True story: Since our family trip got canceled thanks to Covid back in 2020, we decided to go in July of 2022. Because of the alternative license plate entrance rule we were able to visit Yellowstone with only a fraction of the usual amount of people. The weather was perfect! We've also had pretty good luck with moose outside of West Yellowstone near the Baker's Hole Campground. Also, we've spotted moose multiple times in the Northeast Entrance area near Soda Butte Creek. We've seen grizzlies all over the Park. The mountains close to the NE Entrance are known to have mountain goats walking on ledges. A pair of binoculars are needed to spot them. Also, to me the best time to see wildlife, especially bears, is May. A ranger told us that May is the best time to see grizzlies. As summer approaches, they move up to higher elevations to search for food, making them harder to find close to the road.

Reliving our trip last year through this video! We had an amazing time and your videos were so helpful for our planning! We only spent one day in Yellowstone, because we’re “hiking” type of vacationers so we spent more time in the Tetons, but Yellowstone is a must for anyone. So beautiful!! We were lucky enough to see a grizzly bear (and bison running from it) in Hayden Valley. Amazing trip. Love all your tips! We’ll have to go back another time and visit the northern loop!
We've been there many times, but you guys showed me many places that I've never seen. Thank you for all the information and your hard work to put it all together ❤️.
Believe it or not by me traveling Solo I really don't need an expensive hotel and I eat like a bird. My big deal is seeing whatever I can n enjoying life, because my job is so hectic. I see death daily,so I made a vow to enjoy and see the world even if I do it alone
Great video! I spend my summers in Cooke City and we often have visitors fly into Billings or Cody, too. Also, Cooke is a great place to see moose. We get them in the yard and see them from the road quite often. Thanks for the great Yellowstone content!
We stayed in Cody in 2014 on our 5 week road trip to Yellowstone from Florida. In Cody the best B & B to stay at was Robin’s Nest. Owners, Robin and Bob were amazing & friendly and took the time to show us around the town. We loved our week in Yellowstone and the Grand Tetons for a few days
I've been to Yellowstone two years in a row. Both times were late May . The late season snow hampered me a little bit both times. I do love seeing the park covered in snow. I'm going in late June is year and it's specifically for fly fishing this year.
Dear Rockies, Thank You! For your illustrated videos, information and step by step guidance on national parks. We had our first Yellowstone visit recently and your videos became alive when we reached there and helped us exhaustively. I thoroughly enjoy your detailed explanation and presentation style. Keep it up!!
Thank you for posting this, I was hoping you were posting an updated planning video. We're in the middle of planning our honeymoon to Yellowstone and the Grand Tetons and your videos have been extremely helpful.
Food. Camping, we had an RV. Pre prepped dinners for cooking at campsites, usually over campfire or outside grill. Hamburger patties made, seasoned, and frozen. Steaks, seasoned and frozen. Chicken, seasoned and frozen. Etc. Easy on site, prep, cook, and clean up. Meals out and about. Sandwich material in cooler, bread, meat, cheese. Again, easy in car prep, and cleanup. Hiking, took wrapped/baggy snacks (which, for reasons, is a critical medical necessity anyway). Not camping (which for reasons we are now using hotels, not inside park - wish, maybe if we win a small lottery). See sandwiches above, both in the park and in our hotel if we are late enough. Lesson learned. The only late location open in W. Yellowstone, was the pizza place. Good pizza, not something wanted every night. We got caught in multiple bison jams on NW through Norris and Madison junctions to W. Yellowstone. We usually eat one meal out every other day. Note, these days just the two of us, empty nest. Even when traveling with child, we only have the one. Different when you have more children or a larger group.
We are going to Yellowstone (from the UK) at end of April and I'm so glad I watched this video. For some reason I didn't think there could be even a chance of snow in May, how wrong was I! Thank you for this informative video and wish us luck :)
We are also want to visit Yellowstone in April from UK. I have never driving on the right of the road and thinking of getting professional guide from Salt Lake City. If you have any information can be shared would be very helpful. Thanks and regards.

