It’s weird because the G1000 NXI I used recently had a menu pop up after selecting a frequency with a list of where to put the frequency: comm 1, active, comm 1 standby, comm 2 active, and comm 2 standby. Not sure why it doesn’t show in the sim
@@Valentin_MeL I would say you could actually get more information in the 787 but the G1000 does it in such a small form factor. I know of some planes that can do w/b calculations and takeoff performance directly from the G1000
@@codingperks I flown just a bit 787 in msfs 2020. And i didn't saw such a detailed weather map with sigmets, airmets, satelites scans with current location of bad weather, and litttle points that represents tipe of weather at the airport. Also nearest airport are so simple to find in garmin. So i think garmin actually give a bit more. Of course that was on old version of msfs, so i might have missed something.
I had no idea you could dial the radios directly from the MFD! I’ve been referencing the MFD and manually entering the freq into the comma. This is truly mind blowing stuff.
I liked the attention to detail in using the proper Garmin names for most controls - I had no idea "groups" was the official name for the various page categories. However, I will recommend referring to the FMS inner and outer knobs as the big vs small knob. In my experience, Garmin's name choice there is vital to prevent confusion.
If SBAS is available, it is not necessary to do RAIM predictions. The capability is still there in case of an SBAS failure. It's probably good practice to do a RAIM prediction, just in case. Depending on your risk tolerance, you may want to forego a trip, or plan to use ground based navigational aids, if RAIM is predicted to not be available, even if you are SBAS equipped.
also, i don't seem to be able to choose inset at all? I've tried a few different aircraft is it just aircraft specific? I can't seem to find any answers to this question lol
Brilliant hardware/software combo. But still overkill in 99% of the VFR time. It is useful if you spend 20min on runup to program it, but then why? It kill the joy of flying to some extent. IFR is indispensable though.
Hate videos like these, half the options he goes over are grayed out. At first I thought "wow! how did I miss all that" until I realized I didnt. The stock G1000 half that stuff doesnt work.
I have almost 50 hours in G1000 airplanes and still learned multiple things in the first three minutes. Great video, thank you 🙏🏻
I have about 100 and I'm in the same boat.
This video was very helpful! Thank you for taking everything a little slower to let some of us new users to absorb the details.
Being able to input frequencies that way is amazing. Going to have to try this on my flight tomorrow.

Amazing! I didn't know the G1000 got so advanced, it's just like the Boeing 787 display system
i think you actually getting more information using garmin 1000nxi than sitting in a b787.

It’s better.
You are simply the best man, thanks for what you do sharing this knowledge that has helped me tremendously, definitely checking your courses out

Excellent presentation. Thanks. There's a lot to study!
Thank you for this Video. I knew the MFD has a lot of options. I learned a lot more from your explanation.
Thank you for another great video!
Awesome sauce! Great info, great presentation!
Fantastic tutorial
Beautiful
Great stuff once again!!!
This was fantastic!
is this all filmed on the in game MSFS2020 g1000? seems to have so many more options available compared to the one i use in the C172
This is great! Are you using the Garmin Desktop Trainer, XPlane 12 or MSFS for this demo?
Awesome video you made
But when I'll try the inset soft button is grayed out. Anyone knows why?🙏🙏

You mentioned XTRK in your video. Is this a feature that has to be turned on/off? If so, how?
do you have to do raim prediction if sbas is available? sbas ensures integrity, no?

PFD video please?
