    I've watched several of your gear and pack videos, a lot of them actually. As soon as I got off the other night I went home and started working on another pack/bug-out bag! When it comes to safety and necessities, I now believe in being prepared for whatever may come my way. Thanks!! I'm working on a day pack for my dad currently lol hey, small movements make big waves!

    Smart of Maxpedition to update the look of their products. The classic look is classic, but isn't for everyone. The new bag styles are much more modern and will appeal to a wider audience. Smart decision.

    I just LOVE watching your videos! Because of you, I purchased a Maxpedition Beefy Organizer-I LOVE IT!
    Saving my Pennies & hope to get a Gyrfalcon Pack before Winter sets in. Using a Walmart Fieldline at present-It is better than nothing. It lives in my vehicle and is provisioned for myself for EIGHT days.
    Keep 'em coming, Sootch. You have helped me tremendously!

    I prefer more denier to the hexagons. So basically they've reduced the quality of the material with their new line. I'll stick to the classic.

    Would prefer the 'legacy" nylon PALs webbing as opposed to the rubber/composition. Particularly on the sides to hold a quick grab item like a pen or penlight or to attach a small pouch for a knife, multi tool or torch..

    I love Maxpedtion gear, and these reviews. But for anyone watching this video thinking these bags can withstand rain it's just not true. I had the Noatak Gerslinger on my front in Borneo, everything including my phone was ruined in a rainstorm. I had my Falcon 2 in the Lake District earlier this year, again everything inside soaked. I understand these are extreme conditions, but just a word of warning these bags do not stand up to any heavy rain. Waterproof everything inside unless you want it ruined.

      I found that out with my colossus versipack it's always the zippers that are the weakness but a good pack cover helps.

    • @idratherbeoutdoors3085
      @idratherbeoutdoors3085 7 років тому +1

      Yeah, I would expect this. It's obviously not waterproof, just resistant. Great stuff when used right, tho.

    • @MaxiKingK
      @MaxiKingK 7 років тому +1

      I tried it out with my Pocket Organizers, they are not waterproof. They can stand some rain but not much. If the bag is underwater for just a second everthing is wet, thanks to the zippers.

    • @Zhak2293
      @Zhak2293 6 років тому +1

      Can verify. 5 mins in heavy rain and you can feel moisture from the inside. Good pouch, just not water resistant enough for peace of mind.

    Nice pack man. For your flashlight I would recommend the Thrunite TC10V2. It has a high setting of 900 lumens and the low setting burns for 88 days one one charge. It takes 1 18650 battery and it has a USB port to recharge the light. In a bug out situation you could use a solar panel to recharge. Nice vid stooch thanks man. You always have awesome vids with stuff I've never seen. Peace

    Maxpedition's gear is on the more expensive side, but it's extremely high quality. In this day and age, you really do get what you pay for.

  • @ljaysperspective1775
    @ljaysperspective1775 5 років тому

    It looks like a very nice futuristic/ tactical bag. However, it doesn't seem to be as roomy as the original Max v1 and its more expensive aswell. Unfortunately, I do not think its made in the USA but rather Vietnam like its counterparts. Over all, its more compact, more cost effective and ur limited to its 2 seperate compartments IMO. Depending on ur application or personal needs. Good vid, thx for sharing.

    Little English thing. An acronym is a series of initials that sound like a word. An initialism is the term for a series of letters that are pronounced like letters. N.a.s.a., that's an acronym. F.b.i. That's an initialism.

      I love it. I have to hump this gear and the heavy weights on their 1000D's was the biggest complaint over the years. Their new gear is a response to users complaints about weight. 1000D everywhere is overkill unless you are dragging it behind your car or something.

But it looks like they are only doing a couple of colours now, no OD Green, no Foliage, just black, wolf grey, and Khaki I think. That really sucks, bring back the Camo they once did, it was awesome.

    • @cthulhu6697
      @cthulhu6697 5 років тому +1

      You can get those key ring bottle openers at lots of gas stations for a dollar. I have a blue one on my key chain along with a little waterproof stash tube which is just the right size for a couple days worth of meds plus some extra ( because if I somehow misplace the whole bottles, doctors these days, because of the fake "opioid crisis", aren't trying to hear that you need a way early, emergency refill on schedule 2 opioids and schedule 4 benzos and I'd be in a world of hurt without my meds ). But yeah, tons of gas stations have those bottle openers in any color you want, usually for a dollar and usually right at the register

    • @SensiblePrepper
      @SensiblePrepper  8 років тому

      The 2 CR123's should last longer. They have a 10 year shelf life. I prefer the 18650's because they are rechargeable but keep CR123's for back ups. Thanks

    I been testing and went through many phannie packs and other bags. I am longboarder and like to go downhill. I don't like to carry my back pack so I been testing out EDC ouches. My biggest concern is road rash. I go down hill fast and fall often. A lot of my pants and a lot of my bags rip through when I fall and on the concrete or asphalt. Do you have any recommendation where I can attach a pouch to my waist( keeping my center of gravity during high speed) also " road rash" resistant. I keep tearing through all my gear every time i fall and slide down the ride. Even leather won't hold long enough for me.
