Mark Pitchers I know what you mean, but I was thinking about digging out say a 12ft square and 12 inch deep and fill that up. It was only a thought. I know those carp soon chuck it about though. I had quite a huge tank and they don't mess about when it comes to shifting things. The gits even sucked out my snails out of their shells! Thanks for the reply Mark. Looking forward to next month. Yes I used to chalk the entire lake every year for the past 10 years. The problem with that is it also encourages weed growth, so that was just increasing the the silt levels more than it was improving the situation. In weed free lakes chalk/lime is great for improving overall water quality.
I’ve been watching your vids getting my Carpy fix as I now live in the highlands or Scotland, a place not known for its carp lakes (because there aren’t any) I haven’t fished for carp for over 4 years now but I’m starting to build up my tackle and I’ve found somewhere 3-4 hours drive away I can start fishing again. I can’t wait but in the mean time I have your video’s with the great banta you have with Harry. Keep up the great work and I hope to fish your lake one day and catch one of those beautiful fish.
Hi Kirk! Yeah you've got even fewer carp waters up there than I have in the northeast! But, there is one big water just over the Scottish border that holds a carp that I consider to be the best carp in the land, or certainly the most meritorious one :)

did you ever lime the lake ? My syndicate has a third limed every year, The water is 4 foot and the sily is 6 foot inplaces but clean and no smell

Excellent yet again. Stupid question? Where will all the water come from for the refill of the lake? Is it the nearby stream? How long will that take to fill?
Thanks Andy. The lake is fed from a stream that runs along side. It will only take a couple of weeks to fill back up.