Thanks for the video. We are no "plan ahead" type people. We just booked 4 different lodges for our trip to Yellowstone in summer '24! I was so grateful to see there were still openings!
Oh, and as for Xanterra, we had booked a 1 week Yellowstone tour with them, meals & lodging & bus excursions included. They did a fantastic job. Our meals varied but a different place every night and could eat anything on the menus

Great video of the current events at Yellowstone Park. I was there in 2016 and it was amazing. I'm going back and wanted to see what has changed and up to date. Your video was so helpful. The part that caught my attention was the comment about the food at Yellowstone. My ex wife and I ordered a burger and I can't believe how bad the burger was. I thought...geez, how can you ruin a burger. Somehow they managed that perfectly.
Moose...I was in the park 10 minutes (west entrance) and saw a group of four! Thanks for the video...hoping to take my husband to Yellowstone this summer. 🙂
You are sooooo lucky! I am literally dying to see one. They are my favorite animal in the whole world. Matt & Cheryl are so lucky. 30 times!!! I have views of cows here. They are cute, but no moose!
Oh you give me so much hope. I've never seen a moose. My sister and I are going to Yellowstone, hopefully next week, we travel a lot. We had our trip planned last year, but when we were ready to leave Ohio that awful flood stopped us. We went to Maine instead. It was gorgeous up there on the ocean. I'll definitely be going back. I live right outside of Shawnee state forest, so I'm used to beautiful nature, and always craving more. I don't like to do touristy, expensive crap. I want to enjoy what our creators gave us.

How'd you know I'd be heading back this spring? Last fall the Roosevelt Corral, Gardiner Gate, and Lamar Valley were all closed. Not now. And I've booked the twilight tour. Looking forward to it, guys.
I was packing my bags last year when I put on RVmiles and he said, before I start I just want to inform you that Yellowstone is closed due to floods. I thought it was an old video so I went back to see when the video was posted and it said 3hrs ago. Well the good thing is I didn't drive there and then find out.
Hey Matt and Cheryl! I bought your itineraries for YS & Glacier. I've been watching lots of your videos as well. 😊 We are driving from WI this summer and planning to hit YS for 3 days, Teton for 1 day, then driving up to Glacier for 2 days. We'll be entering YS from Silver Gate (Grizzly Lodge) because I really want to drive the Beartooth Hwy. We'll have our 6 kids with us (ages 11 down to 2). After entering from Silver Gate, we plan to spend a couple of hours in Lamar (the kids won't take a lot of sitting and waiting, so we won't be spending hours watching wildlife, but hoping to see some!), then heading to Tower Falls. We're combining American Serengeti and Welcome to Wonderland in one day and I'm not sure if it would be better to continue south from Tower Falls on to Mt. Washburn and then to Norris, or go west from Tower Falls over to Mammoth, and then Norris. I'm guessing that either way we go, we'll probably hit Mammoth or Norris at mid-morning when it's busy! We're staying at Bridge Bay campground. My other thought was maybe hitting Norris in the evening when it's (hopefully) a little less busy. Thanks so much for all your informative videos and itineraries!
If you're just trying to get to the Norris area without stopping, I'd go south from Tower Falls and then west over to Norris. Have a great time! You are going to love it!
Our backpack group took a multi week hike from Tetons to Yellowstone. We saw sights-only a very few ever see. Was also a firefighter during the big fire.
@@WereintheRockies Us too! We only got one night there and then went to Jackson earlier than planned. I’m not sure if it happens all the time, but we got a notice of 25% off at Thanksgiving for Xanterra properties. So we decided to try again. Fingers crossed for no natural disasters.
As I’ve watched all your guides, not much was new for me, but I still loved the categories and road updates. I hope Cheryl is wrong about this being the busiest year yet. 😬

Great video! How are you all planning on handling the National Park Service’s ban on all commercial photography and video? I am curious because occasionally on our main channel as well as our sister channel we find ourselves wanting to film in a national park.
