I just don't fucking understand why I think of this as one of the best songs ever recorded. It doesn't make any fucking sense. Is it the lyrics? Is it how raw the singing is? I don't get it. But I haven't changed my mind since I first heard this 20 years ago: This is somehow, strangely, perversely, ironically one of the best songs ever recorded. The fact that they were smart enough to keep it under 2 minutes just compounds the effect. Fucking hell.
