also. I'm hoping for a hybrid model with solo and squadron catered to. O7
@@TheBuurPit I think also we have to be prepared for a limited number of player created bases per system as in Fleet Carrier limits. Possibly one per planet :( which would be sad but understandable.
Been gone for almost 2 years now, but now i installed it again and see what 18/19 updates bring. Lets hope for a bright future for elite o7.
This is crazy and I luv et!
I love this game. Can't wait to see what they have in store
Well as always would love to have even limited ship interiors, as in cockpit. But would also like to be able to use multi-crew with wing/team.
Wouldn't mind some deep space search and rescue, like 20,000 lyrs or more one way.
But above all they keep the lines of communication open!
Will they be nerfing the type 8's invisibility? I'd like to be able to actually see it
Bought $40 worth of ARX to show my appreciation
😮
If they bring out a new Vulture all is forgiven.
geez now that the war is ending i should do my part and enlist.
I even made it to the point of filling the bar all the way across on one such conflict only to be dismayed at the arrival of two Hydra class vessels as if to say "only the best of the best are allowed in here solo, and you are not them"
The arrival of the hunter class vessels (and probably Starfield...if only for a while) convinced me to play other things for now.
I updated and played a bit of on-foot exploration the other day. I would love to do some more and even participate in the war if they were willing to make the experience a bit more solo player friendly. Here are a few suggestions:
- Random interdictions/hyperdictions in and between Incursion and controlled systems should include a few non-replenishing scouts followed by a Cyclops interceptor.
Stations should also be of the Medium variety
- High-intensity AX conflict zones should be wing-friendly with replenishing Basilisk interceptors culminating in the appearance of a Hydra once the bar is full.
Completely agree. There's a bunch of smaller refreshes and tweaks that would add so much to the existing game.
Basebuilding would make sense because in the end it offers a great opportunity to sell cosmetics for our bases. Same goes for Fleet Carriers. If there was cosmetics for it's interiors, I'd definitely buy, though I'm very rarely there. :D
I hope though, that new feature will be something that gets me back into the cockpit, which would be mostly exploration stuff, but well, we'll see.
I'm glad those who like it get their Powerplay update, though I couldn't care less, to be honest. :D
It also provides an incentive for players to buy future paid DLC based on new planet type access
As in real estate: exploration exploration exploration. I'll return if and when.
If they actually choose Base Building over Ship Interiors ... Well that would be rather weird to say the least. Especially since we already have gigantic Fleet Carriers that act as full bases.
A discord post mentioned building schematic prices skyrocketed.
I'm back in the Black :)
I detect a satisfying hum in my FSD
Please.... Ship interiors along with base building.
I'm thinking that we will see war between the powers.
Let the flame wars about ship interiors commence 🤣
I was right about elite feet being an update no one would enjoy and I'll die on the hill that ship interiors will be the same mis-use of dev resources.
I'm with you. If they release interiors, there will be a spike in players then people move on. A complete waste of resources.
Awesome as ever. o7 cmdr's 😎👍
o7 CMDR Burr!
I have similar hopes. Tieing it to squadrons as well as individuals would seem an obvious move as well.
My guess in the February 2024 is the feature would be either atmospheric landings, base buildings or engineering redo in that order.
Is it possible that the overhaul to Powerplay will involve player made factions in powerplay - faction vs faction; not just superpower vs superpower
Yay!
Base building in elite.... interesting 😮
I would like a completely revamped multi crew and ship interiors. I would like the new ships to go/feel faster. Jump further.
I'll return when there is some indication they intend to build some more onto Ody gameplay.
I reckon they might be looking at longer jump distances?
Cautiously optimistic..
Would a new role/activity be EVA capabilities? I.e. which requires new suit types and maybe new flora that exists just floating in deep space.......... It really might not be that difficult to add that to the game! Was that suggested ever before and what are your thoughts on that?
Eva, i like the possibility, but why though. It must be wrapped around some game loop I'd guess.
I'd love to see EVA
Yes, that kind would be great! 🙂
