- Jason From Mount Baker Mining and Metals @mbmmllc took me for a hike High in the Cascade mountains, looking for a Quartz seam that he guarantees I will find visible gold in when I start breaking open the quartz. The hike is grueling, lets see if I make it!

As a long time viewer I really want to say that the best part of Dan's channel is how authentic it feels. He looks like an ol' timey prospector, just following his passion of gold! I watch all his videos start to end!
.
As a recent sub, something I thought was so respectful was how he says "I hope to earn your subscription today". And he certainly earns it. He seems a great, genuine person.
@@jonbraid2520 same, first video I watched, as soon as I heard that I subbed. He’s so authentic. 😬
He has the look but the way he acts and talks is all an act!
@@NET-POSITIVE the way everyone talks is an act to some extent. Chill out.
That opening shot with the mountains in the background was awesome.
Dan, you never seemed to be huffing and puffing from that hike up the hill, so I think you're in much better shape than you think. All those outdoor adventures keeping you fit.
I'd say he is in great shape , but still feel after the climb, it's a good bit b4 the next video is recorded, need a breather, I would anyways lol.
You should dress(grind) the head of your chisel so a shard doesn’t break off while striking and poke your eye out. Safety tip from old machinist.
Honestly... the most precious thing you found this video was the view during the first few seconds in the video
I tell ya, besides any gold you find, you have the added treasures of the scenery when you do these trips. That alone makes these trips worth it!
I rarely comment on any videos but I had to finally give in. I absolutely enjoy your videos. I’ve always wanted to prospect for gold but never took the time. In a way I live out my dream of doing this through your videos. I’m an entertainer on stage 4 shows a week…so this is a critique…your camera presence is captivating and entertaining as well as informative. You’ve managed to pull me into all of your videos as if I’m there next to you. God bless you sir and your adventures. Can’t wait to see the next one.
Thanks for more great quality content about the awesomeness that is the Pacific Northwest.
Mr. Hurd, I must say that I found your videos on a lark one day a few months ago and I haven't been able to stop watching them since! Whenever I'm having a hard day, I put on one of your videos are I'm instantly smiling! I love your intros and how your floppy hat really emphasizes what you're talking about, especially when you say "Iiii hope to earn your subscription today!" Well sir, you have earned mine! Keep up the passion and the enthusiasm, it is absolutely contagious. Being a fellow Canadian from across the country (Ottawa, ON), the way you go about narrating and making your videos makes me feel as if I'm a part of your adventures. I love it. Keep up the great work, Dan!
Ive been digging MBMM . Been digging the collab videos are have been doing with him, Dan. Quality as always.
Thanks Dan, quite a climb under some sketchy conditions. You're still succeeding at a young man's game. Good for you! Al
If it's not smoke, its rain.
If it's not rain it's snow.
Looking like you've picked the lesser of the deterrents😎👍
Thanks for another great adventure! Always fun to come along on your gold or mineral hikes. Good healthy clean fun, with a reward!
Thanks for the video Dan. All I have to say is; Wow gold mining is hard work.
The two of you working together is a nice treat. I really enjoy both channels.
Incredible scenery.. thanks for sharing this majestic view. Keep Freedom Alive.
Really like the close ups Dan👌🏻⛏🏴
Excellent video! I'm learning a lot from you two. Thank you. I'm leaving to the mountains in my camper tomorrow with my new highbanker sluice for a month to look for gold.
Wow. Those are truly some breathtaking views from high up on that mountain. Beautiful
What a BEAUTIFUL area, wow!
Dan and Jason,
I have only one piece of advice for both of you,
DON'T STEP BACK!
Cheers,
Rik Spector
We're getting interesting Sunrises here in Ferndale , but the smoke is "supposed to head East
this afternoon, Sunday October 16.
What a great view and GOLD!!!!!
Cascades are Amazing!
Guess that spot is in Jason's backyard
To me, any day in the Mountains is a Good Day!
Stunning views!! Great to see you two on adventures again!
Great video dan, Probably the best one ive seen this year!!!
Oh my! I feel for you Dan walking up that mountain and then breaking rocks!! I've got M.E. (and a heart operation coming up) so I have to be very careful with my energy. Luckily the worst I've had to do here in England is walk 200 feet up from the river valley. Btw, those views are amazing!! :o)
God bless you with comfort, strength and healing.
@@dawndixon402 Thank you!
Absolutely sympathize with the hike. My son & I hiked over a mile one way to watch the eclipse. Hiking OUT is to be considered, too. Thanks for taking us along.
As always, a pleasure to watch and to learn!
I love watching your videos Dan. I so miss the Cascade mountains in Washington state. I became interested in prospecting after spending a few months on the Merced River outside of Mariposa CA. Oh by the way the berries you picked are Huckleberries. Best berries on the planet!
Well once again you guys did a good job I really enjoyed that video I love to see gold inside the Rock I'm glad you took it easy going up the mountain cuz of my age I know I would be able to do it but once again really good video I thank you for sharing that and you guys keep digging and swinging
Thank you so much for including the video of the free mill gold under the microscope. Those images are the exact same as the very small sample of gold I found in the Upper Penn of Michigan recently,
Sick views! I miss getting out there, as life changes quickly. Thanks for bringing me back to a nice place you found and some cool rocks🤙
Great video Dan, thank you for going the distance
awesome man im glad that you were able to attain the experience and the gold!

