  • The last lesson from Roger Taylor from spring 2020 self-isolation. Building the bits into a solo is showcase of Roger's famous drum skills, similar to what he did on the recent Queen + Adam Lambert tours. Followed by an instruction how to play intro to famous Deaky's song You're My Best Friend. As a bonus comes Roger only cam version of his jam with Brian May to We Are The Champions.

Hello Roger, when I was 18 years old I also played drums in a band. But then I had to choose between profession or music. I chose the job and have traveled the world. But my love for music and drums has always remained. Whenever I had a chance, I tapped my fingers on everything that offered itself as a resonance body. Queen's music has been with me all my life. Now I'm 63 and I'll see you doing your drum lessons. I am so happy to see you. You inspired me to buy another drum kit now. Stay healthy and happy. YOU ARE MY HERO. "Jörg from Germany"

Roger is an icon who I have admired since my childhood. I am a novice drummer at age 53 who never took a lesson and appreciate Roger’s lessons which I learned a lot from. Thanks so very much Roger!!

Can't help wondering what thoughts and memories are going through their minds while playing We Are The Champions.

What a generous thing to do. Thanks Roger. I've been a fan since I was very young. In fact, I served you a burger at Wimpy in Guildford back in 1990 and I must've asked you a ton of dumb questions before finally giving you your order! Happy days! I remember telling you how I loved all those fills with the small drums on the right - like that killer-fill in Fat Bottomed Girls. Would love to see a demo of that sometime. Bless you and your generosity.

Roger can you please explain the hi hat opening with the snare backbeat? Is it a rocky motion of the foot? It looks like you are playing the hi hat on 1 and 3 with the bass drum and so you are light on the pedal on beat 2 and 4 which is the opposite of regular drummer do. Can you tell how you came out with this unique sonority (it makes the backbeat so huge). I also noticed in the 80 you started to play very simple with the bass drum. Not even eight notes. Again simple but extremely solid. do you sings the bass drum and drum fills? How far high you can spit in concert?
