    I take lyrica and and opiod medication for sciatica. Main side effect for me is blurry vison , dizziness, memory is impaired ,dry mouth with dry lips and constipation. I have also had a hard time mentally only due to the nature of my pain and how it causes me to not fucntion physically 100%. Wirhout this medictaion id be in quite alot of pain. Lucky for me i only take this when and only when i really need it so i dont become reliant on it. What ever your pain make sure to get professional advice, move as often as you can safely and dont sit or lay down longer than you should. This is keeping me from my joints becoming stiff.

      Addicted to what? Lyrica and/or Gabapentin? Opioids? I have been on 2 type of opioids for over 25 years. Never became addicted. This is true of many pain patients.
      If the opioid epidemic was the problem the DEA bitches about, they would be promoting the eradication of the ingredients and full stoppage of the manufacturing of opioids.
      Supply is being manipulated, demand stays the same/increases, price increases rather legal or not. Who benefits? There is the answer.

    I started taking it 60 days ago and noticed pain relief a week later. I've had chronic back pain on and off for 23 years. Lately it was so bad that I could barely move. My back was spasming all the time but this calmed it down quickly. I feel so good. I have noticed I am tired and could sleep all day. It's difficult to wake up. I was taking50 mg of Trazadone to help my body relax so that I could get into a deep sleep. I broke the pill in half and take that now so I can wake up easier. That has helped a lot. I am so grateful to have a better outlook on life.

      150mg of Tramadol? That's an odd dosage. 150 mg of Lyrica? Another odd dosage.
      As I have said, I took 400 mg of Tramadol (for 17 years; Hydrocodone for another set of years) Never developed addiction. Helped the pain of the FM a lot. But now I have other neuropathies (mostly from diabetes). 200mg of Tramadol helps a little.
      What?!! 200 mg of Tramadol is all I can get. Oops!! I'm sorry. I was offered Gabapentin. No thank you. Weight gain (and I am diabetic!!??), will become addicted (and this is the reason I cannot get Tramadol or hydrocodone?!!).

    I started taking lyrica 21/2 months ago. Today, after a meltdown yesterday, a Doctor I'd never seen before said stop taking it immediately. After taking it for about 3 weeks, increasing dosage by 75mg each week, I became stupid, confused, dizzy. In fact, about 2 weeks ago, I was going to do something when the symptoms hit me. I knew I was going to do fairly important in my yard, but then the disorientation and confusion hit. I turned around in a circle about 3 times, couldn't remember what my goal was, so I went back inside. I'm still not sure what my mission was that day. Lyrica side effects aren't all benign.

      The 'high'? Like one would get with alcohol, marijuana, or an opioid? Interesting.
      Pregabalin is addictive. So, go-o-o-o-l-l-y, instead of the OLD fashion way fo becoming an addicted, the medical profession is giving a spanking NEW way!!!
      LYRIC/PREGABALIN OR WE CAN SELECT NEUTONTIN/GABAPENTIN NOW.
      There are multiple reports of people unable to get off Pregabalin or Gabapentin. That is they have become addicted. Just as worse, imo, the weight gain. Please read the side effects.
      Can anyone guess what the bottom line is here? Or cite the logical results?

      Don't worry about coming off the medications. It is a matter of couple weeks for the body to flush out the medication before you become your natural self again. However, if you are about to come off and afraid of the side effects, ask for Valium to be prescribed. It is the best that can be used when coming off a medication since 2.5mg each time you feel uncomfortable is sufficient to make you calm and the anxiety less of a burden. I have my own life experience with both medications, and although I am not a Doctor. I am best than a Doctor for having used both prescribed Pregabalin and Valium. My GP is more concerned about the Valium than Pregabalin for a reason. With Valium, it is highly addictive than Pregabalin. With Pregabalin is a mind set. Once settled with it one never feels anxious ever again. As an example, I store Valium separately on the top of the fridge not to be reminded and have it there when I am need to calm down. For it to be stored apart from the main Pharmacy at home, ever since I have been on Pregabalin there is not a single day when Valium or Diazepam come to mind. That is how effective Pregabalin is with healing severe anxiety. The three main concerns about Pregabalin that I can live with in spite of the inconveniences and would not change it for anything in the world. Pregabalin is psychologically dependent, impairs cognitive abilities such as memory recalling and weight gain.

