- Thank you for all your responses to the first lesson! Now we can move forward to the next level - Roger will show you the basic facts about hi-hat and tom toms. Uploaded on YT for all of you, who are not on IG with no copyright claim. Original source - / rogertaylorofficial .
Learning from the best! Thank you.
Roger inspired so many well known players like Taylor Hawkins of the Foo Fighters. The Queen guys were all one of a kind.
Especially the use of roto-toms.
I lobe the way he spins his sticks after each fill. What a mannerism. ❤️❤️
My Absolute favorite Drummer of all time.

You're not the only one who thinks that! In my eyes he's the best drummer in the universe!
@@fackk5022 bruh it's the American way of spelling it
Hi Roger! My name is Bree and I was born in the late 2000’s. Even though I could never go to one of Queen’s concerts back in the 70’s, I still look up to all four of you. Freddie, Brian, John, and you. Even if you all aren’t together as a band, you all make me smile. Thank you for making my life a little brighter. ❤️
I never knew my grandfather because he passed away before I was born... And that makes me sad😔! But when I see Roger a smile appears on my face and the only thing I can think is:"Wow, what an amazing man! I wish I will be like him once I'm grown up!"
Roger, I love u! You, Brian and Freddie, John and Adam are my idols! Thanks for everything!
Love the twirl of the sticks at the end of each breakdown.
Very endearing. Thank you.
He just can't not twirl, can he? I love it.