You guys are literally the best! Thank you for putting all of this together. Quick question for you - when traveling from Grand Teton to Yellowstone, is there a particular path that is both scenic but NOT white-knuckle? LOL
You can go one of two ways, either will be beautiful. You can use Hwy 191, or you can Teton Park Road. If you're heading back to Grand Teton on a return trip, drive each one. Teton Park Road will get you closer to the mountains and lakes.
I’ve watched a few of your videos on Yellowstone. You have not mentioned Chief Joseph’s Scenic Byway. Just drove out the east entrance into Cody and drove the Chief Joseph’s Scenic Byway back into the north east entrance of Yellowstone. You had it highlighted on the map from Cody but you said you drove into Yellowstone on the Beartooth Highway.
Great info looking to do a snowmobile tour in the winter and this would be the first ever trip to yellowstone any tips on driving thru from Montana to west yellowstone in winter would much appreciate.
Y'all are amazing. Thank you for your love and care for the parks and for sharing all the info with us. I do have a question. We are coming from New Orleans heading to Mount Olympus for a wedding so we are making it a huge, once in a lifetime trip. We want to come to Yellowstone but we want to see the Tetons too. Since we are coming from south east and going to north west, which entrance and exit would you suggest in order to see the most? We are not in a rush but we also only want to drive no more than 5 or 6 hours a day. (Except for sightseeing along the way.) We want to go to Pikes Peak too. I'm overwhelmed trying to plan all of this. I don't want to miss anything since this will probably be our last big trip. Your suggestions would be very appreciated.
I suggest entering through the South Entrance and exiting through the North Entrance. In our opinion, most of the top ten things to see in the park are on the south and west side of the two loops (minus the Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone but you can take a detour to go over to it if you wish). Here is a video we made about the Top Ten Sites in Yellowstone: ua-cam.com/video/6RfIIU9QgTw/v-deo.html
@@WereintheRockies thank you. I have watch that one and quite a few others of your. You both do a great job. What about Dubois? If we stay there can't we get to Yellowstone from there?

We were going to spend 3 nights at Grizzly Lodge last summer on your recommendation. We were really looking forward to this. When we got there in September after the flood from spring. They had to repair from the washout and that was done. We were NOT impressed with this place. We had a cabin on the creek. We cancelled our reservation and went back to Cody. They were very pleasant with us and didn’t charge a cancellation fee. It may have been because of the flood. I don’t know.
Great video with lots of good information, glad i found your video for planning yellowstone. I will be there this year september wit a friend for the last few days of our roadtrip. I am realy excited to go here! I have a small question, are there some kind of guided tours we can use? We will be there with a camper and do not have a normal car.
Hi Jan, there are many guided tours out there, but of course they are quite expensive. I haven’t used any so I can’t recommend any. But I designed my travel guide like a tour - I’ll tell you where to go each day and my audio guide tells you about the park. It’s a huge money saver from buying a tour.
I’m not trying to convince you either way. I enjoy tours, But tours are expensive. So you would save a lot of money with a rental car and my guide. It tells you where to go and in what order. And my audio guide provides three hours of stories about the park, like a tour guide does. So I’m just giving you the info. You’ll have to make the best choice for you.
@@WereintheRockies thank you for the extra information, keep up the good work. Makes life easier for people like me planning a trip and are going there for the first time.

That's a good question but I'm not sure I have completely accurate information. I don't "think" the bike trails are all that busy. For more info, see the NPS site: www.nps.gov/yell/planyourvisit/bicycling.htm
Holaaaa, we are from Spain and we love your videos . We are thinking to visit Yellowstone park in 2024 when the proper time to visit the park May, June, September?? Thanks for the videos very helpful ❤
Is there a trick to getting the vibrant colors around Grand Prismatic spring from the overlook? I've seen some amazing, vibrant color photos and some with very dull, bland, boring colors around the spring. Thanks
Hi, love your channel. It is very informative. I like to ask if the camping sits have electricity outlet for electric vehicles. I plan to drive my Tesla model Y, do you think it is easy to find charging stations?
Hi, thank you guys for such good information. We just booked our route trip to Yellowstone 2023! Staying in north side for 3 days and at old Faithful hotel for 4days. (I made sure I selected a room w/ a bathroom 😂) Any other information would be great! Like for example do the gas station at park are cash only?
