I really love how you do you colour coding - it's so functional. I also dislike re-reading my long form journalling, so really the idea of using a lighter colour that doesn't jump out really appeals.
thank you elyse!!!!! its been exciting trying to still make it "pretty and creative" without my usual crutch of lots of stickers and washi so I'm having a lot of fun!
it can be really hard! hopefully you got some inspo! I love the dividing because it also makes the A5 page seem much more manageable, even though it doesn't decrease the useable space all that much!
I'm using the HON for study notes/memory keeping! Yearly index is for habit trackers, monthly is a calendex, weeklies are for noting events that actually happened (and I might borrow your media log idea, as my weeklies are rather sparse right now), and the dailies are for notes from what I'm reading. It's evolved even in just the first 22 days of using it, but I really love this book. Thanks for sharing how you use yours!
we're planner twins! thhhhe Liberty Fabric really called to me even though my usual aesthetic is more the MOTHER cover or even the black gingham. I'm also color coding entries in my monthly and dailies using the same color dots to mean different things. the weekly section is the most unhinged at the moment. it's my first vertical weekly layout and im still not sure how to really use and maximize it
there’s something about the liberty fabrics!!!! how is your experience with the dot pens? i’m figuring out ways to make them work but im interested if anyone else is having my issue! i’m starting to think it has to do with my skin oils!
thank you so much 😭 for larger headers/writing, my trick is to trace over the writing! i always hate it on my first go around and then i go over the lines again and it always looks so much better!
Hi! This video has been INSPIRATIONAL to me. I love my Hon/Cousins, but I have *always* struggled with functional layout on the daily pages. The idea of keeping the upper, larger section flexible, and the bottom third constant for schedule and tasks, is just so brilliant and makes so much sense--why couldn't *I* think of that?! 🤦♀Thanks so much for sharing! Are you still using this format, now that we've finished the first quarter? (I hope so, or I'll be crushed. 😂)
I love your set up and how you use a lighter color for the journaling! Im sad that I already bought a dark color ink and wish I would have bought a light color for the same purpose. lol
Great video! I love your color coding and how you're making the weekly and daily sections functional and fun! I also love the idea of putting a dot on the dailies so you know they contain sensitive information. Definitely taking notes!
oh i just found your channel for the first time through this video! instant sub! i don't think I've ever seen someone use the daily pages like that and I think I'm going to use some of it. i recently found that, as much as I love the weeks, it isn't helping me with planning out my work responsibilities and I've been trialing an AVEC and its been working! so now going around looking for some extra inspo. thanks so much for sharing !!🖤
ahh thank you so much!!🥰 i feel the same about the weeks, i kept trying to make it work but i think i’ve finally accepted it just isnt for me unfortunately
Love your thoughtful setup! I am at war with myself regarding stickers in my daily section. Cant seem to stop but also scared to face the bulk. You inspire me to keep it minimal!
Great organization! I also have the same hon cover but mine is with the A6 size. I love mine too and think it is very beautiful. I'm using my A6 hon to track my daily hobbies and entertainment, but I use an A5 Cousin for my daily planning. You've given me some very good ideas on how to color code and use my inks to differentiate between my different types of journaling and tracking. I appreciate your content.
I have the exact same HON, and I love it. I confess that I am in planner paralysis and aside from a little decorating, I haven’t used it much. I like many of your ideas and am hoping I will get in the swing soon of actually getting something on the pages.
I’ve been sticking the back covers of my HONs (both sizes) in my hobo covers to protect them and it’s been great to protect them in my bag and for the pockets. Of course I take them out as soon as I hit my work or home desks because they are so pretty!
omg do you have the clear cover on as well?? i tried it with the clear cover in my gillio zip and it didn’t fit but i didn’t try in the hobo covers (bc the only one i have reallllly clashes lol) or without the clear cover
@@nic.lol.eplansif you get a clear cover, make sure you get the one for the HON - fits perfectly. Doesn't bulk it up too much and will protect that beautiful cover of yours!
I love this! What’s the difference between reference and notes/brainstorming? Wouldn’t you refer back to your notes and brainstorming making them reference? Definitely copying this! It’s genius!
