Sarah Jarosz sings "My Muse" from her album 'Follow Me Down' on our September 7, 2019 show.
The band: Chris Thile, Mike Elizondo, Eric Doob, Alex Hargreaves, Daniel Mintseris, and Matt Stevens - Розваги
Any artist who thrives, or merely survives. on the back of their creativity, knows that their muse is either generous and forthcoming, or mean and inaccessible, or somewhere in between. This song by Sarah Jarosz reveals an intimate, appreciative and even celebratory, relationship with her muse. Well, that relationship shows, in this sublime and dreamy and intoxicating song. This really is an extraordinary artistic creation.
Sarah, thank you. Your words resonate with open heart and love. My Muse left the planet; his heart inside me, captured in your words.
Entirely and wholly captivating… a shimmering distant light.
Sweet Lord, one person has completely lost their mind with a thumbs down. So hauntingly beautiful with her voice and the both of them masters of their instruments. Better for having run across this this evening. Thanks to whoever posted this masterpiece.
This is such a sad song. It always get me emotionals. Brings both good and sad memories but I always enjoy it. Like life. Thanks so much Sarah
The peaceful artistry of this performance is quietly exhilerating. I listened with a grateful ear.
my favorite version of this great song
SJ is *my* muse. 💜🌹
Hauntingly beautiful!
She wrote this song in High School! Love you Sarah! From Wimberley Texas...xoxxo
It has that High School howling at the Moon rise feeling.
In a place of Wonder, we wander, with you..... Over the Top Excellent music making this is! Splendiferous. Just - WOW.
Oh my gosh! Stunning song/voice!
What a wonderful performance, this is sooo good , the best arrangement of this song I Heard.
I always love when Sarah Jarosz is on Live from Here. I love that she is revisiting her back catalog. Having the many talented musicians that always grace a L.F.H. performance, allow this gorgeous rendition to be much closer to the LP album version. Her dreamy reflective vocals always mesmerize. Alex, who was part her trio for a quite awhile, (and recorded this on her LP), plays exquisite violin. Chris Thile's backing vocals are not as "sweet" as Sarah Siskind's, (from the LP), but his shadings on mandolin never disappoint. The innocent yearning of this song is also well captured with Sarah's solo version (see Austin City Limits), or with her old trio, also on YT. Everything from Sarah is a treasured gift to the listener IMHO.
well said ...and we are lucky to have her on LFH.
That ACL version was my first experience with Sarah. Captivating and soul-wrenching. I was hooked instantly. The world is a better place because of her.
They’re playing this episode now... Googled the lyrics before I heard who it was and found the exact recording... Life was much harder back in the day for a music nerd. 😜 Love this song and the show. Thank you. 😁
So good! Saw I'm With Her not too long ago at Connor Prairie in Indy and it was amazing!
Love her!!!
Outstanding performance!
Beautiful Sarah!
Stunning.
I loved listening and hearing the soothing sounds you made for love.
Divine !
This is the song that stopped me in my tracks when I first heard it--who is THIS? (I was listening to Pandora.) I don't know if Sarah has ever read Song of Solomon, but this is the song I think the woman would sing to her lover (if it had existed at the time, lol). I really enjoy your songs, Sarah. Slowly collecting all of your CDs. Real music...
Same here...
8 strings (!). One amazing presence.
What's that?? A mandolin or guitar?m

It would've been perfect if Thile had kept his mouth shut.
Yes I like her version from 2010 ACL, very simple. She's just out of High School... ua-cam.com/video/-Znr1CcJqHA/v-deo.html
@3:06, Thile is out of tune and singing the wrong lyrics. ("The THONGS I sing...") But amphetamines got you this far, huh.
It's not out of tune its negative harmony....as for the words...loo
Mate, it's a live performance. She got the first note wrong as well. Things happen.