Might be a silly question, but is there a way to access the Beartooth Highway from the north entrance? Going to Yellowstone in a few weeks (staying in Gardiner) and would love to drive some of that highway if the weather is decent!
The closest entrance to the Beartooth Highway is the Northeast Entrance. However, if you're staying in Cody, WY then you'd be about 1h30 min from the Beartooth Highway (if you don't enter Yellowstone).
The dates vary year to year. Here is the NPS website with info on this subject: www.nps.gov/yell/planyourvisit/bicycling.htm#:~:text=%20Yellowstone%20permits%20bicycling%2C%20including%20the%20use%20of,subject%20to%20the%20same%20traffic%20rules%20as%20automobiles.
I like this video but. Why would I land in Bozeman which is an hour and a half away and then go to JAC to the park which is farther away? I'm sure I am missing something 😊
Great informative video! We are planing a Sept 2024 trip. We have a 27' 5" motorhome and don't tow a vehicle. Would we be able to tour around with our MH or would we need to rent a car?
Canyon is the best area to stay in if you don't want to move locations. It is the most central location for Yellowstone. It is also not unreasonably far from the Tetons.
The Bear Tooth Highway generally opens the Friday of Memorial Weekend but that is subject to change based on weather. See here for more information: www.mdt.mt.gov/travinfo/beartooth/
No reservations to enter the park - many other parks require a reservation or ticket to enter. Not Yellowstone. But you still need reservations for lodging, etc.

We've been there many times, but you guys showed me many places that I've never seen. Thank you for all the information and your hard work to put it all together ❤️.
You're welcome 😊
You two are as AWESOME as what you describe. You're great personalities and great teachers!!!! Thank you!
That's so nice of you! You're welcome and thanks for watching.
Billings is a little over 2 hour drive to the north entrance so it's a good place to fly into.
Thanks!
Thanks so much!
Believe it or not by me traveling Solo I really don't need an expensive hotel and I eat like a bird. My big deal is seeing whatever I can n enjoying life, because my job is so hectic. I see death daily,so I made a vow to enjoy and see the world even if I do it alone
Great choice and good for you to get out and see the world.
Great video! I spend my summers in Cooke City and we often have visitors fly into Billings or Cody, too. Also, Cooke is a great place to see moose. We get them in the yard and see them from the road quite often. Thanks for the great Yellowstone content!
Thanks for sharing.
We just stayed in Cooke City, it's a great place to access the Lamar Valley and The Bison 🦬🦬🦬🦬🦬🦬
Glad you had a great time.
I've been to Yellowstone two years in a row. Both times were late May . The late season snow hampered me a little bit both times. I do love seeing the park covered in snow. I'm going in late June is year and it's specifically for fly fishing this year.
Have fun!
Was it raining? Would u recommend to visit at the end of May?
Dear Rockies, Thank You! For your illustrated videos, information and step by step guidance on national parks. We had our first Yellowstone visit recently and your videos became alive when we reached there and helped us exhaustively. I thoroughly enjoy your detailed explanation and presentation style. Keep it up!!
Thanks for letting us know. We are glad we could help!
Thank you for posting this, I was hoping you were posting an updated planning video. We're in the middle of planning our honeymoon to Yellowstone and the Grand Tetons and your videos have been extremely helpful.
Glad it was helpful! Have a great honeymoon.
You can fly into a Idaho Falls airport. Which is one hour 48 mins from West Yellowstone. It is a small airport but in summer has some good deals.
Yes! We mention Idaho Falls Airport in our article: wereintherockies.com/getting-to-yellowstone-and-grand-teton/
Thanks for sharing ❤️
We are going to Yellowstone (from the UK) at end of April and I'm so glad I watched this video. For some reason I didn't think there could be even a chance of snow in May, how wrong was I! Thank you for this informative video and wish us luck :)
We are also want to visit Yellowstone in April from UK. I have never driving on the right of the road and thinking of getting professional guide from Salt Lake City. If you have any information can be shared would be very helpful. Thanks and regards.
