    Definitely one of the great feel good songs from the 1980's and like Bryan, I'm sure most of us have had at least one Summer of '69 in our lifetimes. My summer of '69 was actually 1970, the year I met my wife of 53 years, what an incredibly memorable summer that was. This song begs to be played loud and proud cruising down the highway on a gorgeous summer day. Excellent reaction BizMatik and Cheers from Ontario, Canada!

      You do realize he was too young to be old enough to appreciate 1969. I believe he was referring to a different kind of ‘69!🤪

    • @ultimatespinach
      @ultimatespinach 9 місяців тому +1

      @@joelliebler5690 I do realize that because I know Bryan Adams would only have been 10 years old in 1969. The song is obviously open to interpretation but I believe he's just using the year of 1969 as a metaphor and whether it connotes something sexual is up to the listener. I never interpreted it that way myself but I know many who have. Cheers!

    • @Bike_Lion
      @Bike_Lion 7 місяців тому

      @@ultimatespinach - I think he's being intentionally a bit ambiguous. Towards the end of the song though, there's a line "me and my baby in a 69," which more directly implies the sex meaning.

    Big Soul Biz, I'd love to hear a song about a long-lost summer when you were 19. What you were blasting out of the radio? Yeah, those
    days are lost forever. Great job, Biz; thanks for all the hard work.

    Great song! Bryan Adams is a Canadian singer songwriter from the 80's-90's. He is known for his ballads & he has a unique raspy voice. Bryan has had so many hits such as "Cuts Like a Knife", "Straight From The Heart", "Run To You", "Have You Ever Really Loved A Woman?", "Heaven", "(Everything I Do) I Do It For You", "Can't Stop This Thing We Started", "Thought I'd Died & Gone To Heaven", "Please Forgive Me", "All For Love". He has won a lot of awards for his music.

    Definitely need to listen to more Bryan Adams. Cuts Like A Knife, Straight from the Heart, This Time, Somebody to name a few. Bryan has been cited as one of the best-selling music artists of all time, and is estimated to have sold between 75 million and more than 100 million records and singles worldwide. Oh and he’s from Canada it’s a win win.

    Bryan did a great job capturing some of the spirit of that summer ! I can really relate to his garage band story. My hometown in Connecticut built a little outdoor venue with a cinder brick structure we called “the band shell” for local garage bands to play free gigs every weekend and it was a big hit ! Maybe not the best musicians, but it didn’t matter, they kept the kids happy playing good covers. It was sure great being a “free range” kid back then !

    If your teenage days were the best days of your life what does that say about who you are now? There is innocents in youth. Growing up is expected of us. But try to hold on to the innocent child that still lives inside your heart. This song has a message.

    Bryan Adams was 10 yrs old in the summer of 69. The song has another connotation. Think along the lines of 69. Had to do with youth, being sexual, etc.

    it always bugged me that in the summer of '69 bryan adams was 9 years old (born nov. '59). so where did he come up with all of this b.s. that he had a band and a girlfriend etc.? it's all a fantasy in his mind! that's taking poetic license too far in my opinion. trying to make himself sound like a cool teenager when in fact he was still in 4th grade.
