Sky (especially Danica) were so patronizing towards Bearman, saying that he'll learn with time as to where he should place his car. He was out of the way.
As a passing car your job is to pass in a safe manner, as the car being passed his job is to stay out of the way and make it as safe as possible for the other car. Ollie is nothing at fault here, you should never drive into the back of someone as a passing car and that is very much understood by every racing driver and even the same thing in normal everyday traffic. Albon 1000% at fault.
I wonder if Matt and Tommy will now review their driver ratings from last year. Said it then as well, it was ridiculous Albon consistently got 9's and 10's for simply putting the car where it should be.
That incident is 10000% Albons fault. Its the passing cars job to make a clean pass. Bearman was the only place he could be and Albon saw him soon enough.
Legit. Oli could bave hugged the left side of the track which would have been better off turn 9, but turn 10 has cars running wide left to carry speed through the exit, Oli even partially went off track too to give room, not much more he could have done
I don't see it that clear cut really.. from Albons onboard camera you can see Albon trying to steer to the left more since Oli was on the right side and that's how he got the snap. Oli was just out of the line, at that speed it has to be extremely hard to see that.. I'm sure if Oli was warned of Albon coming, Oli would have hugged the left side instead, and I believe Albon thought Oli was warned and that's why he blamed Oli. If I had to put the blame on somebody I'd put it on Bearmans engineer the most, Albon 2nd, can't blame Oli.

Albon blaming Yogi for this is ... telling. It's up there with "They race me so hard." I don't see him making it to the end of his contract at Williams at this rate.
Albon is feeling the pressure. In my opinion, remember, we're allowed to have those and its okay to disagree with each other, it was Albon's fault. He lost the rear on the curb.
If Colapinto was in the car all year, getting point at the same rate (5pts per 4gp) he’d be close to p10 and Williams would be p6 with a chance to be top 5. Get that man a seat!
It was so weird how the Sky commentators were debating the Albon b.s. and potentially blaming Bearman for his inexperience. Albon losing it on the curb and binning it has nothing to do with Bearman slowing down and fully keeping out of the way...
there's no way it was Bearman's fault, he was off the racing line and after that even in highlights they clearly say it was Albon who crashed in Bearman.
Hey Guys! You’ve mentioned the flack Ollie received from the SkySports commentators. I find the F1TV crew to be a better, less biased broadcast. Do you guys have any thoughts ?
Conspiracy theory: Max has already used all his engine allocations. RB has "engine issues" to preserve the engine. RB then replaces some parts for "reliability". This will happen a few more times before Abu Dhabi. Once there is no possibility for Lando to win the Driver's Championship, they'll turn the engine down so Max doesn't DNF. 😂
it was mostly Albons fault although in his defense in that corner you do kind of run to the right naturally before you swing back left just cause you’re going so fast. I feel like he thought he was going to wash into bearman, tried to slow down a bit, and just lost it. not the most ideal place to pass a person but bearman was trying to do the right thing
7:06 its like Jenson Button who got a grid penalty after Monaco 2017… XD , maybe its better that that penalty is carried over to another Fia runned series (overtaking under yellow is against the rules in every autosport series right ?

Now I am not an engineer or a F1 driver so if my understanding of how a F1 car works feel free to correct me. But as I understand it, the reason a F1 car can corner so fast is because it generates so much downforce so if you lift in the middle of the corner you lose some or all of that downforce and lose grip. Albon clearly had to lift as Bearman was on the outside, did he have to lift so much that he lost enough downforce to lose the car? I personally don't like all the coasting and I do think at some point there is going to be a massive crash where someone is going to get seriously hurt or worse. There have already been a number of close calls and I personally don't want a car going at 200+mph on a flying lap going into the back of a coasting car going at 20mph or whatever no matter how good the inner cockpit is.