Good luck! Hopefully everything goes smoothly for you.
We do not personally know of a professional guide from SLC but we know there are tour groups. A quick google search should help get you on your way.
On the way there. Thanks for creating this. Best guide I did not know I needed! Wow you guys are wonderful!
You're welcome 💖
I have been watching your videos (Rocky Mountain, Yellowstone…etc) your videos are awesome and complex, you guys co out all!
I have been with my daughter last year in the Rockies and this year to Yellowstone and GTeton, we got some great tips from you! Thank you!! Keep it up!👍
Awesome! Thank you! Glad you've liked them and what a wonderful thing to do with your daughter.
We will see you in feb
Thank you. This is very helpful. I am planning a trip there in May, this will be my 2nd trip within past 7years. I look forward to the west entrance.
Have a great time!
I'm headed there this week.
Thanks for the video. We are no "plan ahead" type people. We just booked 4 different lodges for our trip to Yellowstone in summer '24! I was so grateful to see there were still openings!
Way to go! Have a great time.
this couple has 4 boys, what a blessing.
Oh, and as for Xanterra, we had booked a 1 week Yellowstone tour with them, meals & lodging & bus excursions included. They did a fantastic job. Our meals varied but a different place every night and could eat anything on the menus
That is awesome!
We used your extremely helpful guide when we visited the Grand Canyon in 2021 so we will definitely do the same for our trip to Yellowstone.
Awesome! We love hearing from our customers and we're glad it was helpful.
Also, we'd love it if you'd leave a review on our Grand Canyon Guide page. You'll need to scroll to the bottom. Thanks in advance. wereintherockies.com/grand-canyon-packages/
@@WereintheRockies I went to the link you furnished but I didn’t see anything under reviews. It looks like that page is incomplete. I browsed to the Yellowstone page and scrolled to the review section. It was totally different than the Grand Canyon page. You might want to check that out.
Driving from South Florida next month. 7000 mile 28 day road trip!
Have fun! Enjoy every minute.
Definitely on our bucket list to visit! Again thank you for this!
We visited the Playmill Theater and watched Beauty and the Beast. It was a great show. Very talented actors! Thanks for the recommendation!
Our pleasure!
Thank you, heading there first week in September 2023
Have a great time!
Matt...you're awesome. Great video and you made it interesting.
Thank you so much!
I'm planning our first trip to Yellowstone and Grand Tetona and your videos are great! Thank you so much
Good luck!!
Just got laid off yesterday. It’s finally time for me to check Yellowstone off my bucket list
We're sorry you got laid off. Excited for you to see Yellowstone!
Great video we are counting the days until we get there .
Have fun!
I'll be the first week of May.
Lots of great info!
Thank you for all the advice. Heading that way from NJ in two weeks and should be at West Yellowstone around mid June.
Awesome! Have fun!
I'm from NJ too. What stops are you making along this 2000+ mile trip? I see two national parks on the way. I'm coming near end of April
@@peanut0brain our trip is around 7,200 miles.
Headed south to Ga then along to gulf. We will stop at the Grand Canyon over to the hover dam, north to Moab, most of the parks heading North to Yellowstone and working our way back across I90.
Safe travels!
Hey! If you guys were in West Yellowstone today (6/3/23) and lost a phone, it’s with the cashier at the Cenex gas station! We saw what looked like you guys walking out🤙🏼
Thanks for the tips!
That was us!! But we didn’t lose our phone. Thanks for thinking about us though!
Loved this. We in the process of planning a 2024 visit. Great information, thanks for sharing.
Our pleasure!
So many amazing sites and places to visit! As always I love all your details and video footage! Living vicariously until we can visit one day! I'm hoping we can go in two years when my son is in 4th grade!
Danielle, we ALWAYS love hearing from you! Btw, are you in Minnesota? I (Matt) was there last year
I saw a family that look just like you in West Yellowstone this afternoon. Dude Ranch. Sounded like your voice to I almost hollered across the parking lot at you
Yes it was us!
Also, I'm looking at your guide on the website. VERY reasonably priced!
