Nice one, thanks. I like the tools list at the beginning too. Another thing you can try before even beginning to dismantle anything, is to slide a razor blade around the trackpad - this can help to clear away any breakfast material that may have got lodged in there, and maybe help if you need the trackpad in an emergency.

That T5 screw you can leave there, its not holding the trackpad. its just for the tactile button.

Sometimes trackpad trouble is due to an inflated, damaged battery underneath. Then just a battery replacement will do.
Is this the same for the 11” ?
I watched this a year ago and failed to remember which screws were longer. OK, she's so good I finally went back and watched it again. (I'd remembered her comments that long. The magnetic mat is a great idea. Find a politician after the election with a used magnetic sign for his car(s). Either spray it white or remove the vinyl and replace with white vinyl.) Hi, I did the reapair of my trackpad on my macbook air, but after that the trackpad does not make the click properly. Anyone know how to solve it or what i culd have done wrong?
With mine however, an inflated battery underneath led to the very sensitive, erraticly clicking trackpad. When I replaced the battery, everything worked fine.

+Peter Lustig I don't think so, There would most likely be connectors on the Motherboard for the Force Touch Trackpad which may not be present on the Motherboards of non ForceTouch Machines...
Why do you not use static precautions? Other than that very good. Sadly you will be damaging SSD inside of the mac. You have to ground yourself and the mac to create no static sparks, you won't see them but they destroy VLSI devices.

Hi, does anyone know how i can fix a 'loose' trackpad? I recently replaced my keyboard and my trackpad worked perfectly fine but now it seems loose. It rattles when I tap it to use gestures and such which never occurred before... I've tried to tighten the bracket screws and the little screw at the bottom that raises the trackpad but tightening that just pushes the trackpad up and out of the aluminum body making it feel weird when using because it's not flush along wit the 'palm-rest' area. Not sure if the trackpad needs to be replace or what, but this is very unfortunately because it was working fine and now after fixing one issue another arises...
i dont know maybe take it to a repair shop? cause my trackpad on my macbook air is all cracked and its not mine its my schools so i always gotta hide my trackpad by covering it when a teacher comes by and its so embarrssing but yeah goodluck!
My computer works fine without a trackpad, I dunno what you're talking about, mice are far superior! Though for my laptop on the other hand.... ( I'm just yanking your chain! )
