- "The Last Word," is The O’Jays’ first studio album in 15 years and also their final album. It emotes the same hunger and vocal craftsmanship as the 2005 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee’s greatest ‘70s and ‘80s works. The 9-track S-Curve/BMG release finds the Grammy-nominated act in fine form with music that is thought-provoking. Of course, message music is nothing new for The O’Jays, whose rich catalog is filled with socially conscious statements that have not only moved legions of feet on the dance floor but millions of hearts.

I was at a Boston concert (the group) at Universal Amphitheater in Hollywood and I knew the O'Jays were playing the following night. During intermission, I went to the box office and asked if they had any tickets for the O'Jays for tomorrow night. The guy went on the computer and said, YES, I have 2 right here and he pointed to the Pitt area, FRONT ROW CENTER. I took 1 of them as I go to so many concerts, my friends can't keep up. So, this white boy, goes strutting to my seat FRONT ROW CENTER and had the time of my life. The Sax player sat on the edge and played right in front of me. I was in HEAVEN. Love Motown. I also danced to the Four Tops and Aaron Neville when attending the Zulu Ball in New Orleans during Mardi Gras. All in all, I have twice seen the Four Tops, O'Jays and Temptations...One of these days I am going to meet my black brother from another mother. ROCK ON!!