Right Deco Dolly.
Mr Taylor you are the nicest and best drummer I have heard. Loved your queen harmonies. May you be around forever.
I’m enjoying these, even though I’m a 55-year-old non-drummer mother. Thanks, Roger!
Hi Roger, I saw you live at Wembley in 86 the most exciting concert I've ever seen. It gives me great pleasure these days to be able to player my Roland electronic kit at home along to the very concert I was at in the crowd watching you. I struggle to keep up with everything you do on that concert but I'm getting there. The memories are priceless and I thank you so much for implanting those memories inside me which have stuck with me all this time. I shall never forget you, the band, the concert and they absolute joy it has given me throughout my life. If you could say a few words to me I would cherish that above it all. Cheers, Toby
I do the same with my Roland
I cried while reading this. I was born in the late 2000’s and would die to go back then and see them all together in a concert. What was it like?
Roger belongs to the old school of self taught drummers, the best in my opinion. He uses his right hand much more than the left, what he gives in terms of symmetrical playing he gets it in terms of creativity, variety and musicality. Love his playing.
awesome as always roger! i was at your 2nd ingleston show in june 82, at the end when you all took your bow you bounced your sticks off the stage and into the crowd, my friend george put his hands up to catch them but was blinded by the lights and one hit him on the head and the people behind him got it! at least he got to touch one of your sticks! i got a plastic drinks cup off the top of freddie's piano! i've been a fan since 76 rog, thank you for a lifetime of wonderful memories, you guys are the best of the best! love you all 👑✊🇬🇧
Roger is one of the only people who can successfully pull off wearing sunglasses indoors
"I'm Rougah Taylah, and *UH* I'm the drummah and oneovva singahs of Queen"
I'm sorry, lmao
LMAO
Fabulous. Lifelong queen fan her Roger. And after your recent tour, I decided at 60 to start learning the drums. I only have one inspiration. You. Your drum solos during your live shows with Queen were always a highlight. So, here goes, with the help of my tutor, I'm hoping to bash out some tunes before too long. Thanks for these videos, ❤️
Not a young aspiring drummer, more like an ancient one, loved the tutorials. Thank you
Very beautiful style ! Great Roger !!!
Awesome thanks Roger you rock😁💯much love from NZ
Brilliant!! love Roger Taylor best drummer ever, what a talent, cant wait to see the show next year
always seems such a nice man.massive respect for roger.ian xx
Roger, can you give a lesson on “twirling” the drumstick please, love to know which song is your favourite to drum to, thanks for the entertaining tutorials 👍🏻
Before Corona put an end to it, I attended Nordoff Robins. Out of all the instruments introduced it was the drums I LOVED most. They allowed me greater emotional expression than a guitar or piano. I loved the whole experience, sitting with these wonderful instruments, the stick, hitting the drums and the instant feedback of the sound. They reach something deep in my psyche, perhaps a memory of when we're in the womb and feel the vibration of a heart beat. Or more primal in our evolution.
I don't technically play the drums, and didn't know people have lessons. So thank you for the video. I'm happy just playing by feel and dream of being back in the NR music room playing my heart out.
Roger is simply the best.
Brilliant! Essential viewing,
I cant play anything but I love to watch and listen to good musicians
Fair play Roger nice touch teaching people
Hi roger I like your straightforwardness instead of all this number counting I’m like you being playing drums since 1971 I’m 66 and if you’re keen there nothing like finding and developing your own style you agree!
Such a honor... that's brutal!!!
truly amazing, as well as inspirational!! love the way you speak to us onlookers as people , as apposed to ingrates, been following Queen since 78 (i was 7) but let here my fav Queen song ever??? "i'm In Love With My Car"????????
I am 30 because of Roger I started drumming at the age of 5 and my first bought CD ever is from queen I still have the CD ❤️ I am still drumming 🥁
Pretty cool! Which one is the CD?
Greatest hits 2 in 1995 I bought it with my mom and dad
We want, we want... “The Invisible man” intro 🥇✌🏼
Oh yes the Tom Toms, I remember Roger playing them in Sheffield, Let there be drums.
Second favorite and greatest drummer in the world behind John Bonham! Anything Roger lacks in skill talent from him he makes up with his singing! SO amazing! Everyone should also check out his solo long plays as well best found in his 2013 box set compilation entitled "The Lot" featuring FIVE solo c.d.s, three Cross c.d.s, four c.d.s of single versions of songs, plus a d.v.d., and gorgeous hard cover book!!!
I wish i could find any local store near my area, but i missed my opportunity in 2013 and now i cannot purchase The Lot, only digital version without the dvd and book :( Roger should have to reissue it and expand with new songs, released since 2013!
Lacks in skill talent? Get outa here.
Nice Avedis New Beats Roger! I use them too, best hi-hats Zildjian ever made!
Me too those are 15" new beats.
My dad would've loved this, he played drums in a brass band, and also in a band at our local Working Men's Club, I used to love listening to him practicing
Hi roger. Really enjoying your drum lessons. One of the fills I’ve always admired of yours is your intro into the invisible man from the miracle album. Think it’s triplets It’s always been a bit hit n miss for me I like to start slow and build up more guaranteed of success that way but bang your straight into it. Maybe you could show us how you did that intro at some point. Cheers
Gracias Genio!❤️
You make our days - so much better! :)
My wife and I saw you in Newcastle a few years ago, playing with Robert Plant and it seemed good to us but, apparently, Robert pulled it form transmission. Never did hear why. Enjoying the tutorials and thanks for doing them. Cheers!
ROGER TAYLOR LADIES AND GENTLEMEN.
Agreed about the hi-hat. All drum kits should come with one. 💕
Try telling Keith moon, must have been the only drummer not to use hi-hat.
@@alexjohnston8889 why he does not have hi hat?
@@robyneianndleoncito4529 to be perfectly honest I don't know. My. Guess is the way a lot of drummers use it to keep a steady beat think of AC/DC, very simple drumming and very steady beat using hi-hat. Keith could never drum that simple style he has far too much energy for that likes to use the whole kit and his style his quite erratic at times, he never stays in one simple rhythm, he likes to go wild round the kit, so I guess as he didn't like to stay in one place on the kit he probably thought he had no use for it, I don't know.
@@alexjohnston8889 Thankyou for the information
More drink! Roger Taylor channelling Father Jack 😊
Roger amo tus canciones!!, Sos hermoso!🇦🇷🇬🇧💕

It would be really cool if u just talked about one of your early gigs. Newbie to drumming been at it for 14 months now. Tks for what your doing
Thanks Roger for all the great drumming over all the years. One of the many songs i have enjoyed is Dragon Attack. The solo you perform is a really well created peace. I love the way you play your crash-cymbals on that song, is it a 17 or 18 crash ? it's a deep sound in it. I would like you to talk about that song, if you don't mind.