I love it when you guys collaborate together. Enjoy both your channels.
Excellent collaboration thank you for sharing five stars my friend
A great adventure to be able to join you on. Lovely mountain scenery. And of course gold ❤️
Beautiful place, mate. Thank's for the effort.
Nagyagite or commonly called Tellurium is the silver colored vugs you are seeing with the gold inside the quartz. It is AuTe2 is the composition when smelted. Very common in almost all gold bearing quartz in hard rock mines in Mainly the western gold mine from Colorado to the coast.
Great, wish I had been there! Been up on Colorado and Alaska, but never had the time or luck to find like what you do!
Good luck Dan!! Have fun Jason, looks COLD - be careful
That is an incredible view..wow. I only have cornfields here
Another fantastic adventure.
Glad you made it safely up the mountain! Fun subject. I am a rockhound and quartz is plentiful here in the PNW. It is so plentiful that I don't usually pick it up. Really liked the video. Take care.
Amazing perfec 😍
Oh man I am so close to spots where I can go do this exact thing. I might have to go communicate nature for a bit.
Great videos, the scenery is stunning, I get a touch of beard envy every time I watch a vid! Keep em coming

Glad to see you made it to the site ok 👍
I wish we had decent land access rights in Wales to go prospecting!
Yes that is very shiny beautiful gold
Good job hunting and finding it
Dan,
I found your channel awhile ago.....from the Philadelphia area of Pennsylvania......have to say- your video's are fantastic, fun, enjoyable, informative and very entertaining!

Stunning and beautiful in the quartz
Thanks for a great video Dan
Fantastic trip thanks
😃 Wow great job Dan
When I was stationed at Camp Pendleton, CA I used to run along the bottom of a bluff, and noticed a large area of quartz with a lot of either pyrite or gold.
Dan your getting really close to that 1 million subscribers. Happy for you bud
That was some beautiful lads
What an amazing adventure
Dan, you are a monster!!!, I was doing it all wrong 😢, watching your cleaning videos really helped me out, thank you so much

After watching Jason' videos, I was glad to see your version Dan, I sub to you both. Keep um coming Howdy from the Gold Hill Mining District... Jackson/ State of Jefferson XX 🍛
⛏⚒⛏🤗
Dan, your ability to grow a beard is like a super power! It's better now than it was before your heart attack, I remember seeing your shaved pic on your post then, and I was afraid for you. It's wonderful to see all of your content since, thank you.
Hi from Finland! So nice to see some gold!🥳
Love your videos Dan, wether it's gold or gems, it's all interesting and entertaining.
"i hope to earn your subscription today" that is the most wholesome thing ive heard a youtuber say.
Beautiful!
Already viewed Jason's original video, nice to invite Dan to come and see.
Awesome job Dan
Good chemistry with u guys that hourney up was funny in edits and content 🎉
Been watching you for quite a while now.
Hard Hard Hard Hard Rock Mining (Elevation Hike Smoke and Rocks ) Looks like you got some treasure for your efforts, very neat to see in the quartz. Welcome to Washington!
Citrine is the yellow to brownish-red variety of the mineral Quartz. It is a widely used as a gemstone, and after Amethyst it is the most popular Quartz gem. Most Citrine is formed by heat treating purple Amethyst. Citrine may also be produced by heat-treating Smoky Quartz from certain localities.
I enjoyed this video of gold prospecting
I'd never seen mountains like those. But I have a son living Seattle and maybe I can get him to take me on a drive up there whenever I manage to get out there. I'm thinking next Spring, after the snow melts and before all the fires start! Now, take care of yourself!
Like Your Channel Alot!!! I have Watched Several Videos And even Subscribed!
Love seeing you and Jason collabing on vids. You two need to hook up with Brent from Cerro Gordo and Heavy D Sparks, who just bought a ghost town/gold mine.
it’s 11pm down in Fl was getting ready for bed when I noticed the Notification of a new video had to watch before hitting the hay for the night great video
Awesome video. Very interesting. I love seeing the gold in the quartz
Beautiful setting, the highlight was just getting out there. As I am also getting older, I'm finding the definition of "visible" is relative!
In some ways reminds me of my prospecting in area around gold mine I used to work in. It had rich deposits and still has 2 untouched ore bodies. I look for Placer below and other deposits around.
Nice to see you.
10:28 It would be interesting to X-ray the rock to see how the gold sits inside.
If you ever find yourself in New England it would be great to show you the various amalgamation we find in our minerals. Be well Dan!