I've watched all your videos on the Tetons and Yellowstone (more than once) I'm an over planner... I'd love to be able to chat with you guys privately about your guides to make sure I'm getting the correct ones.
We don't do phone calls but feel free to email us at mattandcheryl@wereintherockies.com. We will do our best to answer a question or two for you.
We liked hiking to the Painted Pots area
How'd you know I'd be heading back this spring? Last fall the Roosevelt Corral, Gardiner Gate, and Lamar Valley were all closed. Not now. And I've booked the twilight tour. Looking forward to it, guys.
Have fun!
That would be amazing! What an adventure.
@@WereintheRockies long month and a half. But wow the views, wildlife ect. With the flood not sure if part of rout is even there.
Thank you for the information
You bet!
We were there for the floods and evacuated from Lake Yellowstone hotel. We’re headed back this summer!
I'm sure that was quite an adventure. So glad you get to go back so soon.
agreed, personally i believe it will be a little above average, but not to awfully above the norm
The crowds coming in the West Entrance today seem to indicate a busy season!
very beautiful video. We spent 2 weeks in Yellowstone in autumn 2013, 3 weeks in spring 2017 and now we are flying back to the USA on May 22nd and will then spend 4 weeks in Yellowstone. We always rent scopes from Optics Yellowstone 😍
Wonderful!
Yellowstone is worth 4wks? Oh my
Nice experience to visit.
It really is!
Your Videos are always great and full of Information. Thank you very much. Now i look forward of our journey in June.
Best wishes from a german woman with bad english 😉
Best of luck! You're going to love it.
Have you folks ever read Death in Yellowstone by Lee Whittlesey? It is a very interesting book.
Yes! I’ve read death in Yellowstone, Grand Canyon, glacier, and Zion. Hahaha
I'm going to check that out.
Thank you very much
Great video! How are you all planning on handling the National Park Service’s ban on all commercial photography and video? I am curious because occasionally on our main channel as well as our sister channel we find ourselves wanting to film in a national park.
We are applying for the permits and paying the fees. I may do a video on this soon to summarize my experience
We were there in 2014 & hoping to get back. We toured for a week with xanterra group. They were fabulous
We hope you get back too!
@@WereintheRockies Thank you! Perfect plan :) We got your guide for Yellowstone and cannot wait to use it and learn all the history from Matt as well!
The black pool teaton lakes!!!
Bought your planner about a year ago - leaving in 45 days!
Yay! Have fun!
How was Chief Joseph Scenic Byway?
@@WereintheRockies absolutely worth the drive!
Very helpful, thank you.
It's easy to see moose in Yellowstone. You just have to be in the Pebble Creek campground area around dawn.
Great info looking to do a snowmobile tour in the winter and this would be the first ever trip to yellowstone any tips on driving thru from Montana to west yellowstone in winter would much appreciate.
Hey, we also have a video about visiting in the winter!
Well shot and explained 👍
Although I'm npt planning a trip anytime soon. You guys did a great job, I'm going to get your guide for sure.
Awesome! Thank you!
Just downloaded your Yellowstone guide for our trip on 1st of June
Awesome, thanks for the support! Enjoy.
Is there a way to search for specific content videos on your channel? I'm looking to see if you have done a video on the Little Bighorn National Battlefield Monument. I wish we could meet up there and talk some history together! :-)
I’m not sure about searchability on UA-cam, but I covered Little Bighorn just a bit in my video on Montana. I am organizing all my videos on my website to make them easier to find. You can find the video here wereintherockies.com/12-of-the-best-things-to-do-in-montana/
Awesome video!
Glad you enjoyed it
We were going to spend 3 nights at Grizzly Lodge last summer on your recommendation.
Darn, that's too bad. We're glad they worked with you though.
@@WereintheRockies Thank you so much for the quick reply! So it would be better to rent a car and follow your travel guide?
I’m not trying to convince you either way. I enjoy tours, But tours are expensive. So you would save a lot of money with a rental car and my guide. It tells you where to go and in what order. And my audio guide provides three hours of stories about the park, like a tour guide does.
So I’m just giving you the info. You’ll have to make the best choice for you.