    • @TrevorEMPF
      @TrevorEMPF 2 роки тому

      @@PattyDalmau I am aware of that! But hears this first! I was traumatised as a child and without going into detailing the horror that was experienced during that period. The severe anxiety for years was the source of hallucinations and paranoia because I am also Bipolar. Terrible combination of disorders. Ever since I have been prescribed with Pregabalin there has not been a single second when I felt anxious. Consequently, yes Pregabalin impairs one's cognitive abilities such as memory recalling. It is also psychologically dependent. It is my area of my concern and stress for fearing that I ran out. However, to be frank although it should be prescribed for the control of severe anxiety especially for those experiencing panic attacks, it shouldn't be so easily prescribed when the severe anxiety is a long-term conditions for which Valium & Diazepam isn't recommended for it to be highly addictive.

      I am discussed with DRs prescribing medications that will make already diagnosed medical problems worse. The goal is to get me completely of Tramadol, an opioid. Why? I have never in 17 years demonstrated an addiction. No. They want the numbers reported to DEA down. This isn't medical care. Patients aren't the priority, pleasing a run-away government agency (there are other reasons as well) is.

It takes work but healing is so much better than being stuck on meds for life. It can be easily aggravated after it's healed but I've found the recurring bouts to be milder and go away with way less work. That's just my experience. I am extremely fit, muscular, pescatarian diet, elite powerlifter so it's highly likely that my lifestyle plays a role in how my body heals. I use a lot of herbs and supplements but sometimes I do have to hit the pharma drugs temporarily as I heal. I could see why this med wouldn't work for severe sciatica pain. I had to use hydrocodone. I need to increase dose after a week to 50mg and a week after ti 75mg... and to see if I can stay with this dose.

    I’m on 50mg twice a day I stick to that rigidly, the only side effect I get is dry mouth, it is very good for pain in both shoulders, it took nearly a month before it started to fully have a good effect. Anyone who has put on weight needs to stop eating more, I’m also on a healthy eating plan and have lost weight while on these. For me they are great.

      It is not like Valium! It is a medication that one needs to be prescribed for the long-term to realise the potential it has to treat the severe anxiety for example. it can take several months for reaching its peak. However, if one is in crisis Pregabalin isn't for that as Valium is more recommended for quickly calming. Having used heavily both Pregabalin and Valium, Pregabalin if subscribed it is amazing and I have been on it for now since May 2021 and never had to feel anxious a single second. Whereas with Valium I always feel the urge to top up. With me when I used have severe anxiety and for being Bipolar the anxiety was the cause of paranoia and hallucinations. I spent years living detached from what was real. Until I was prescribed with Pregabalin. Although, it impairs cognitive abilities, such as remembering, I won't change it for the world! Valium is highly unrecommended for the long-term of management of the anxiety. One says that heroine is a dirty drug, for comparison I can easily state the same for Valium although it is great for occasional crisis.

    Does it heal nerve damage?

    • @someoneusa
      @someoneusa 2 роки тому +3

      It doesn't heal anything. It can cover up nerve damage. If you get off the meds the nerve pain comes back just like with any other meds. Meds don't heal the body, they cover things up, like bandaids. Most of the time you get side effects, some which can be dangerous. Healing takes work and patience, certainly won't happen with pharma drugs. If healing is actually your goal, they can be used temporarily while you put in the work (diet,therapy, exercise, etc_. If you have nerve damage that won't heal then you'll be stuck with the pain or the meds. It's all about weighing your options. Nerve damage can take a long time to heal and a lot of effort goes into it. Depends on the damage. I have skin nerve damage from permethrin that I used when nothing natural would kill the scabies. it took so much that I ruined my skin and now I have to take extra care of my skin throughout the day and still can't sleep at night. I tried all natural things first but the burning sensation won't go away no matter what I do. I just have to keep putting in the work and wait for the skin to heal. I bit the bullet so I could sleep and use 50mg of Lyrica at night and deal with the burning during the day. That small dose keeps me exhausted during the day and give me constipation. I can't imagine using it for life or a bigger dose. Good luck.

      Lucky you don’t wake up with a jolt with an excruciating groin cramp🤯
      I endured four knee replacements. 3 L knee replacements (with ‘revision’ which means botched up), I had to have blood transfusion plus take several drugs for over two years. Whether it was the straw that broke the camel’s back or not; i went from living in hell from the pain to living in hell on rollerblades😤
