Wasn't Michael Oliver the referee for the Man City Liverpool game where Doku kicked Mac Alister in the chest and Michael Oliver gave nothing...but for a tap on a foot (red card) it should be overturned....VAR used to fix those things during the game. I told people this VAR obvious error nonsense is so the referees can fix the games to get results they want. These refs and their friends families need to be investigated for betting.

The PGMOL needs a CEO who was NEVER part of the referee fraternity. A professional who has the organisation as their priority. At the moment it is just an "old boys club" that looks after each other instead of the institution. It is the last vestige of the older days of football. Referee services need to be made as corporate and professional as the clubs and the league.

Although I agree with arsenal fans that this shouldn't have been a red card considering current rules/norms. I don’t think it’s a red but I don’t think it’s as clear of an error as being made out either. Normally these tactical fouls are yellows because a player is breaking and the defending player trips them. This one is quite high with studs leading, with the attacking playing running at high speed. A more significant contact with the same tackle could be a serious injury.
Liverpool will only slip if they pick up injuries with the massive fixture list. They play every 2/3 days bc of the game in hand and being in all comps. I will say that they have been absolutely amazing considering they bought in one player who has been out most of the time.

A definite red card however because the player behaved in a childish manner and refused to leave the pitch in an orderly fashion he will rightly face an additional game ban. If arsenal undertake yet another frivolous appeal then this will be extended further to an overall total of a 5 game ban.

The problem with Micheal Oliver is that he’s so arrogant and confident of his officiating skills his first thought was his decision, it’s happened time and time again against multiple teams and that’s coming from an Arsenal fan, I don’t by into the rhetoric that the officials are purposely bias against Arsenal, Micheal Oliver is just a terrible referee and the VAR team are spineless for not overturning that decision, Any Football fan across the world will tell you that’s a yellow card and not a red but the premier League’s “Best” Referee is instantly convinced it’s a straight red.

Normally these tactical fouls are yellows because a player is breaking and the defending player trips them.
This one is quite high with studs leading, with the attacking playing running at high speed. A more significant contact with the same tackle could be a serious injury.

Liverpool will only slip if they pick up injuries with the massive fixture list. They play every 2/3 days bc of the game in hand and being in all comps. I will say that they have been absolutely amazing considering they bought in one player who has been out most of the time.

The problem is not the referee. The problem is VAR. Unfortunately VAR is another referee. VAR should not be referees that ref the game. That way they have the balls to challenge on field decisions. Right now it is simply a gang of refs trying not to show off their pals, Garbage in Garbage out. VAR should be professionals that are not refs simply calling out possible errors by the ref. True, but Oliver was SO QUICK to pull out the red. Didn’t even think. He clearly has issues with Arsenal, he keeps giving freak decisions against Arsenal. He sent off Martinelli for two yellows in one play in this stadium a few seasons back. Also sent off Trossard earlier this season. Didn’t sent off kovacic for a straight red then also a second yellow challenge against Arsenal etc
