Nice to see someone actually following breaking guidelines . Does my head in the idiots on here who do a review straight out the box without any break in then slag the motor off as poorly made.
Yea i could agree i personaly felt like i could have done more, such as change lower fluid after breakin but now thats its winter it will be coming soon ill probably make a short video about it and the water impeller soon.
Breakins are for sissys that are afraid of everything in life......just think about it for a second...do u brake in a new weed Wacker or lawnmower?....no u buy it and go balls to the wall wide open mowing the lawn...... do you brake in a gun barrel the way you are supposed to?...no everyone buys them and starts a shooting and don't even know they have a break in......do u break in a new car engine?....nope you buy it and start driving to work as normal......outboards are the only thing ppl even think have break in periods anymore...and honestly I think it's ridiculous at this point......I own a scott attwater outboard built in 1946..that spent most it's life on the Hudson River on a duck boat.....I can almost garentee it was NOT properly broken in...and has prolly more hours on it then any modern outboard on the planet and it still fires up 1st or second pulls and runs like a top all day..... maitnence is the key.....break in is kinda a joke
6:40, many Pulls? I unboxed my motor 2 days ago same motor, i had only nly 4-7 Pulls. To getbsatrtet. Extreme easy. And the inside of my motor cover is Gray coated
Looks good! How much run time on the built in gas tank do you think you can get ? I was debating about getting the 6.5 that comes with the external tank. But if the 6 is just as good. Why not .lol
You can get a good day on the water with just the built in tank and it's nothing to bring a extra 2 gallons tank and refill on the water, but you'd seriously have to be running all day I think. I rarely use my external tank it's more for my bigger engines an a reserve fuel. I'm gonna be making a update video soon on going over how many hours and some tips for the engine.
Question I have this same motor and ran out of gas. Put gas back in her and she fired up. Cut the motor off and tried to start her a little while later and she won't crank v
Hi. Thanks for the vid. I'm waiting for mine to arrive but the 15hp 2 stroke version. B4 u started it up did u only have to fill up the gear oil and sort fuel? So how's it been 2date? Many thanks.... jj
How many total hours was your breakin period? I ran 32:1 mixture for 5 hours at idle, and fwd gear. lots of smoke at the beginning but tapered off after awhile.
I did a few hours of the barrel like probably 3 or 4. Started off idle and worked up to about half throttle very progressively. Like 45 minutes then I'd increase the throttle just a touch. After a few hours of that I put it on the boat and kept it below half throttle for a few more hours. All together I didn't wide open for about 10 hours of run time of what I did for a break in.
Honestly I'm pretty impressed with it I'm making a update video on how it does on the boat soon I have already recorded the footage of it by myself but I wanna get 2 adults on it and see how it does
I have one and it starts up on the first pull every time. I bought the 18hp model and sadly I can’t say the same. The damn thing dies out when in idle.
I don't think it did, but I live in Tennessee and we ain't required to have them registered but maybe you could go to your court house and ask them what you would need. Maybe just proof of purchase with the serial number would be enough.
It doesn't come with a title. All I had to do was take my receipt to the Texas Dept. of Wildlife to show the cost, Tax, and Total of the purchase. Also will need all the info on the tag showing the serial number etc. Best to take a picture of it and show the clerk in the office. It was pretty easy to get it registered with all of that. Oh you will also have some paperwork that they will give you to fill out but they will help you with it if needed. This is in Texas , so I hope this will help you or someone else who lives in Texas
I will have to look for it. You know how manuals go. They get slid in a drawer to never to be seen again. I'd be happy to help with any questions you have tho
@@SM-Tackle also I’m not sure what the gas mixture is I need as well I have just been using two cycle amd putting it in a gallon of gas I’m guessing I’m doing it wrong
For the break in (first 10 hrs) your supposed to use 35 to 1 and after that you can use 50 to 1 but I always mix like 40 to 1 I'd rather be a little smokey then not lubeing. Have you tried testing for spark on the new plug?

Thanks for the info! Love people from other countries enjoying the videos!
I can't believe you didn't put your dirty washing in that drum, a free wash 😂😁😂
What is the thing he used to fill the oil with
Just got one of these. After 3 hours of running- in, the water cooling water has gone down to a drip.

I have one I use daily as I live on a sailboat. The internal tank last a full day of running.
Can u plug in a fuel line from the front?
Yes

Hola tiene documentación el motos
Does the break in have to be done all at once? Or can you do it over like 2 days?
It doesn't have to be done at once

I would take the spark plug out and ground it out to the motor with the wire still atached and see if you have spark. Might just be a spark plug.

I see this video is 3 years old. Are you still having good results?
I only had it about a year and half and my friend dropped it off his boat.

Did the hose and attachment for the gear oil come in the box?
Its been a while ,but I don't think it did. I think i just picked it up from my local part store.

Did you have to put grease on the prop
No, you fill the lower unit with lower unit oil though
Mercury right?

@@SM-Tackle Sounds nice! I think that chinese brands are quite underrated, as long you take care of it will it last a very long time
It's super easy to start and somehow I feel confident in it going out past my trolling motor range
I appreciate the sub I can go about 11 mph on my fish finder gps in it by myself with a decked out 14ft v hull
And the fuel line fittings was Yamaha mercury to run a external gas tank
What kind of quick connector does it take for an external gas tank?

mine came with gear oil in it already, purrin like a kitten though

Do you have to add gear oil??
