  • This is the final step in the mudding and taping process. I used a WEN power sander for the large areas of the walls and it seems to work quite well for an affordable price. For the more detailed areas, like the inside corners and along the ceiling, I used fine sanding sponges with an angle on one side. I did see the walls after they were painted and I was pleased with the final result!

That wen sander is way underrated. I ran that same one for 5 years before getting my festool and it did just as good of a job as my festool. Good job man

My shoulders thank me every time I use it, as compared to the pole sander. Thanks for the comment Rob!

I hope it works out for you. I found the finer grit leaves fewer unintentional lines.

I too did want to0 see it in normal speed at least for a bit. I am impressed with your mud work. The fact you use boxes tells me you know what you are doing and are a much better finisher than myself. If you like this machine, than that says a lot. Further, I see you didn't use a particle mask until you started hand sanding tells me how effective the dust collection is. You scooted right through the job in what, 30 minutes? Thanks for posting. Nice video work too.

I just used my new Wen sander. Nice. Mine has the motor mounted off the head. It’s still a chore to sand ceilings.
The motor heats up to burning hot pretty quickly. Anyone else have the same problem?

Sanding overhead is taxing to say the least.
I've never had the heating up issue. Hope all turns out well for you.

Festool and mirka make a padded pad saver, it will fit on the wen, makes a world of difference, about $15.00us.

I use a 220 grit with the power sander and a 150-180 when using the pole sander.

Why in the world did you fast forward the video when running the tool ??? I wanted to see how much dust it sucks in ?????? I guess I’ll try another video. You done all that talking but then fast forward the machine part you can tell dropouts who gets in construction.
