So good. I LOVE character design videos. I particularly liked how you showed the value assessment and adjustment stage. I hear it mentioned often, but you explained and showed it in a way that helped me understand it better in practice.
Your art is so cool and your videos are so interesting and well-made, I can't believe you started youtube 2 month ago. I'm still trying to find inspiration and your videos definitely helps me. Thx 💙
SO HELPFUL! I have been cartooning my entire life, but have not had any formal education in that area, and only recently started taking it seriously. I kind of knew a little bit about some of these tips, but it was kind of wispy accumulated knowledge over 21 years of life, so it was perfect to have these tips all lined up together in one single video, alongside others that I hadn’t considered before! I have subscribed, and will also follow up on your recommendation for the other channel you mentioned, starting with the video you suggested. I do have some questions, not sure if you will see this cuz I’m a year late, but will ask anyways in case any artist does see this and feels inclined to respond: How do you balance elements of character design - such as exaggerating and using different shape languages - with keeping your characters so they all look like they come from the same universe? Especially as an artist who works with more than one art style of a regular basis? What elements should you keep the same or similar across all characters to help them all look cohesively in the same art style? I feel like sometimes I will try to make a new character with different features and when I finish, they don’t look quite like they fit in the world I’ve bit or with the other characters’ art style. I haven’t been able to decide why sometimes this happens and sometimes it doesn’t. My other question is about how to check things like silhouette, how the character looks when it is flipped, and value with the naked eye. I am not a new artist, but typically only work with traditional art, and do not currently have means to deal with the expense of switching to digital art any time soon. I know this may just come with practice and knowledge, but would love some tips if you happen to have any. I enjoyed this video! Thank you so much for all you do, I am excited to watch another one now that I am subscribed 😊
Very good video keep them coming. would love to know how to do the portions of the character in different perspective like if an arm is way more out in front or a leg is with respect to the one in the back and how there size is different. I always have trouble with that unless I just use same pose as reference.
Thank you so much! I know what you feel. I honestly struggle to do that from time to time. Will keep this in mind and will create a video about it someday next year 😅
Saw Bam animation's video a while ago, you applied that pretty good 👍 would appreciate it if you could advise me with some line art tips since I'm used to short strokes 😊 Finally, you are doing great wish you the best of luck
Yeah, I am waiting for their next video about coloring backgrounds! they make good art content. Well, what I've learned so far about line art is that it should be thicker as an outline but for details, it should be thinner. Will include this on my next video about backgrounds 😉..
Great vid! I’d love a tutorial on how to simplify backgrounds for portraits and how you go about painting them. Cityscapes/landscapes/etc. I liked your background in previous tutorials but would love a more detailed tutorial :)
@@KBCalvelo can't wait homie! This one was another BANGER too tbh, I watched Bam animations version too but. Wow. I'd also love to hear more about your OCs and their stories! :D
Want to make a video about that but in summary, I don't like the fact that talented artists' years of hard work are being used in prompts but we have to adapt to it because I believe that AI will stay because the advancement of technology is inevitable. Hoping that developers and the art community can agree to have some kind of rule of having artists' permission first to use their names to get some royalties from it.
I would like to make the note that your Instagram is no longer linked correctly on UA-cam. Maybe you changed your Instagram name and forgot to fix it on UA-cam. Otherwise good video. 😉

I am truly glad it was somehow helpful 🥰 Hoping to improve the content of this topic someday but right now, this will do 😅😉..
Bestiiiie... I'm not over how insightful your videos are. I'm tired of you not being more famous!
Thank you, Bestiee for the support as always 🥰😍
