Thank you in advance for your patience with the sound issues for Shannon’s interview. We had a bad connection and then unfortunately some technical issues with the software I use for interviews (the high quality version of Shannon’s part didn’t save). Shannon has so many amazing things to share - I didn’t want to not post her interview as a result of this! She is also still facing ME/CFS so I of course did not want her to have to redo this interview. Must save spoons! Thanks again for your patience, I will work hard to make sure this doesn’t happen again in the future. (There are timestamps in the video description, so if you like, you can go straight to the parts that interest you the most 😊)

It's 2021 we're used to physical, mental & technical difficulties!
Like ANS Rewire shows up in captions as Anus Rewire...
It sounds so painful! No idea why I'm commenting about this but laughing so hard I'm in tears.
Bless you both & THANK YOU!
I'm learning to "take it slow" but it's not easy.
Thanks again. There are so many of us healing & your videos are helping us on our journey.

I truly believe that everyone with cfs is in a sympathetic state (constant fight or flight) and the nervous system needs to be calmed. Calm the nervous system and the entire body begins to heal.
    Not just cfs, any disease!
    Thanks for sharing your story!

    • @forisma

I do a lot of calming meditations. That alone doesn't heal anything. I need to add physical training to relearn the system.

Yes, I definitely think that is a big part of it! I remember for years taking short, shallow quick breathes to breathe. It was almost as if I could not take a deep slow and full breathe. I think I was stuck in that fight or flight mode at that time.

It's crazy thinking u have to keep up with everyone else and if u don't u will be shamed as lazy or a failure - but the truth is no one cares. Yes I took a long nap this afternoon - I had no choice - that is what was required - it rained during my nap and when I woke up the rain had stopped and I felt better. Not completely but much better.

Thanks so much for all of your great content, Raelan! I wish there was such a thing as a pacing coach. Maybe there is and I just don't know about it. Waking up and - if I have energy that day - attacking my to do list isn't working. I just end up crashing hard when it's over. On the contrary, the to do list doesn't diminish by much with pacing. It only helps me maintain. 😕
Is there more you can share to help with this?

issue is with going back to food that previously made u ill is very counter productive. Clearly they are stressors for your body, even if your "recovered" its not like u cant tip the bucket again. I wouldnt look at it as "Im having to restrict my foods just to be healthy", rather see it as "i have to eliminate all this garbage in order to maintain an optimal diet". Gluten being a huge one.