Also you can still drive around the park in a camper - no need to rent a car.
@@WereintheRockies thank you for the extra information, keep up the good work. Makes life easier for people like me planning a trip and are going there for the first time.
The most scenic road into the park is the beartooth highway.
We LOVE the Beartooth Hwy!
My husband and I are planning a trip to yellow stone for June 2025. We have decided to drive from south Florida. I need all the help I can get planning for this trip. 😂
That's quite the adventure! I love it. We have lots of helpful information about the west at We're in the Rockies: www.wereintherockies.com.
How crowded are the bike trails? We’re not a bike family per se but def something I would be interested in. We’re going in 3 weeks!
That's a good question but I'm not sure I have completely accurate information. I don't "think" the bike trails are all that busy. For more info, see the NPS site: www.nps.gov/yell/planyourvisit/bicycling.htm
Really surprised and disapointed you did not mention the Museum of the Rockies in Bozeman.
We mention it in this video: ua-cam.com/video/A58Ze5ac_QU/v-deo.html
This is helpfull thanks
You're welcome.
Holaaaa, we are from Spain and we love your videos . We are thinking to visit Yellowstone park in 2024 when the proper time to visit the park May, June, September?? Thanks for the videos very helpful ❤
Thanks for watching! Check out our article all about when is the best time to visit: wereintherockies.com/best-time-to-visit-yellowstone/
Is there a trick to getting the vibrant colors around Grand Prismatic spring from the overlook? I've seen some amazing, vibrant color photos and some with very dull, bland, boring colors around the spring. Thanks
The colors mostly depend on the time of year and the temperature. In the summer, when it's hotter, you will get more vibrant colors.
@@WereintheRockies Thanks for that info.
Hi, love your channel. It is very informative. I like to ask if the camping sits have electricity outlet for electric vehicles. I plan to drive my Tesla model Y, do you think it is easy to find charging stations?
That is a great question but I do not know the answer. I would check Yellowstone's official webpage.
Hi, thank you guys for such good information. We just booked our route trip to Yellowstone 2023!
Staying in north side for 3 days and at old Faithful hotel for 4days. (I made sure I selected a room w/ a bathroom 😂)
Any other information would be great! Like for example do the gas station at park are cash only?
Thanks for watching. We have lots of information about Yellowstone on our website: wereintherockies.com/
What two weeks in the spring is it opened up to more biking?
The dates vary year to year. Here is the NPS website with info on this subject: www.nps.gov/yell/planyourvisit/bicycling.htm#:~:text=%20Yellowstone%20permits%20bicycling%2C%20including%20the%20use%20of,subject%20to%20the%20same%20traffic%20rules%20as%20automobiles.
I like this video but. Why would I land in Bozeman which is an hour and a half away and then go to JAC to the park which is farther away? I'm sure I am missing something 😊
JAC is a small regional airport and is more expensive so most visitors fly into Bozeman, which is larger and cheaper.
Tell them when the far parking lot disappeared at the guiser❤
Pad and pencil youre freaking me out 😮
Haha!
Great informative video! We are planing a Sept 2024 trip. We have a 27' 5" motorhome and don't tow a vehicle. Would we be able to tour around with our MH or would we need to rent a car?
Plenty of people tour around in their MH's.
We are planning on visiting yellowstone and the grand teton parks. We want to stay in one location. Which areas would you suggest staying in?
Canyon is the best area to stay in if you don't want to move locations. It is the most central location for Yellowstone. It is also not unreasonably far from the Tetons.
@We're in the Rockies what state is canyon in?
Nice!
When dose the big pass N. Of Cooke city open?
The Bear Tooth Highway generally opens the Friday of Memorial Weekend but that is subject to change based on weather. See here for more information: www.mdt.mt.gov/travinfo/beartooth/
Could you explain the "no reservations"? That's literally exactly the drawback we've faced when trying to plan....
No reservations to enter the park - many other parks require a reservation or ticket to enter. Not Yellowstone. But you still need reservations for lodging, etc.
@@WereintheRockies thanks for the clarification. We were unaware that any park needed reservations just to enter.
