I had yet another look at google earth and found it interesting to see that the reason why the latest expansion of Tuas Port in the South-West corner is that specific shape is because it has been extended right up to and parallel to the path of the main shipping lane that runs past it to the northern tip of Indonesia among other destinations. Singapore is really extending as far as it physically can. It can't be cheap to make but on the upside it's going to to be very convenient for ship access, also being that far away from the original land mass they probably won't have any issues with the water depth required for the monster container ships? Furthermore while not technically land reclamation they are even using floating platforms for solar farms which are spread across large sections of the straight between Singapore and Malaysia.
