- Jeff Probst returns as host of 'Survivor' season 45, which hits screens 23 years after he snuffed out his first torch. Probst looks back at his first ET interview from the set of the hit competition show, surprised to learn he would answer the questions the same way more than two decades later. Plus, he discusses Sia being a superfan of the series and who might replace him whenever he retires. Probst then shares how they've upped the ante for season 45, which features 90-minute episodes! 'Survivor' airs Wednesdays at 8 p.m. ET/PT on CBS.

Jeff Probst is an amazing host. I don't think he excels as an executive producer sadly, but ya he does a phenomenal job as the host. He will always be the one and only host.
I think he's a great producer, too. Survivor would get pretty stale without some of his changes. Not all of them are great, but he has had an overwhelmingly positive effect on the progression of the show.

Yaa, I would not say he is bad at being executive producer. I think some changes just don't work me being a superfan. I do, however, like when he tries new things as long as it doesn't overpower the game, aka, Cirie getting Idol Armageddon in GC haha@@marcamusprime9513
considering probst became a exc producer after gabon (a very messy season) the seasons that came after, Tocantins, Samoa and a top 3 seeason in Heros vs Villians, they all were great seasons with some great stories on the survivors, maybe in these recent seasons its not close but he still greatly improved the show when he was put in the role
The intro of this show was so good I can't even ....the soundtracks in general were really good ...
Jeff is one of the best hosts of reality TV. Just wish they could take it back to 38 days. Love that it's going to 90 min. episodes though. Have watched since Season 1 23 yrs ago

I hope they also go back to 39 days seasons.
Colby could definitely host Survivor and everyone would accept him. He's a veteran player so he's had the experience and also hosted a reality show in Top Shot.
Definitely has to be a former player as the next host. Only logical choice.
PS: His successor? Oh, come on, has to be Boston Rob. Everyone knows they're madly bromantic. XD

Oh please, the only TV host ever more likeable than Jeff was Alex Trebek. Difference is, and Russell Hantz is right when he says this, Jeff is the most hardworking host ever on TV. Yeah, Jeff, you get complos even from Russ.

He has certainly become a much more entertaining host as time has gone on. In the earlier seasons, he looked bored as hell, barely said anything during challenges, and it took him enough time to make a sandwich to read off each vote.
They need to bring back returnees and cast more people representative of America! Move the pendulum back a bit!

Disagree 1000% it was the best casting ever. Casting has stunk for many seasons now. I keep hoping casting gets better, then I watched E1 of this season. So I agree s44 casting appears to be much better than this, it was nowhere near the best. Not sure how anyone can say that unless they were related to some of the players or only started watching survivor within the last couple of seasons.
I really hate casting for modern Survivor. Everyone is like a 20-year-old liberal arts college student, even when they're 35 or 40. There's a ton of racial diversity now, but almost zero personality diversity. Emily and Bruce look like they could be interesting characters, but everyone else is really fake and forgettable so far.
