An icon and a legend. Really wish we had gotten her on a return at any point, now I’m afraid we’re never getting it. Her winning game is imo one of the strongest in the first few seasons and she desesrves massive amounts of credit for being the first black winner in an era where black people were being treated as novelty characters. If there’s one person I want to see back on 50 over anyone else, it’s Vecepia Towery.
Yes! we missed Vee!! She would have deserved a spot along with some OG Old School Survivors.
So here's the thing about Winners at War. It was a very hard cast to get on to. Either A.) they won a season with returning players or B.) played in 31 and above. If you take out of the cast people who fit in those two categories you left with Tony, Ethan, Yul, Natalie, and Kim. Now out of the girls there are only two Kim and Natalie who are girls. So you aren't saying no to Kim and you have to ask her. So basically once Kim said yes there was one slot for EVERY female winner not casted and also Natalie Anderson, so the numbers are one slot 5 people could fill it. Also one winner in Natalie was in the 20s of seasons.
You're describing trends in the end result, not the way it *had* to be cast. They didn't even try to contact Vecepia.
@@corealitytv yes but looking at the end you can solve where people were on the list to call. So we know there are 39 winners. Clearly its Boston Rob is #1 because production loves him. Amber would be #2 because it was the same call. Sandra and Parvati have to be up in high numbers. Now as I said we know Returning Player Season Winners are high, the only 2 not there Chris and Cochran were called. Plus you can assume from looking at the finished cast recent season winners were called before Others. So now lets say there's 5 winners that are a first call ill say Boston rob and amber, hatch, parviti, Sandra so that fills calls to 1-5 There are 9 recent seasons (31-38) so now we can fill in 6-14. Next we will fill in the Returning player winners not counted so you are at calls which is 4 more. So 15-18. So you only have 21, out of which you have Ethan, Kim, Yul, Tony, Natalie, who were cast. Tina was an alternate so now we can subtract those you get 15 more calls. You have only gotten through the cast, hatch, Cochran, Chris, and tina, now we can assume Bob and Brian are on the tail end because of age and behavior so that is slots 38 and 39. So we added in a female alternate but there had to be a male one which makes him #15. Which means even if she was number 14 to call she would have had to go through 26 other winners. Plus I think the other thing that doomed her, Hatch, Tina, Rob, Amber, Sandra, all said yes meaning out of the how ever many old school winners they wanted to have an idea of they already knew of that many.
Really insane that there were 3 perfect opportunities to have her back for Allstars, Game Changers, & WaW & all 3 passed up on her. Game Changers for me is the most confusing of the 3 as considering how lackluster that cast was as outside the likes of Sandra, Tony, & Cirie there is no way Vecepia wouldn't have been a better choice than at least half the people there.
I can understand Game Changers given the theme, perception of her, and the relatively limited slots for winners, but Winners at War is the one that really sticks out to me. There's at least 3 people I can see as easy swap outs for her.
And it’s probably too late for Vecepia now because she’ll be about 60 when S50 comes around.
I like Vee but she isn't good Tv
of course people will have political bias to justify their reasons for picking her
I rather watch Richard Hatch back at winners at war than her. But again, sensitivity bias at play here
I mean... she could have replace Danni (I'd prefer Vee than Danni)
But Danni positioned herself (not waiting for a call) for an all winner season years ago
