So people whether it is a gene or a mental issue have addiction issues but not all. Some people are addicted to sex, some tobacco, some alcohol, some gambling, some drugs, a majority of people are addicted to nothing regardless of what they take. Stop blaming the addiction and start treating the person. I've lost people to addiction but I have seen pain suffers have a new lease on life because of these drugs and they shouldn't be treated like addicts because of a medication
Do your research. Alcohol is not prescribed to you first of all. Second, opiods for years were over prescribed, they said they weren't addictive, they over prescribed because the more the doctor gave out the mire money he made and that was because the company put them up to it. I lost my mom, dad, a set of grandparents and 4 siblings all from opiates. Which ALL started from doctors prescribing it to people who some did not need. My mom had lupus and my brother a bad football accident that ended his career. So maybe for a moment but not at what they were giving it to them. Not noicing they were fastly getting addicted. Going from oxys to things much worse. I myself am 8 years sober for a back injury the doctors knowing my family history and still gave me opiates. Until i tried to kill myself and then i finally gave up what was killiny me. The pain i feel even today, i dont wish on any family. So a child, i couldnt live if one of my girls passex away
i may be addicted but i dont abuse the meds im on,crap like this just makes it harder for people who live in pain to get medication that works,if you take it as per the directions it may or may not harm your overall health but living in pain cant be good for your health either,on bad days my blood pressure goes to around 200 over 160,i would rather be addicted and use my meds as prescribed than try to get a little high,you can still go to the er if you feel your dose is not helping

My son had to carry me to the car and lift me into a wheelchair. The ER gave me an antibiotic and sent me home. I was bedridden for 6 weeks. All because some morons can't count to one. If someone ODs, that's on them, period.

Ive been perscribed oxys before. I was never told i couldnt get adficted. Ive had to do several detoxes l. It just comes with the territory of getting kidney stones. I suppose it helps that i was 42 the first time i had to detox. I was 41the first time i was perscribed them. The thing that gets me is you gotta take a good bit more han perscribed, or that your body is used to, to die from them. My dad was up to betwenn 30 & 40mgs every 8 hours when he died and it wasnt the oxys that killed him.
I am 4 years out of a 35 year opiod addiction. I cant tell you how many x i was told you couldnt get addicted. Now, 4 yrs later, i havent touched a pain pill, but the drug is so addictive that i will still catch myself wanting to take one to see if i can get high. I kno today i wont use, and each day i just get thru the next. The craving for the drug is stronger than anything known to man. My cravings are few and far between, but even 4 years later, i still have to stay on top of my sobriety or w the use of just one pill, i will be right bk at it. So stay strong. Its worth it. I am just grateful i survived all the years i used, there by the grace of God go I. I really wish there was some way to show the makers of these pills how deeply it affects the brain. But today, i stay clean!!

Plus, the company was paying doctors to push the drug to their patients. It’s just like that old song goes the Pusher don’t care ,if you live or if you die. That was the companies philosophy, and they making billions off of it. They had a whole cottage industries in Florida, selling to drugs to junkies coming in from all over the south east United States.
