LOVE this series and your channel! I am obsessed with all things art - specifically oil paintings and pottery! My husband gives me “side-eye” when he sees yet ANOTHER painting--I can’t help it! 😂 Your art is INCREDIBLE -- both pieces are BEAUTIFUL! ❤
Eeek! THANK YOU! I needed to hear this today! It takes a LOT of time, so I’m so happy to hear when I get positive feedback. It really encourages me! Also, YES, aren’t they amazing?! I’m glad I’m not the only one that thinks so…and over the past year, I’m pretty sure I’ve developed that oil painting obsession! I’m familiar with that same side eye 🤣😳🤷🏻♀️ Thanks again! Cheers!
Great finds. I love that you bought the picture. She’s beautiful. I once offered $250 on a 3 piece alligator made of aluminum for next to my pool. It was marked $425. I left my name and number and sure enough she called to say they’d sell it for $250. This was at an artist metal foundry in Kalona. My soft spots are buying things that my grandma or mother had. I went to a senior citizen craft fair two days ago and purchased a large quantity of embroidery dish towels and pillow cases done by a 93 year old woman. They’re beautiful. Mostly $3 to $5. These will be Christmas gifts. I also bought some crocheted hats and crocheted animals that are really nice. Gifts again.I love your channel! Thanks for taking us with you. Jan
Thank you! I’m really pleased I went with it. She brings me joy! 🤩 A humble beauty she is! I asked about offers and they did they don’t take offers, but can tell you the best they can do on the piece. I agree…I find myself partial to things my grandmother had as well. What a fantastic idea…a senior citizen fair! I bet they are stunning. Thank you, Jan! It’s really encouraging to hear when people are enjoying the content I’m putting out 😊 More to come!
I am SO thankful you to me this! I never would e otherwise known! I looked her up and I’m even happier with my purchase now. Now I’ll know if I see her work again. And I’m even more thrilled with what I paid for it. She had a gift. Glad you love yours too! 😃
@ here’s some more information I had saved: “Christl Hansen Original Signed Textured Oil Painting Christl was an award-winning artist noted for her charming paintings of children. She studied at the Art Institute of Chicago and with Oscar Kokoschka in Salzburg. Christl's ability to capture the depths of color was unparalleled.”
Also, the prices are running high on eBay, and they haven’t been selling, and no comps sold for her on eBay either. Mutual art and invaluable are good sites to look up for what artwork actually sells for. She was a wonderful local artist, that was very involved in the Mount Prospect art league, but was not a well-known painter by any means… But her art definitely is lovely!
in Chicago, I like the Lincoln Antique mall and Lazy Dog antiques. If you venture into the Western Suburbs or visit Brookfield zoo, just a hop away is the Lagrange Park antique mall...staff is great and lots of treasures to find..
Hi! New subscriber here and I love your content and bright & cheery personality. I went to school in the Midwest so I also love hearing the accents again. Thanks for taking us along with you!
@@kerryg.2332 Hi Kerry! Oh, thank you so much! It’s very encouraging to hear that! I’m so pleased you’re here. It’s so funny to hear we have accents up here, but I know we do…and us Chicagoans think Wisconsin and Minnesota have their own and I know where I grew up in Indiana is different too, so I guess everyone does. 🤣 Cheers! 😀

The girl painting is by Christl M. Hansen 1924-2007. Local artist from Mount Prospect, I have two of her paintings and they are adorable!

Can't wait for the next videos....also for a nice mix of vintage clothes and knick knacks, visit vintage frills
I will definitely hit both those in the city! I’m not usually over there, but if ever I am, I’m adding it to the list! Thank you!
@@michellepodunavac5040 I second the Lincoln antique mall! Never been to lazy dog antiques, will have to try that😊
Wow! Really some awesome stuff! Great video!
Thanks, Mom! ❤️
