With most new led dimmable fixtures that we in stall it requires 0-10 dimmable wires. They do sell Mc cable with 0-10 dimmable wires in the Mc cable. It works great. The lights look fabulous
0-10v dimming is pretty common for higher end LEDs. You get much smoother and consistent dimming because the low voltage driver can operate off a consistent voltage. It’s actually the same tech as 4 wire fluorescents.
I love those new light. Hell I love how the old ones are thin too. I remember having to deal with those heavy thick incandescent tube fixtures that probably weighed 20 pounds
In stead of dropping the low voltage wires to the box… Another way to dim is using the Lutron RMJ power pack. You put the power pack in the ceiling and you dim wirelessly with the pico remote.
The easiest way to solve this without having to mess with running new low voltage wires to the switch box is to get a powerpack, bypass the switch sending constant power to the powerpack, run low voltage 18/2 from the power pack to every fixture, then install a wireless dimmer (Pico) replacing your switch. The power pack is called: Lutron Powerpak The dimmer is called: Lutron Caseta smart switch (the switch has a replaceable round flat battery that lasts more than 3 years before needing a battery replacement.
My trade job its UPS Driver But been following lexi for a bit and trying to learn basics and everything i can, its fun and interesting to do this type of work as long as you do it with safety. This is how you work with your team. Dont have to be a dick or be mean just do your thing and have fun doing it! They will follow. Lexi its a true leader, She's going places and she inspire me to do electrical work. Best part is We are PuertoRican blood and pride i guess it comes in the territory all the kindness and respect we show to people no matter what. God bless you always Lexi. Also We clean after ourselves, after we do our work. If i don't i see my madre que me pario darme la pela de el siglo Con la chancleta jajaja xD
Dude look into using a Vive pow pak dimming relay and some pico dimmers! No wiring needed between the switches of The 3 way! Just lovo 0-10 between the lights. We use them all the time for these types of situations!
Yes. Well, there would have been. Lexi forgot to start recording again, for the whole thing. My jackassing around aside, I also want to see the 2nd part/finale. What a cliffhanger!
Hi… this is an enquiry from far overseas… If i want to learn electrical fundamentals.. can you recommend a program, app, or online course, etc.? Thank you for taking the time to respond. From DUBAI with ❤
another reason women should be in trades is women are master shoppers. when she made that "home depot, but i feel like marshalls should have it" comment, i felt completely dominated because i am a dumb man that would spend top dollar on something at the first place i find it.
Strange. What i've seen here in Finland has been 1-10V for lighting and 0-10V is a plc thing for sensors and analog control for vfd:s etc (but it's just a voltage after all, so some of the stuff could be mixed together). For lights theres basically no more new installs with 1-10V dimming, everything with hard wired controls would be dali now. Does your 0-10V lighting go full of with just the low voltage controls or is it necessary to cut the mains power? We have to cut mains to fully shut down. Dali is way easier to do, as theres always live voltage on the light fixtures and just the control bus tells the lights what to do, including total shut down. Also something like 95% of dali stuff does switchdim too, so adding just a basic push button to the light group would let you dim+toggle.
@@lextheelectrician past 22 years in ibew most drop ins etc are usually 0-10v for the dimmable side i've been all over the country it's the same in most places. The only time's i've seen it not used is rgb controlled lights that have addresses for a controller. Where each light has it's own address to the controller to change the color of the light from red to blue etc. Good job on the install.
Surprised that these are such a high wattage, too bad they also don't have EM battery back-up capabilities. I could see these having a lot of potential! I like the idea of an engraved logo in the middle too. Lots of potential here. Do you have to deal with the IECC at all in your area?
Your video are making it even harder to choose if I want to choose construction building or electrical work next year at RC3 (y’all will probably not know what this is but, just know that construction building and electrical work are two of the many option they offer) when I’ll be finally allowed to go in 10th grade 🥲❤
Do Electrical, it's more specialized and more sustainable as you grow older and your body starts slowing down, in Electrical you can always go from Electrical new construction to Service and troubleshooting, so many options!
Good to see the banter between you two. Steven needs a dose of what he dishes out.
I'm glad to see Bri as your new apprentice. We need more people in the trade. 🙌 also, Peso Pluma is a good artist, too 😂
This is the first time i have seen a electrian sweep good job

I install a lot of LED dimmable lights and have only run into this one other time! So weird to me haha

Yeah, this is what we use here in PA in most commercial buildings, the MC cable with the 2 low V conductors is called "MC luminary cable".
Yeah everything now is 0-10
Great video Lexi , you’re funny as hell. Always nice to have friends that are pro’s in a trade!👍
For artistic applications like this, higher CRI is worth the money so the ink looks the same as it will in sunlight.
90 cri or higher
The best kind of job is one where you can have fun while earning your keep.
Thanks for sharing these light fixtures. Getting some for my place.
I love those new light. Hell I love how the old ones are thin too. I remember having to deal with those heavy thick incandescent tube fixtures that probably weighed 20 pounds
Yeah the lights keep getting thinner and thinner in commercial it's amazing
Believe it or not my last 5 😂😂job in a row have had 0 to 10 volt dimming. Two restaurants, a bank and two offices. I’m seeing it more often than ever.

Wow looks incredible!
I love they way You working
I love electrical since I was born and I always drawing of electrical mean light switches and outlets and light fixtures!🥰
Almost any time we had over 4 luminares to change out would use a scaffolding on wheels to speed job up.
I love you & r works ❤😊✌

Lower the mic volume during editing please
Just use a Lutron pico and a RMJ-5T-DV-B dimmer
What else are you good at😄

I think it depends on where you get your material from and where you’re from because here I’ve only dealt with this in one other application
