I have tried this build on SSF, I managed to get a +2 minions helmet, aegis, necro crafted rings and weapon, however the jewels are unreasonably hard to roll (if going for t2+ chaos/phys + poison chance, near impossible to get with maim too). Also without the diallas and the ashes the damage is extremely lacklustre, I would say it can;t be more than maybe 1-2m dps. I can clear t16's and t17's just fine, but bosses just take too long to bother with it. I dont think its a good candidate for a league starter, requires too much stuff before it feels even kinda of reasonable.
Point of correction, it doesn't cast the AOE on the target you hit. I believe it casts the AOE on the nearest target (to the minion) when you hit something/anything with an attack.
Thats right. This makes the "allies cant die" totem your biggest enemy, haha. because its often behind the minions who are near you :) But not sure if its closest do the player or the relic. but with convo on autocast, not much difference.
The only build that felt comparable to this in both clear and damage was Falling zombies + Archanist brand on a Saboteur. Not only does it feel incredibly smooth when geared up, the damage is absolutely insane. Both the damage reduction by archanist brand and triggerbots do not apply to the hit by the zombies, and with 7 brands it's absolutely hilarious to just see it literally rain zombies from the sky. All I have to do for mapping is cast arcanist brand every few seconds and lay down some mines + assassins mark on tough enemies/ bosses. Only build I played this league that could comfortably do t17s. Still pushing the build honestly, and rn it's at about 45m DPS with buffs up (Seen others with 60m+ but less defensive)

The one thing I recommend with this build is grabbing a whalebone rapier from act 1. Only needs 30 something dex and has 1.60 attack speed. Yes, it's an act 1 weapon, but until you can ignore stat requirements it is a blessing.
If you can help it, please stop using words like "broken" when they're just comfy or nice to use. Why is it that when something is genuinely nice to play it constantly gets that label; "broken"?
'Broken' is a term from years ago for something that is stupidly strong not actually broken or bugged (I think it actually may have come from M :TG but not sure)
From what I’ve seen from the build, broken would be an accurate description since it can run tier 17s at level ~80 with low budget gear. If high performance with low cost isn’t broken compared to regular builds, not sure what is.
Said the streamer ignoring that its the melee gem alone that makes this half decent, just like how the only time sentinel was good before was when it was abused with cyclone. Of course they will nerf the melee skill and this "busted OP broken zOMG" minion skill will go back to beinf totally steaminf trash
I've played the old Holy Relic with both Cyclone and Static Strike back in the day and yesterday I tested it with a wand and all wand attacks. I'm not ignoring anything and am well aware of what's going on here, I put in my due diligence. I'm quite balanced in my assessment here and emphasized that this isn't for juiced T17s and has some pretty big defensive weaknesses to get to the power level that it's at.
When did usable and fun become 'completely broken'? The only broken build this league imho was coc DD because for 10c you can clear t17s. Thats a little cracked and a slight nerf to dd will fix it. But GGG will kill coc playstyle instead. Holy relic requires a lot of synergy and all it does is give a minion build decent clear. LA is still going to be faster and cheaper with a decent bow. Hell TS will still clear faster after the nerf. I call this an actual minion build. Not praying the ai will fight and waiting for my dps to start or get in aggro range. It just works. But in comparisom to real broken builds its just decent.
uber ubers are definitely tough going on this, but you nailed it, easy t17's and hard t16's it does great, ive transitioned into MB with CI/ES which is a huge upgrade on tank ability and can now take on hard t17's
Well, I will be league starting this or something that can turn into this if it is viable (i.e. GGG don't nerf it into the ground). A minion build with no AG and no Spectres, sign me up.