ah good question! usually my brainstorming notes are kind of disorganized and not well flushed out yet, so in that case I usually will recopy them once i figure out what's going on so I dont usually refer back! also, if its something very short term that I likely wont need past that day (ex: those football notes- I made the picks that day so I no longer needed to refer back to that). however, if I DID find myself refering back I could always add the "reference" color to the top later! the beauty of marking it two ways is having a built in backup lol
I really enjoyed this video! I may try to incorporate more color-coding in my planner. I just did a video about how I divide my daily page and it is remarkably similar to yours. Thanks for sharing!
On WOTY do you pick it? Or does it pick you? Might sound weird but mine finds me. So I don’t come up with it it pops in my head and is a perfect fit and because of that it always pops in my head and I stay focused on it in different aspects of life thru the year. Sometimes I wonder if I had come up with my word that I thought it should be if that would be different and it wouldn’t always be on my mind.
tbh this year was the first time I did the word of the year and I agree with you and am with you that I don't really care about it too much lol. At least the "turning page to the new year" has content on it
I'm late to comment (hello! hi!) but I also don't really jive with a word of the year, so I've been doing words of the month, and for me, it's sort of like something to work on for that month.
I am going from a Leucchtturm 1917 to hobonichi cousin I really like the hon with hard cover. I am wondering how you like it and if you have ever had a soft cover one too for comparison
I know this question was not meant for me but I thought I would answer it since you haven’t gotten one. I used the full year soft cover all last year and it got super chunky 😅 So my only concern getting a Hon is the chunk, if you only use pen and minimal stickers/washi then you should be fine. Hope this helps 😊
i dont find it happening with my grey one (the original two sided) all that much, mostly the pink and blue (which are the singles). don't know if that has something to do with it or not... I did notice similar issues in the TAN 68 gsm paper last year which i think was the new paper (? lol) so at least mine is consistent that way. I've also found that if I press harder and spread the color it shows through less than quickly dotting and having a lot of concentrated color. i'm working through it! but they're so handy i'm not ready to give them up yet haha
I actually feel the same way about the new paper. Even my fountain pens seem to be bleeding through a bit whereas in the old paper there was absolutely no bleed through. A bit annoying and I’m not sure how I feel about it yet but…. We will see.
i’m seeing so many conflicting views on it, that i’m starting to think it might have to do with my skin/oils. which would check out bc i think i’ve experienced it on other paper types and it’s the worst near the right side of every page where my hand usually rests. but im not sure!! definitely a learning curve though
It has to have something to do with the ink or pen because mine haven't bled at all and I'm VERY new to fountain pens... Mine have been leaking ink and coming out super thick in places and it's still not bleeding.. hardly even ghosting. Do you write hard? Like do you press down really hard when you write?
Where did you get the journaling prompts you printed out and put in your dailies? Im having trouble finding ones that arent very generic "what are your goals for this year" "one thing you're grateful for" etc etc. those are great, but i want something different for each day! Love your set up... Im using a HON too and worry how it will hold up since im using stickers... Trying to be more functional with it and only use stickers to emphasize the important things!
Nevermind - you answered it! Love Claire from online and her not afraid of paper account! Something I'm learning and working through with my ADHD, OCD, and perfectionist issues lol
Love your aesthetic and the way you functionally use the Cousin. I’m always looking for FUNCTIONAL tips and tricks. Thanks for sharing!
ah glad you enjoyed- thanks for watching!!!!🥹

Love this and how the same colors are used and mean different things in different sections!!! It looks so cool already 🤩🤩🤩

I love how you layout your daily page! I’m still trying to find my groove with my dailies
it can be really hard! hopefully you got some inspo! I love the dividing because it also makes the A5 page seem much more manageable, even though it doesn't decrease the useable space all that much!
Love your set up. I love having an all in one planner. 😊😊

Your cat looks ALARMINGLY like my cat. Had a moment of "what is Cthulhu doing in this Video??" 😂😂😂

I would have loved to see how / where the elastic is attached to the cover. Does it show in another video?
I think it's being attached with a clip to the back cover (see around minute 3:47)
This was such a satisfying video ❤🎉❤🎉
Your kitty is so cute ❤❤
the real star of this channel!!!!!!!🤩😺
My first year and I love the cousin
so glad you like it!!! it’s such a good planner!
Interesting. I’ve not had issues with the Zig clean color dots and I’ve been using Sanzen TRP for over a year. But off brands are terrible and bleed.

hi Oscar!
🐱💖
I’m going to use that color coding system that you have, it’s genius! 🥹
omg thank you and i’m so glad you found it useful 🥹🫶
