I hope this comment will encourage you to continue making videos because even though you mentioned you're anxious about speaking out loud, you're doing a great job! It was fun hearing about what you use each journal for.
Ooooooh that's a beautiful stack! I am also a big fun of the plannermonkey co paper (so crinkly!). I really want to start a reading journal/log but I haven't got around to yet... and it's going to have to be pretty minimal for me to be somewhat consistent. I am very attracted to the idea of writing about my media consumption to retain what I learn better. The H&O looks so beautiful!
I used to panic and skip oral exams in college, so I totally relate to having difficulty talking, especially while filming YT videos. Great lineup and good luck with your exams!
Congratulations on completing your comprehensives and best of luck as you begin the dissertation phase of your program. For what it’s worth, I love watching your videos (from start to finish!), especially bc I no longer have IG (I deleted it for mental health reasons 😬). Also, you are not alone in disliking dot grid - I had a similar realization last year as well, when I started using my Hobonichi Cousin last year. Up until that point, I had been using a TN, and I found their grid insert to be too harsh. I love how light the line colour is for the Cousin.
@@theoryof.lauren don’t forget age discrimination- I am here to tell you that it is alive and well - people forget that those of us who are still passionate about our professions (like speech pathology still have a lot to offer but we don’t want to work full time - congratulations on your areas, I happen to fall into that category but sadly also the semi retired with lots of experience
I only wish my comps and dissertation research notes could have been as beautiful as yours is! 😍 Loving your lineup, and I'm always inspired by your setups to try creating a research notebook as a beautiful and functional compilation of notes. Wishing you all the best with orals, they really are the worst, but it'll be so much better on the other side!
B6 is my personal ‘ride or die’ size but I did use A5 a bit last year! Ended up going back to B6 this year tho lol I like B6 slim too but there isn’t much options in that size.
Hi Lauren ! ☺️ Quick question : I saw that, in your weekly spread, you are blocking time and that you are « hatching » some parts. Can I kindly ask why? Just curious! I really enjoy your videos and your spreads inspired me a lot!take care ! 🩶
hello catherine!! sorry for my late response! essentially the hatching is just to further break down my time. for instance on Mondays I planned on working from 5-midnight, but within that time block from 7-10 i was going to be coworking with my friend. so its just a way for me to add a layer of specificity with how i am using my time. i hope that makes sense!
in my research notebook its more like notes and things that i take while i am working on specific projects and some reading notes. in my HON i was using the daily pages mainly as a daily reflection, to reflect on the work I had done that day as a whole. (but i have since stopped using it hahahahha...)
Love your planner stack! I can’t even imagine what it will be like to see books that you read just for fun!
I’m ok with dot grid but my absolute favorite is graph! Love Hemlock & Oak
Love the continuation into 2024
Me telling myself - I DO NOT NEED A COUSIN! I DO NOT NEED A COUSIN 😅 happy new year Lauren!!
these all look wonderful, Cannot wait to see what you get up to with them this year ☺☺
cant wait to see your reading journal setup!
Love it! I absolutely love the h&o cover! I didn’t know they made notebooks like that. Thanks for sharing!

@@theoryof.lauren that’s a really good idea !! Thank you for your answer ☺️💜
Hi Lauren, what’s the difference between the type of notes you include in your research notebook and the reflections on your research in the HON?

Congrats on passing your oral exam!! 🎉🎉
thank you Kamryn!!!!
congratulations ph.d. candidate!!!!!!
What is the subject of your phd?
my research looks at visual and textual representations of sexual trauma!
Lauren: Let me know in the comments if you’d be interested in a set up video.
Nobody: Nah, I’m good. I don’t want more Lauren planner content.