for your league start atempts: pretend that the spraying gem doesnt exist.....because that thing will get nuked from orbit...110% guarnteed....its 100% a bug that we can move befor the baraage has ended and fixing that alone will make it feel HORRIBLE without heavy AS investment xDD
The only thing I got fed up with is spending 2 div pretty much every day because animate guardian, no matter what you put on him, he will die, especially on the end game content. Also, you can't make a beginner guide from this, no one can't. The initial cost is way up high for that. Is a fun build to play, though.
I generally hate minion builds. I've tried a few but there's only been 3 I've liked in PoE. CWC soulthirst, impale carrion golems, and this new transfigured relic build. Of those three, this one was definitely my favorite and for pretty much the exact reasons you named. It is technically a minion build, but doesn't plays like one and feels great. Very good bang for your buck build.
Made this build, loads of fun and doesn't feel like minions at all. You can run almost any T16 map mod, and almost all T17 mod if you don't mind using a couple portals (damn you petrification statues). I rolled like 30 Uber-Uber Elders, dropped a triple hatred watcher's eye with no base crit, and then basically stopped playing. Fun build, hope it doesn't get triple tapped. I really wish this league was better...
I have played it at borderline mirror tier, and I also play pure spectres at a similar level, and I feel like spectres is a bit more comfortable IMO. Playing animated weapons this league and the playstyle feels so weird after playing caster and melee builds. One might even say stupid. If you somehow lose your minions on any guardian or Uber fight, good luck turning back to the arena. It's feels premature to always think about killing in seconds instead of having some challenges and fun, but who am I to talk about such things.

I don’t like minion builds myself but I tried this build and actually love it , it’s very smooth , easy to play , very efficient in most content and mechanics and not terribly expensive. Ya a league start wouldn’t be too bad , breakpoints wouldn’t be as necessary to hit till we’ll into maps . Overall really solid fun build and I never thought I’d say that about a minion build
Just for reference, it has no issues with Ubers. I really only had the usual annoyances namely Sirus possibly bugging out and Uber Exarch ball phase being a pain.
holy relic of conviction feels like saboteur cast on crit with the little triggerbot guys, but better. For starting with it hit is probably better than poison. Still unsure about guardian vs necro, for actual league start I always lean towards necro, but it's hard to say no to the big burning boi hard carrying the entire campaign
i made my own version if you check the next video that is much more defensively oriented on a low budget. that's likely the direction i would recommend.
That's the problem with minions, the best ones don't play like minion builds. Well, it's more a problem with the rest of the builds in the game being so crazy fast.
I'm buying the final pieces of gear for the cheapest version of the build and then I'll be able to respec into it. Most expensive was 6L 4G 2R diala's, rest of the gear is pretty cheap. I think you can get started under 10 div, although I'm sure the 50 div version is magnitudes stronger. I saw some of your corruptions were pretty spicy!
Just for reference you can 6L any 6 socket body armour for like 10-20c and then all you do is craft 1G in the crafting bench until you have the colors you want, there's no need to spend much at all on that.

I used to love minion builds but I can't love AG. I hate managing an AG. I plyaed this and liquidated my build after less than a week. But it was fun when my AG didn't die. Full disclsure, at least once it died because I walked into a no regen map and didn't realize it til we both died.
@@subtractem That's actually fair, it was mostly fine even without it. I considered looking up spectres that were being run by some folks instead, but I rolled into FR PF instead.
The only thing about making this a league starter is that SHR needs to hit certain quality breakpoints to work correctly, and that mostly will mean using a 21/23 gem.

@Bittler87 I swapped to it from Arakaali's so I'm not 100% sure, but it did feel really good at 52% qual, which you can get just from a 20/22 and dialla's and then swap over to 21/20 or something later on, but honestly enhance was fairly cheap last time I checked. I think red maps probably wants 52% qual but even just 30% would probably be good enough to manage at lower tier mapping.
Most minion build use darkness enthroned + ghastly eye jewels for damage boost and switch to mageblood for more speed and tankiness. HH does help for some aura occasionally but not much.
I don't get how to get the ghastly eye jewels. I used craft of exile. Burned like 4 div crafting and never hit one correct jewel with life enemies maimed and minion chance to poison.
There is an atlas node that corrupts jewels from abyss with 8 mods. I'm not doing this build, but I have sold a TON of jewels to people who are from this source.

i know when balor was making his jewles he first used fracturing orbs to get jewels with the maimed mod fractured on, then i think you harvest roll chaos for the poison chance

I dropped the AG last night and the build was still solid. He's very optional.
I think a budget league start version may be very possible.

Nah, if you use Dialla's you only need 21/20, since the body armor gets you to 50, then enhance takes you to 82

Can confirm! Yup this minion is amazing. I league started it and was able to scale it for cheap.
Note that the AOE triggers on the closest enemy and not the enemy hit
over 25% of the tree is for minions. I wonder why mines are no fun??? They get 3 nodes on the tree. Want to know why I no longer play POE?
