And what rod is that you were using with the yellow bands on. Just watched your winter vid fishing s**n lough. You did very well. We didn’t catch very much there in May. I fished the same swim you were in😆😆😃👍👍 Cheers John. My 2 mates and I are in our late 60’s and that lake looks ideal for us for bank fishing as we do chairs not boxes 😃😃😃👍👍👍
Sorry John, I've got confused with these comments 🤦🏻 September and October is the best time for fishing in Ireland, You have better chance to catch more fish, that lake I was fishing called Tullyguide lake it's in Co Cavan, there's a lot of great lakes and loughs in the area, Lough Oughter, Gowna, Garadice That rod I was using is Tubertini Concept 13 foot up to a 100 grams
Well what a shame this was a big fish water the bream use to go 5 to 6lb with the odd bigger fish. It can take up to 3days of baiting up to really get them going but you need to find a deep hole and use big cocktail baits (2red maggots 2 worms and a piece of sweet corn). sadly they got these blister like tumors on there flanks and the water was green from the run off the farmers fields plus the river flows into this lake directly across from were you where fishing which ment that the pike men of old took the big fish out instead of returning them hence what was a perfect ecosystem is now full of small fish . Don't take your predators out. I will give you a clue the lake's name Biggins with a T. Tite lines mate .
And you win a prize well done what a Awesome lake had my first 100lb net of bream from here ah that was in the good old days, now they are catching tench shows its silting up what a bloody shame.

I first visited in 1984, as a clueless 18 year old, and caught my first Irish bream on there, during the next decade I fished there many times. Last visited in 2008, and the decline was pretty evident, with only roach caught.
Hi Damien. Thanks for reply. Do you by any chance fish Garadice in September and October. We are planning to fish The deeps, culled or houghtins depending on the weather and baiting each day. Will also fish gulladoo and the river at battle bridge for roach. Do you have any suggestions for good bream this month. Cheers John 😃😃👍👍

How did you think that the pike was a tench? What were you using for bait 😳😅
I did say that in the movie, I used corn and maggots as a bait coz I was hoping to catch a tench, that's why I didn't expect to catch pike

I do fish a lot on Garadice, it's a great lough, I would recommend deeps and cullys shore, houghtons shore isn't that great
