Brilliant guys. Can't wait to get mine into action - if only this wind would abate! About those 'hard to stay on hook" baits - lightly salt them, then get some biodegradable bait cotton. Cut the baits into thumb sized cubes suitable for your hook size. Doesn't matter what the bait is, the cotton will keep it all bound on the hook. Vacuum pack and preferably keep in fridge. Learnt this from a Mike's Salted Baits demo. (facebook.com/mikessaltedbait/) Worked for me.
We get four six hook casts 500 metres offshore per battery. If you have two rods you will get two casts per rod as they are cast separately. Spare batteries are around $170.00 each. If you are only setting two hooks you may get another set per battery. Condor fishing drones will be available in Australia soon. The new model has a 1000 meter range and other improved safety features.
It has the Newton 3 release mechanism, works on tension. Once the line is put under tension, i.e. grab the line, flick the bail arm over, or put the reel in gear, the line releases from the drone. It is a safer mechanism, as any tangles on the way out will give you an early release, rather than catapulting the drone into the water.

The Condor doesn't come with a camera, it is a dedicated fishing drone.
